Commas

I saw a reference in another review to User:Sammi Brie/Commas in sentences and it made me wonder: have you run into any AmEng/BrEng differences when suggesting these commas? I think British writing might be more lenient about omitting commas than your essay. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 19:07, 22 April 2023 (UTC)

I think that's more about serial commas and prepositional phrases. Mostly, my concern is with when you have multiple standalone sentences (subject and verb) linked together. Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 19:58, 22 April 2023 (UTC)

Yeah, I wouldn't want you to stop correcting it -- most of the time when I see this it's not because they are a determined prose-stylist with a considered position on commas, but because they're not very good writers. WikiCup 2023 May newsletter

The second round of the 2023 WikiCup has now finished. Contestants needed to have scored 60 points to advance into round 3. Our top five scorers in round 2 all included a featured article among their submissions and each scored over 500 points. They were:

So far contestants have achieved thirteen featured articles between them, one being a joint effort, and forty-nine good articles. The judges are pleased with the thorough reviews that are being performed, and have hardly had to reject any. As we enter the third round, remember that any content promoted after the end of round 2 but before the start of round 3 can be claimed in round 3. Remember too that you must claim your points within 14 days of "earning" them.

Hi - "quick close" is only for a keep or delete close. For any other type of close (including speedy keep) one needs to use the "close" option. That then gives you the option for a speedy keep close. You can self-revert and reclose if you wish. It might seem pendantic, but there are editors who track long term results from the AfD discussions and to some extent a speedy keep precendent is somewhat of a stronger indicator of community assessment of notability. Article Improvements?

So I created two articles a few days age iCrime with Elizabeth Vargas and Pictionary (2022 game show), and I was wondering if you could help improve the articles especially Pictionary since it says it on the article. OWaunTon (talk) 12:21, 14 July 2023 (UTC)

Piri

Hi. I'd quite like to get Piri up to WP:FA - I'm probably miles off, but that's my aim. I've just read Angeline Quinto, a featured article passed less than three months ago, and I've noticed that her article whizzes through her music career, with each album getting less than a paragraph each. I go into way more detail than that on Piri's article and all her notable singles and albums have articles, so doubly don't need them. Should I trim her article accordingly?
