I removed some of the advocacy, both here and in the article on Timothy Caulfield. WP articles provides accurate information on health issues, emphasising the scientific perspective, but they do not advocate for them. A plain factual presentation without highlighted quotes or repetition best gives the readers the information. DGG ( talk ) 10:14, 7 January 2019 (UTC)

There is still a lot of promotionalism there. One of the ways I define promotionalism is that promotional writing is what the subject would like readers to know about himself, in contrast to encyclopedic writing, which is what a general reader might want to know. A key example in the current text is anecdotes. They're good anecdotes, and express views that we both probably wholeheartedly agree with. You're obviously a trained writer, and use them effectively, better than I could, and the entire article with them included would be perfect--for some other place.

I find it harder to write objectively about things I like, than those I do not; I therefore prefer to deal with things of importance, in fields where I know something but which I do not greatly care about specifically, or to make the sort of copyedits that would improve any article. Description of the Correactology correction

You say snapping of the fingers??? This is very inaccurate. The practitioner places his hand on a specific area of the body and proceeds to apply a corrective momentum as to stimulate the receptors of the skin. This in return causes a cascade of events which ultimately changes the behaviour of the body’s proteins. This mechanisms viability is often proven during Bruce Lipton’s lectures eg. Biology of belief. Nowhere on the informational website does it mention snapping of the fingers. I am a patient and I thought that this needed to be addressed. Otherwise, good work. Thank you. I was surprised by the finger-snapping, but it does come up in the conversation between the CBC reporter and the show host in the audio news report I used as one of the sources. Perhaps different practitioners use different techniques. I can only go with what reliable secondary sources (i.e. not the commercial website of the founders) tell us. @SarahW2019: Hello SarahW2019! As Shalor explained on your Talk page, the article may not clearly establish the notability of this artist (why there should be a wikipedia article about her). Many articles considered for deletion can be saved (I've done it a few times). I think you know what to do: find more mentions of her work in credible sources and add those to the article. A solid profile in a well-known art publication would really help, if it exists. I'll have a look today or tomorrow. "Attempted" de-orphan

Hi! I've noticed you've been doing a lot of work in the orphan categories recently, which is great. Can I make a suggestion with regards to de-orphaning of Indian and Pakistani villages? There are quite a lot of them, and they're actually tremendously easy to de-orphan in groups if you're willing to do a bit of scut-work. It's a lot more productive than tagging them as "attempted" and walking away. The trick is creating a simple navbox for the district (like {{Sonbhadra district}}), filling it out from the appropriate "villages in X district" and "cities and towns in X district" categories, and slapping it on every village and town article in the district. With some you can get 10-15 de-orphaned at once, depending on how many villages are in the district. ♠PMC♠ (talk) 10:49, 12 August 2020 (UTC)

Yep, per the five pillars we're a gazetteer, among other things, so the notability guideline for geography says "populated, legally recognized places are typically presumed to be notable, even if their population is very low". Conceivably you could try to merge them all into the relevant district article, but my guess is it'd be a lot of pointless work and you'd get a hell of a lot of pushback eventually. And of course, what happens if they get redistricted, which happens from time to time? Even more annoying to fix than it already is. All together, not worth mucking about with, in my opinion. ♠PMC♠ (talk) 11:18, 12 August 2020 (UTC)

Ah, so, {{Jaunpur district}} is one of the horribly-formatted existing ones I occasionally come across that needs to be reworked into something more like {{Sonbhadra district}}, where cities/towns and villages are separated in the navbox. It's nonsensical for a navbox to link to another bunch of navboxes, so that entire second section labelled "other districts" should be stripped out and replaced with the list of the district's villages, like I've done at the Sonbhadra navbox. I usually change the title to "Populated places in X district" as well.

You can cheat and make this process less tedious by going into Category:Villages in Jaunpur district, selecting all of them at one, and copy-pasting that into your sandbox in Visual Editor mode. This preserves the bullet point and the link markup so you don't have to individually type out * [[Some village]] a hundred times. Then remove the headers and disambiguators (also usually easier to do in VE). Finally, switch to the regular text editor and copy-paste the newly-formatted list into the navbox under "villages". Now you have all the villages neatly placed into the navbox all at once and you can simply go through the navbox systematically making sure each article is de-orphan-tagged and has the navbox in it. ♠PMC♠ (talk) 23:53, 12 August 2020 (UTC)

You're probably not aware of this change, but Days of the Year pages now require direct reliable sources for additions. For details see the content guideline, the WikiProject Days of the Year style guide or the edit notice on any DOY page. Almost all new additions without references are now being reverted on-sight.

Please do not add new additions to these pages without direct sources as the burden to provide them is on the editor who adds or restores material to these pages.

Rejuvenate WikiProject Skepticism

Hello - my name is Susan Gerbic (Sgerbic) and I'm writing to you because at some point you joined Wikipedia:WikiProject Skepticism. This might have been months ago - or even years ago. With the best of intentions the project was created years ago, and sadly like many WikiProjects has started to go dormant. A group of us are attempting to revitalize the Skepticism project, already we have begun to clean up the main page and I've just redone the participant page. No one is in charge of this project, it is member directed, which might have been the reason it almost went dormant. We are attempting to bring back conversations on the talk page and have two subprojects as well, in the hopes that it might spark involvement and a way of getting to know each other better. One was created several years ago but is very well organized and a lot of progress was made, Wikipedia:WikiProject Skepticism/Skeptical organisations in Europe. The other I created a couple weeks ago, it is very simple and has a silly name Wikipedia:WikiProject Skepticism/Skepticism Stub Sub-Project Project (SSSPP). This sub-project runs from March 1 to June 1, 2022. We are attempting to rewrite skepticism stubs and add them to this list. As you can see we have already made progress.

The reason I'm writing to you now is because we would love to have you come back to the project and become involved, either by working on one of the sub-projects, proposing your own (and managing it), or just hanging out on the talk page getting to know the other editors and maybe donate some of your wisdom to some of the conversations. As I said, no one is in charge, so if you have something in mind you would like to see done, please suggest it on the talk page and hopefully others will agree. Please add the project to your watchlist, update your personal user page showing you are a proud member of WikiProject Skepticism. And DIVE in, this is what the work list looks like [3] frightening at first glance, but we have already started chipping away at it.

The Wikipedia:WikiProject Skepticism/Participants page has gone though a giant change - you may want to update your information. And of course if this project no longer interests you, please remove your name from the participant list, we would hate to see you go, but completely understand.

Terrific - I did a longish spot check last week and was able to remove many from the list that were no longer stubs. Superstition

Greetings and thanks for taking up this article update.

• I had updated this to do list, I am keenly interested in Superstition and religion related article expansions, so requesting your visit to Draft:Irrational beliefs and Draft:Superstitions in Christian societies and help expand as per your interest and convenience.
• One difficulty while updating superstition related other articles is some users insistently ask to show word superstition in the source. That is why we need to have a comprehensive and stable definition @ main Superstition article lead so while updating other articles we would be able to say such and such component falls under definition of superstition.

Not in my opinion, no. As I wrote on the Talk page (where this discussion should be taking place), what we have now is either various incarnations of his own bio, or tiny mentions in articles from low-quality sources. It's a common problem, nothing to fret about - but the article does need better sources. Just adding links to posts the topic wrote himself won't change that, nothing useful was added since another editor put the template up, so it should remain there.
