Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. I've made the actions.  — Calvin999 18:40, 20 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Calvin999: per FAC: "If a nominator feels that an Oppose has been addressed, they should say so after the reviewer's signature rather than striking out or splitting up the reviewer's text." (emphasis mine) Just a reminder, and a request to undo the striking out. It seems two reviewers are on it, so I guess I'm visiting after a while. Thanks. --Efe (talk) 00:25, 21 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I've unstriked them.  — Calvin999 09:01, 22 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Will give feedback after reading the new version. Thanks. --Efe (talk) 09:16, 22 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I don't understand what you're saying on Graham's talk. The current nomination received two supports, not one. And "we're on the second section yet" doesn't make sense either. I haven't asked anyone to take on the form of a peer review during FAC, editors willingly leave comments to help. I did have two peer reviews open this year. The first had 0 contributors and the second only two editors. Why were you disappointed at not being "invited" to the second peer review? This baffles me. Just like how I was baffled at how you was offended that I didn't ping you on the current nomination asking you to "explain yourself" when I told someone else that you had told me to remove a section, or whatever it was, I can't remember now.  — Calvin999 16:51, 26 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Calvin999, Sorry for that. I only realized there were two long after I have logged out. At any rate, these two supports appear to have not convinced the community that there was a consensus to promote the article.
  • 1st support - "Support per my comments in the last FA-review." Per verification, the support was based on a minor edit which most of it was undone anyway. It's "invalid" for the reason that the article has gone major changes since its last FAC.
  • 2nd support - "Support I can see a lot of hard work has been put into this article. One thing I can suggest though..." At FAC, supports are made from evaluating the article against the criteria.
We willingly provide inputs because after all we share a common goal. But those inputs, which go lengthy, suggest that the article isn't ready to be FA yet. I suggest you take a break from the article. And by the time you come back to it, I also suggest resubmitting it to PR. Call the attention of Coolmarc for content and Laser brain and J Milburn for prose. You might as well request for Graham Beards to comment.
Honestly, I can see bits of myself in your behaviour when I was still new to the project. My prose was even lambasted like it was written by a Chinese girl in grade school!! I had 3 FACs with Déjà Vu (Beyoncé song) (content not to "compare"). Laser was critical of the prose on the second FAC. But in the end, on the third FAC, I got a support even from Graham! They support when the article is there already. --Efe (talk) 04:35, 27 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Efe, I'm not new to the project. I've been active for six years.  — Calvin999 08:18, 27 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not saying that you're new. It's me that was new then I had this FAC at that early stage and cannot easily see the point the reviewers had. I'm not saying though that you missed their points now. Anyway, just forget the last paragraph. Take a break. --Efe (talk) 10:41, 27 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello[edit]

Hi Efe. I have proposed to clear the air. I hope the review can progress drama-free, I will be posting my final concerns today and do a spot-check of the sources, and do some other fixes. I hope you don't feel discouraged by the distractions that has happened. Regards. CoolMarc 07:16, 11 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I feel tired, Coolmarc. --Efe (talk) 11:14, 11 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Coolmarc, can we focus now? I'm sorry but I have only two hours more before I go and will probably be here next Saturday. Will be able to log in on weekdays but I cannot deal with suggestions any further. So that this will be closed once and for all (passed/failed, I won't care but thank you for the effort, I appreciate it much I will refer to this every now and then). And so you will not be bothered any further. Are you not tired? --Efe (talk) 12:13, 11 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Efe, you are so close, please do not give up! And we have both gone through too much effort on this to give up now. I am willing to extend the deadline again, there are very little issues left for you to address. However, I am very tied up at the office tomorrow, so I'll only be able to get back to you on Tuesday. Your posting of me at ANI[edit]

I am very disappointed in your actions, Efe. You reported me to ANI without valid reasoning, and the discussion was archived quite quickly because multiple administrators disagreed with your accusations. Added to that, you created an edit war on my talk page by not adhering to me wishing that I did not want to keep the ANI notice there, and progressed to post diffs of my reverts on ANI presumably to show me in a bad light, when you was then told you was in the wrong for doing so as it's not your user talk. Two things which you should apologise for, but I guess you won't. As a result, I kindly ask that you do not get involved in my activities or interact with me again. It's clear how you feel if you are capable of reporting me to ANI under false pretences and willing to start an edit war to further consolidate your claim.  — Calvin999 11:05, 11 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Calvin999, have I collaborated with you in the past? Only on FACs where anybody can actually comment. The ANI was closed because it didn't need, apparently, admin action. But should you continue talking to people like that, there's actually another venue where your actions should be discussed. Back at ANI, one user and another one who had the last comment actually agree on what your attitude was on this instance. i suggest you go back and read the comments there. And do no expect apologies from me, just because Coolmarc did. --Efe (talk) 11:13, 11 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Yes I did read them, did you also read that one of them said you was wrong to do so? I said you should have apologised, not that I expect one. You haven't behaved that much better by filing a false ANI post and starting an edit war on my user talk. Anyway, I'm done with this. I won't look for a further reply here.  — Calvin999 11:16, 11 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Assistance on another music GAN[edit]

I appreciated your help on my last music GA review and am hoping that you could assist me on another. I gather that there may be some bad blood between you and Calvin999, but I'm hoping that ya'll can both let that go so the article can get a thorough review by somebody who knows the standards for music reviews better than I do.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 13:38, 11 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I think that it would help to tell which one, wouldn't it? Talk:H.A.T.E.U./GA2--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 13:39, 11 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Sturmvogel 66, sir, I think Coolmarc is much more qualified to provide a thorough review as he did on my Talk:Photograph (Ed Sheeran song)/GA1, which is ongoing. Although he might not want to stoke the fire. Apparently sir, I decided not to communicate with the user unless its on FAC. And I don't mean to derail it; as we all know, anyone may leave comments on FAC. GAN is a place where every one is welcome, too, but really I wouldn't have you involved in another bickering. --Efe (talk) 13:50, 11 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Editing on Ed Sheeran's page[edit]

I'm glad you're one the nice editors, and not a rude one like RyanTQuinn. I've noticed that you did A LOT of editing on Ed Sheeran's page, but a lot the edits that you did we're unnecessary. But I didn't undo "everything" that you did. But read the article, and noticed some sentences that didn't make sense, so as a fellow editor, I fixed the sentences to make them proper, deleted some unnecessary sentences, like when you mentioned that Sheeran and his brother were born with red hair and have the same sharp facial features, I didn't think that was important enough to be on there, combined sentences like the two sentences that start with "In February 2010. But with every edit, I specifically and completely listed the reason why I edited the page, but this problem called RyanTQuinn, who said my edits were "weak", refuses to let me edit the page, as if he owns it or something. I understand that you're an administrator, but even administrators can make mistakes too. I mean no disrespect to you, but you stated you weren't a native speaker, but I would gladly still love to work with you to update and make Ed Sheeran's page the best it can be. Please tell RyanTQuinn to back off and stop trying to control Ed Sheeran's page. Thank you very much for your time. Kalope (talk) 19:40, 21 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Kalope. Are you an avid Sheeran fan? Me too! I can sense it, and I thank you for a specific thing you've done before that had me going home smiling. Anyway, my admin tools are irrelevant in content building, so I'd appreciate it if you and RyanTQuinn stop mentioning my being admin (when content building is the subject). While I can brag about the articles I have brought to FA status, it's not an assurance that I can get everything properly. Even professional biographers have editors! Okay, so let's move forward. Maybe we can start by providing clear edit summaries so we spare ourselves from having to discuss everything on the talk page. Also, when we disagree on something, let's discuss it on the talk page and provide link(s) to Wikipedia guidelines. I really really want the article to achieve GA status, and edit warring will prevent it from having the green icon! I'm on a research mode now, so I'll just check and do minor stuffs. --Efe (talk) 04:20, 22 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I apologize for that, and I completely understand. And yes, I am an avid fan of Ed's, he's the best musician to ever grace the earth. :) Kalope (talk) 10:52, 23 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Extended confirmed protection[edit]

Hello, Efe. This message is intended to notify administrators of important changes to the protection policy.

Extended confirmed protection (also known as "30/500 protection") is a new level of page protection that only allows edits from accounts at least 30 days old and with 500 edits. The automatically assigned "extended confirmed" user right was created for this purpose. The protection level was created following this community discussion with the primary intention of enforcing various arbitration remedies that prohibited editors under the "30 days/500 edits" threshold to edit certain topic areas.

In July and August 2016, a request for comment established consensus for community use of the new protection level. Administrators are authorized to apply extended confirmed protection to combat any form of disruption (e.g. vandalism, sock puppetry, edit warring, etc.) on any topic, subject to the following conditions:

  • Extended confirmed protection may only be used in cases where semi-protection has proven ineffective. It should not be used as a first resort.
  • A bot will post a notification at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard of each use. MusikBot currently does this by updating a report, which is transcluded onto the noticeboard.

Please review the protection policy carefully before using this new level of protection on pages. Thank you.
This message was sent to the administrators' mass message list. To opt-out of future messages, please remove yourself from the list. 17:47, 23 September 2016 (UTC)

Please note that TOTP based two-factor authentication is now available for all administrators. In light of the recent compromised accounts, you are encouraged to add this additional layer of security to your account. It may be enabled on your preferences page in the "User profile" tab under the "Basic information" section. For basic instructions on how to enable two-factor authentication, please see the developing help page for additional information. Important: Be sure to record the two-factor authentication key and the single use keys. If you lose your two factor authentication and do not have the keys, it's possible that your account will not be recoverable. Furthermore, you are encouraged to utilize a unique password and two-factor authentication for the email account associated with your Wikimedia account. This measure will assist in safeguarding your account from malicious password resets. Comments, questions, and concerns may be directed to the thread on the administrators' noticeboard. A new user right for New Page Patrollers[edit]

Hi Efe.

A new user group, New Page Reviewer, has been created in a move to greatly improve the standard of new page patrolling. The user right can be granted by any admin at PERM. It is highly recommended that admins look beyond the simple numerical threshold and satisfy themselves that the candidates have the required skills of communication and an advanced knowledge of notability and deletion. Admins are automatically included in this user right.

It is anticipated that this user right will significantly reduce the work load of admins who patrol the performance of the patrollers. However, due to the complexity of the rollout, some rights may have been accorded that may later need to be withdrawn, so some help will still be needed to some extent when discovering wrongly applied deletion tags or inappropriate pages that escape the attention of less experienced reviewers, and above all, hasty and bitey tagging for maintenance. User warnings are available here but very often a friendly custom message works best.

If you have any questions about this user right, don't hesitate to join us at WT:NPR. (Sent to all admins).MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:46, 15 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Notification of pending suspension of administrative permissions due to inactivity[edit]

Information icon Following a community discussion in June 2011, consensus was reached to provisionally suspend the administrative permissions of users who have been inactive for one year (i.e. administrators who have not made any edits or logged actions in more than one year). As a result of this discussion, your administrative permissions will be removed if you do not return to activity within the next month. If you wish to have these permissions reinstated should this occur, please post to the Wikipedia:Bureaucrats' noticeboard and the userright will be restored per the re-sysopping process (i.e. as long as the attending bureaucrats are reasonably satisfied that your account has not been compromised, that your inactivity did not have the effect of evading scrutiny of any actions which might have led to sanctions, that you have not been inactive for a three-year period of time, and that you have not been inactive from administrative tasks for a five year period of time). If you remain inactive for a three-year period of time, including the present year you have been inactive, you will need to request reinstatement at WP:RFA. Further, following a community discussion in March of 2018, administrators suspended for inactivity who have not had any logged administrative activity for five years will need to request reinstatement at WP:RFA. This removal of access is procedural only, and not intended to reflect negatively upon you in any way. We wish you the best in future endeavors, and thank you for your past administrative efforts. — JJMC89 bot 00:03, 1 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

2019 US Banknote Contest[edit]

US Banknote Contest
November-December 2019

There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons.

In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate.

If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here

Notice

The article First Mass has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This appears to just be a dictionary definition.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
