Could you explain why you believe Image:Napalm AirStrike South Vietnam 1966.jpg is a public domain image? Is it the work of a government/military photographer? Rmhermen 14:40, Mar 8, 2005 (UTC)

May I ask why you claim Image:Dawsons Field hijacking.jpg and Image:Abdullah Sungkar.jpg are public domain? I noticed your claim that the second photograph is ineligible for copyright, although it looks like a recent photograph. Thuresson 19:30, 29 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Harmeet Singh Sooden

Thanks for your additions to the Harmeet Singh Sooden article based on his interview on stuff.co.nz. I think its important to keep this article up to date as Sooden does further interviews with the press. However, I think we need a source for the Stockholm Syndrome allegations. Wikipedia is not a place for original research, so if we're claiming that someone is alleging that Sooden has the Stockholm Syndrome, we need to say who is making the allegation and cite it. mennonot 22:51, 2 April 2006 (UTC)

Auckland meetup

Just to let you know that a meetup is planned in Auckland for the 25th of June (see Wikipedia:Meetup/Auckland for more details), and that you are cordially invited. GeorgeStepanek\talk 00:21, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

I'm slowly, but surely, along with several others, working my way through the Solomon Islands campaign battles, trying to improve them and at least get them all up to "good article" status. However, I'm not sure how to find resources on the Battle of the Treasury Islands, which I understand mainly involved forces from New Zealand. Since that's where you're from, would you consider putting this article on your "to do" list, or, alternatively, pointing me to some web or print resources that I could use to allow that article to be completed? Thank you in advance, Cla68 17:46, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

Image Tagging for Image:Tiger force.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Tiger force.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

Welcome to the Military history WikiProject!

Hi, and welcome to the Military history WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to military history.

A few features that you might find helpful:

There are a variety of interesting things to do within the project; you're free to participate however much—or little—you like:

  • Starting some new articles? Our article structure guidelines outline some things to include.
  • Interested in working on a more complete article? The military history peer review and collaboration departments would welcome your help!
  • Interested in a particular area of military history? We have a number of task forces that focus on specific nations or periods.
  • Want to know how good our articles are? The assessment department is working on rating the quality of every military history article in Wikipedia.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask one of the project coordinators, or any experienced member of the project, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! Kirill Lokshin 13:15, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

does a Terrorism subject exist in University ?

do you study "terrorism" AND "computer science"¿? how weird XD

re: deletion of conservative notice board

Yes, it was deleted unfortunately and unfairly.

See Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Incidents#Wikipedia:Conservative_notice_board (main)

Re: Question regarding template

{{WikiProjectBattles}} is just a redirect to {{WPMILHIST}} that's been around since the days when we were still only WikiProject Battles. You might go ahead and change it to the new form if you're updating the tags anyways, just for the sake of consistency, but I wouldn't bother actively going through to replace its use, since it's functionally indistinguishable. Iraq and the War on Terrorism

Wikipedia:WOT is up for vote now. Rangeley 00:16, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

Nope, not in use; I had no idea it existed, quite frankly. We should probably replace it with {{Infobox Military Conflict}} on the handful of articles that still use it and then send it to WP:TFD. Kirill Lokshin 00:06, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

Bravo! Thanks for the help! Kirill Lokshin 01:22, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

Malta Convoys

You recently added the cleanup tag to this article. Could you be more specific, please? Any comments either to the Malta Convoys talk page or to mine. The original idea was to give an overview of the "campaign" and link, where possible, to the specific articles on individual actions. Thanks. Folks at 137 17:19, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

Unspecified source for Image:Tenerife Disaster Collision aftermath 27 March 1977.png

Thanks for uploading Image:Tenerife Disaster Collision aftermath 27 March 1977.png. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.Bkell (talk) 19:19, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Vanity Fair Cover with Cruise Family.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. Hello, I have marked this image for speedy deletion, because it does not have a valid fair use rationale. Note that the fair use tag you placed on the image is only valid for discussion or criticism of the station displayed, not for criticism of the subject displayed. You could use this image in an article about CNN reporting, or even about TV reporting, but not about the current event itself.

If you can find footage of this event which is available under a less restrictive license, please add it. Thanks again. Vectro 21:39, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
