The list of carriers was partly WP:CRYSTAL and entirely unsourced. What was left, after keeping the little bit that was useful, worked just fine as text (versus a list).

I removed the photos because, as you agree, the photos were in copyright. They've all been deleted from WP:Wikimedia Commons as copyright violations, so they needed to be removed from the article. Dori ☾Talk ⁘ Contribs☽ 04:48, 13 April 2012 (UTC)

Dori, thanks for your contact. Myself and another person has been trying to follow all of the guidelines but being novices in the Wikipedia world is making it tough. There is an Article for KICKSTARTER.COM which is a crowdfunding website for artistic projects. FundaGeek.com is a crowdfunding website for Innovative Technical and Scientific Research projects. They are helping inventors & scientific researchers get funding for really good projects. I've been looking for someone who can help me comply with the requirements. First off, I recommend that you read WP:Other stuff exists (not to mention that Fundageek hasn't received a fraction of Kickstarter's media attention).

Thanks for the suggestions. I sincerely appreciate your time. FundaGeek launched Nov of last year. Kickstarter started in May of '09. Hopefully as time goes by FG will grow to be as important. I'd like to see brainiactics get a shot at developing their ideas without having to sign them over to a University or mega Corp. It's great to watch Kickstarter help artists of all medias maintain ownership of their creative assets (IP) I will read your recommendations. Thanks again. My thoughts re the above:

Which page are you talking about? If you're referring to Ryan Sharma, it's not your page. If you're referring to User talk:JaThFi, I've done nothing there but add standard User talk page templates: {{W-graphical}}, {{Firstredirect}}, {{Db-a10-notice}}, {{Uw-tdel2}}, {{Uw-tdel3}}, and {{Uw-vandalism3}}, to be precise.
She has Personally attacked me
Diffs, please! Violating the No personal attacks policy is a grave accusation, and one that I'd like to see you document. Personally, I don't believe you can.
she keeps on ruining my pages
As mentioned above, Ryan Sharma is not your page. But let's look at your most recent changes to it:
- You changed "nationality = British" to "nationality = British (English)". English is a disambiguation page, and articles should not link to them.
- You removed the italics from the book titles. Manual of Style/Titles says that book titles should be italicized.
- You added the statement "'Robert Muchamore has said that there would be a fourth book in the series if CHERUB fans enjoyed the first three.'" That's a claim which requires a source, which you haven't provided. It's probably also a violation of Wikipedia is not a crystal ball.
- You added a section titled "Phisical Appearance" [sic]. Two sentences about a character does not need to be a section of its own.
- You added a "See Also" [sic] section, which included links to characters from other books (unnecessary) and articles already linked in the body (redundant).
- You added a "Source" section, which only linked to a book already linked in both the lead and the infobox.
- You added an "External links" section, which linked to sites that aren't about the subject of the article.
- You added a {{DEFAULTSORT}} of "CHERUB", which makes no sense. It should have been "Sharma, Ryan" (or something similar).
- You removed the Category:CHERUB characters and replaced it with Category:CHERUB without giving a reason.
- You added Category:Young adult novel series and Category:Junior spy novels, although the topic of the article is not a novel.
- You added nine interlanguage links for an entirely different article.

Given all the above, yes, I reverted your changes.

In general:

You really need to slow down until you learn a little more about how WP works. The very first thing I added to your talk page was a welcome message with a number of links. If you haven't already, I strongly recommend that you read them.
I also recommend that you read Edit summary, Using talk pages, and Show preview.

New Pages update

Hey DoriSmith/Archive 12 :). A quick update on how things are going with the New Page Triage/New Pages Feed project. As the enwiki page notes, the project is divided into two chunks: the "list view" (essentially an updated version of Special:NewPages) and the "article view", a view you'll be presented with when you open up individual articles that contains a toolbar with lots of options to interact with the page - patrolling it, adding maintenance tags, nominating it for deletion, so on.

On the list view front, we're pretty much done! We tried deploying it to enwiki, in line with our Engagement Strategy on Wednesday, but ran into bugs and had to reschedule - the same happened on Thursday :(. We've queued a new deployment for Monday PST, and hopefully that one will go better. If it does, the software will be ready to play around with and test by the following week! :).

On the article view front, the developers are doing some fantastic work designing the toolbar, which we're calling the "curation bar"; you can see a mockup here. A stripped-down version of this should be ready to deploy fairly soon after the list view is; I'm afraid I don't have precise dates yet. When I have more info, or can unleash everyone to test the list view, I'll let you know :). As always, any questions to the talkpage for the project or mine. Thanks! Thank you for moving your comments inline; Proposed additional changes

I'd like to keep working toward a goal of having no comments. I understand I can no longer edit this article. Perhaps I can suggest ways of editing to omit the comments? For instance: Can you please let me know what kind of proof is needed for Berke's 2 partners and principals? A link or reference to the firm's website would show those 4 people, but my understanding is that is not acceptable to the Wikipedia community.

Perhaps we should remove the phrase "creative institutional" - it is a direct quote from a magazine but it can come out if that would improve the sentence and let us be rid of the "buzzword" comment.

As for a third party source needed regarding the firm has won "numerous awards", the rest of the paragraph shows those sources. However, if asserting that the firm has won awards is not appropriate, perhaps remove that sentence and begin the paragraph with the 2nd sentence: "The 21c Museum Hotel...".

Current projects are projects happening right now, as we speak, in 2012. They will be complete over the next 2-3 years respectively. I can provide those dates tomorrow morning if that would be useful?

I am absolutely NOT agree with the answer I received after adding the link to my blog ! I am a collector of barbie and I am very proud to show it ! because there was nothing to find about the barbie Tutti (my favorite), I decided to open a page especially for her, a lot of people were very happy to find some information and were able to complete their collection. There was nothing to find anymore about Tutti after '69, but here in Europe they continued the production. My collection is complete and you will soon see pictures of her with every outfit. I don't understand where the problem is ! the other link "tutti's playhouse" have done the same work as I did and have asked help to complete her blog with pictures of the european outfits for Tutti, and I WILL NOT give her them, she can buy them like I did ! She has the same blog as mine but mine is complete ! So, again, I don't understand why is the link to my blog for the Tutti page not allowed ! my blog is in french but easy to translate ! people could find me on google with writting barbie tutti sets, but now NOT anymore... why ???????????????? because I tried to add the link of my blog ? ! After a few pages it has nothing to do with barbie anymore and my blog is not to find (only with my name) ! and I am not happy with it my blog has nothing to do with promotion or selling !

See WP:EL#ADV: "in line with Wikipedia policies, you should avoid linking to a site that you own, maintain, or represent—even if Wikipedia guidelines seem to imply that it may otherwise be linked. When in doubt, you may go to the talk page and let another editor decide. This suggestion is in line with Wikipedia's conflict-of-interest guidelines."

and WP:ELNO #11 which says that we should not have: "Links to blogs, personal web pages and most fansites, except those written by a recognized authority. (This exception for blogs, etc., controlled by recognized authorities is meant to be very limited; as a minimum standard, recognized authorities always meet Wikipedia's notability criteria for people.)"

blp prods

unsourced BLPs for members of any important sports team, at least from English-speaking countries, can always be sourced. . I consequently removed your BLP prod on Adrian Taylor after adding one of the available refs. You could have done it. It's a lot of work checking the prods, and it needs some degree of cooperation by other people not prodding sourceable articles. That way, I & the very few other admins who have taken the responsibility for patrolling prod, can concentrate on the ones that may be more difficult to source, and more accurately remove the unsourceable. And since many of the prods turn out to be for players who are in fact not notable, the quickest way of removing them is to add the ref, see if they are notable , and prod accordingly. User Ashashyou

I noticed that you replaced the speedy delete notice at Flint stone bracelets and armlets of Egypt with a copyvio investigation notice. Looking at Ashashyou (talk · contribs)'s recent edits, I notice some massive copyvio at Nawamis and more copyvio in other articles recently, mainly reverted. I think you're mistaken about the first part—I requested the speedy deletion as a WP:CSD#G12, but User:JohnCD removed it and added the current copyvio note. Why, I don't know.

I noticed the copyvio at Nawamis and Ancient Egypt as well and reverted them both, but someone probably ought to go through much of this guy's past contributions and see how much damage he's caused elsewhere. Dori ☾Talk ⁘ Contribs☽ 18:25, 14 May 2012 (UTC)

Artical for publication, Nikhil Sen

I have submitted this article. There is no conventional publications which can be quoted as a reference, so I have used my personal interviews with him and a publication of the College (Senior School) that he has help establish and is involved in. Apparently this doesn't satisfy Wikipedia standards for publications. Please advise how I can overcome this difficulty.

Sounds to me like you might want to have a talk with your publisher, as they clearly don't know as much about Wikipedia as they think they do. But to answer your question: yes, autobiographies are generally consider to be a Very Bad Idea. Dori ☾Talk ⁘ Contribs☽ 10:33, 22 May 2012 (UTC)

Hey all :). A notification that the prototype for the New Pages Feed is now live on enwiki! We had to briefly take it down after an unfortunate bug started showing up, but it's now live and we will continue developing it on-site.

The page can be found at Special:NewPagesFeed. Please, please, please test it and tell us what you think! Note that as a prototype it will inevitably have bugs - if you find one not already mentioned at the talkpage, bring it up and I'm happy to carry it through to the devs. The same is true of any additions you can think of to the software, or any questions you might have - let me know and I'll respond.

hi Dori,

thanks for your patience. my friends were in super panic mode about getting their page deleted, so I (the newbie) tried to get it cleaned up from a text perspective, (making it objective) but then ran into a reference list issue late last night.

I will ramp up on wiki so I will not screw the page up again, and will be using a good wiki writer to fix everything so the article is worthy of readership and your approval.

I will get on this right away, so please do not delete stew kosoy's page!

William Todd Tribell

Dori,

I was reading through your editing of my article William Todd Tribell. I have researched this subject independently but do not understand some of your changes and hope you can elaborate at least for my benefit.

I can not find any evidence to suggest that he is the CEO of Digital Capital and like the idea but can not substantiate and do not have the experience to suggest that. I couldn't find it anywhere.
I also can not find the evidence to suggest that he is responsible for Eastern Europe, but in the article cited in reference 4, it says "отвечающий за бизнес Oettinger-Davidoff в СНГ и странах Балтии" (CIS and Baltic States = Former Soviet Union) I believe Eastern Europe encompasses a much larger territory including Poland, Bulgaria, etc. Is this correct?

Reference #6 - The author is clearly listed at the bottom of the author - "Cigar Clan 5'2010. Наталья Рыжкова" (Natalya Rizhkova). In reading on this subject to find out about Hendrick Kelner it comes out that he should have a wikipedia page on himself also; maybe we can start one. I will try to work on that in the upcoming days.
Why did you fail verification of point 12? - which reads in regards to the Childrens Hospital Fund: "in support of children with cancer.... a lion sculpted in Kenya drew 3000 euros. The high bid was made by William Todd Tribell, who represents Davidoff Sigars.... he also donated the sigar box" (mentioned before in the article)

P.S. while researching this subject... i have noticed two semi-related articles which are far less documented than that of Tribel. Avo Uvezian and Davidoff which have no citations to speak of and tons of information. If Tribell heads DCC, and he's not DCC's president or COO, then (imo), he's the CEO—particularly given that all three articles were posted on the same day (1 February 2012). There may be other explanations, but I can't think of one.
If you take a look at Eastern Europe, it says itself that:
The term has widely disparate geopolitical, geographical, cultural and socioeconomic readings
As the article says later, Poland can be considered to be part of Eastern or Central Europe, and Bulgaria as part of Eastern, Central, or Southeastern Europe. My take: this is all part of the lead, so it's okay to be general—specifics go in the article body.

Personally, I don't see that that is sufficient to support:

There's a number of problems here (again, imo): "back" usually means that someone went away; a car detailer working out of a parking structure normally would sound to me like just a couple of guys with buckets and rags; and there's nothing about "relocation" or "a revived Downtown area"; etc.
There's a couple of reasons here: First, note that the date next to Natalya Rizhkova's name at the bottom of the article isn't the same as the article date. So what is it? Well, if you take a look at other articles on their site, such as this one, and scroll down to the bottom, you can see that that's the credit for the images, not the credit for the writer. The author name is over on the right-hand side: "Hendrik Kelner." Or at least that's the way it reads to me.
Okay, here's your translation:

I don't see how that supports:
After Estonia's independence from the Soviet Union, Tribell was an early supporter of the Tallinn Children's Hospital Foundation where during its infancy, he introduced the foundation to members of the corporate community who he encouraged, by example, to donate both time and money.
Given that Estonia declared their independence in 1988 and this event took place twelve years later, it doesn't make him "an early supporter", nor does donating one item to and purchasing one item at a single charity auction describe "[introducing] the foundation to members of the corporate community" or an encouragement of them to donate time. Perhaps that's all in the other Estonian article, but I don't have access to it.

The answer to your PS is covered by Other stuff exists—just because hundreds of crappy articles exist doesn't mean that others get a pass. The good news: everybody's got to start somewhere, so feel free to jump in and start fixing things!

Only the article call him a co-founder.

I have re-read the entire article. Apparently, you are partially right. He sold the business before to someone else and it "ceased to be" in some time. He re-registered the company and made a deal with some officials to re-open it in that Downtown area. According to the article he moved to that area to live as well which is what gave me the impression i mentioned: "To show support and enthusiasm for his downtown adventure, Tribell has moved into the downtown historic district". According to the article, he had a real business etc. I also found records with the local government there that support that he had a real business. The article mentioned the business was subcontracted by a city contractor, so i am guessing that was a real business. It also mentioned he had four employees working for him, so logically if he was working with the city at arms length and he had empolyees, it had to be real.
I looked at this again, lucky for me; I am half Russian - so i can read those pages... The right hand side you refer to is a promotion for a blog. I looked at other articles and found different authors for different ones. I will leave that up to you.
Estonia was only separated from Russia in reality in 1994. https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/en.html I am not trying to indicate that he was an early supporter of Estonian independence (maybe my bad) but rather that he was actively supporting the Childrens hospital at a time that no body cared about anything other than stealing land and factories from the government. Even today, even teh rich dont care about charity in these countries unless it is convenient. I know i cant include this, but it is known that he gave money to the hospital then and worked with a member of parliament to get big companies like Coca Cola and MacDonalds involved; according to the former director there. I will try to re-write this to make more sense to you.

I was thinking to start the 'Hendrik Kelner' i mentoned earlier. There is a good amount of info on him. Maybe you could collaborate with me to give me guidance once i get something up? This wikipedia stuff takes a lot more time than i thought and is somehow a little addictive. You seem to be really experienced and have obviously been doing this for a long time.
