Response[edit]

Hi! I'm not sure if you're a student or not - if so, definitely let me know which class you're in so I can add you to the class roster. In any case, here's my advice on the article:

This needs independent and reliable sources such as newspaper articles about Able to show notability. Coverage of her work in academic and scholarly sources would also be good. Primary sources can't show notability since they would be written by Able or people/organizations who are affiliated with her. The only exception would be if a major museum had a listing for her work that shows that they currently hold a piece of her work in their permanent records or that she was a major part of a notable exhibition.

Part of the the issue with finding sourcing is that so much of the content out there is primary and claims that could give notability are vague, specifically the claims of her exhibiting at some major museums. Neither specify when the exhibitions took place, so it's hard to locate any record of this. I was able to locate the sourcing for one, however it ended up that it wasn't an exhibition in the way that the notability guidelines are meant to cover. It was more of a showing at an event as opposed to it being an exhibition in one of their galleries. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 15:07, 1 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Carrie Able[edit]

I will try and take a look later this evening, when I have some time to do research. In the meantime, I think Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk · contribs) has some good advice in the post above this. I might also look for museum collections - is Able's work owned by any museums? That would go a good way towards establishing some notability. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 13:58, 3 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Another thought, too: you might ask over at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Women in Red for some other people to look at the article. More pairs of eyes is always a good thing. :-) --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 14:00, 3 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
