Hawkins was a great drummer and did some amazing things...but that doesn't change the fact that you can't be an active member of a band when you're no longer alive... Sergecross73msg me 21:01, 24 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Taylor Hawkins needs to be moved from past member to member on the right side of the page, he did not get removed from the band just because he passed away. 192.154.63.79 (talk) 03:16, 7 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Well, lookee here. An editor on the Pixies (band) article has led me to this bit of the WP:THE guideline:
If a band is officially known without a definite article, but the members typically refer to their group as "the (Name)" in everyday speech, then the definite article should be included in running prose.
I love this guideline because it offers a solution to a long-running inconsistency on Wikipedia. As I noted the last time I brought this up, the band members seem to use the definite article. Any objections to me changing all the mentions of "Foo Fighters" to "the Foo Fighters"? Popcornfud (talk) 22:40, 26 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I believe my stance is the same as before. No objections. Sergecross73msg me 23:42, 26 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I would also go further to say that the band members use as such is nice, but per WP:UCN and the like, we only really need a preponderance of reliable sources that use the article. --Jayron32 14:02, 17 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Extend the end date of Drew Hester to 2010, add Jessy Greene ( 2007 - 2010) to former touring members, create "current touring members" and add Barbara Gruska, Samantha Sidley, Laura Mace ( 2017 - present ) to the section Brocodeguy (talk) 13:39, 17 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Not done - You need to provide reliable sources to verify all of this. Sergecross73msg me 14:00, 17 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Under awards and nominations, the first sentence should say they've won 14 other Grammy Awards after their first. The second sentence should say they've won Best Rock Album 5 times and list Medicine At Midnight as the 5th. Since they have now won Best Rock Songs 3 times, as many times as they've won Best Hard Rock Performance, that should be listed as a notable category where they've won multiple times and list those songs "Walk", "Run", and "Waiting On A War". The citation on for these sentences is also a dead link and can be replaced with this archived link to the Foo Fighters page on the Grammy website: https://web.archive.org/web/20231210020234/https://www.grammy.com/artists/foo-fighters/14694Logogeo96 (talk) 00:08, 7 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
