On Whitewashing page

Dear mister Serols

Please do not undo my changes on that page which boycots the objective essence of Wikipedia, by bringing in Social Justice Warriors on this site, meant for objective information, and not to spread paranoid racist and blaguant lies from Tumblr.

Significant Mother

For some reason you didn't think adding synopsis or a future episode to significant mother was constructive but I don't understand that. Having a synopsis and knowing what episode comes next is very relevant. And as a co-creator of the show I feel like my information would be pretty accurate. Thanks!

Information icon Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made to Michelle Pfeiffer: you may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Thank you.  —SMALLJIM  14:32, 29 March 2015 (UTC)

Unsourced Information

Wikipedia articles must be based on reliable sources[edit] Reliable sources are credible published materials with a reliable publication process; their authors are generally regarded as trustworthy or authoritative in relation to the subject at hand. How reliable a source is depends on context. In general, the most reliable sources are books and journals published by universities; mainstream newspapers; and university level textbooks, magazines and journals that are published by known publishing houses. What these have in common is process and approval between document creation and publication. As a rule of thumb, the more people engaged in checking facts, analyzing legal issues, and scrutinizing the writing, the more reliable the publication. Material that is self-published is generally not regarded as reliable, but see below for exceptions. Any unsourced material may be removed, and in biographies of living persons unsourced or poorly sourced contentious material must be removed immediately. Wikipedia does not publish original research or original thought[edit] Original research refers to material that is not attributable to a reliable, published source. This includes unpublished facts, arguments, ideas, statements, and neologisms; and any unpublished analysis or synthesis of published material that appears to advance a position. Material added to articles must be directly and explicitly supported by the cited sources. Note the difference between unsourced material and original research: Unsourced material is material not yet attributed to a reliable source. It is unattributed but may be attributable. Original research is material that cannot be attributed to a reliable source. It is unattributable. The only way to demonstrate that material is not original research is to cite reliable sources that provide information directly related to the topic of the article, and to adhere to what those sources say. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CopperPhantom (talkcontribs) 22:50, 13 June 2015 (UTC)

Hello Sabananach, please read Wikipedia:External links. Regards --Serols (talk) 12:05, 14 June 2015 (UTC)

I read the article about external links and the link I added fully complies with the objective. It is a link to a website that teaches and introduces people to a further understanding and experience of nanach. I believe this to be a very constructive addition. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sabananach (talkcontribs) 12:15, 14 June 2015 (UTC)

Could you please explain. I am very passionate about nanach and dedicate my life to spreading its message and teachings. Nanach is about happiness joy and belief. The link will enrich a persons search for the meaning behind its message. It is only a minor edit on the page and can only enrich the article. Please understand. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sabananach (talkcontribs) 12:41, 14 June 2015 (UTC)

Bycatch

Why did you delete my slight revision on the definition of bycatch? Either you made a mistake or you have no idea what bycatch is. The sex of the catch is often a determining factor in what is kept and what is put back in many fisheries all over the world. Just one of many examples are most crab fisheries where the male crab are the keepers and females are considered bycatch and are returned to the sea to further populate the biomass. I will revise again. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 166.175.57.186 (talk) 18:12, 18 June 2015 (UTC)

Hello 166.175.57.186, because it´s wrong -> chicken yes, bycatch no. Regards --Serols (talk) 18:30, 18 June 2015 (UTC)
Unfortunately it seems you are quite ignorant of the subject of bycatch. Once again I will revise. Next time you should actually check your facts before assuming you know something that you clearly haven't even researched In the slightest bit as a quick look pulls up multiple examples of the wrong sex being undesireable and therefore bycatch. "In the crab fisheries, crab bycatch includes females of target species, sublegal (small) males of target species, and non-target crab."

GIUSEPPE DANISE as a notable resident of the Ansonia hotel

Hi Serols, I added days ago the name of GIUSEPPE DANISE as a notable resident of the Ansonia hotel (telling me that my contribution "didn’t appear constructive").But you cancelled everything https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Ansonia

Mr Serols please double check Opera history. You probably don't know that GIUSEPPE DANISE "in a generation which boasted so many great Italian baritones, was among the most important ones"... (LEO RIMENS)

http://www.giuseppe-danise.com/giuseppe-danise/by_Leo_Riemens.html

GIUSEPPE DANISE AT ANSONIA HOTEL....FAMILY PICTURES: http://www.giuseppe-danise.com/giuseppe-danise/Family_pics.html http://query.nytimes.com/gst/abstract.html?res=9402E0DA1630E433A2575BC2A9669D946195D6CF

https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denise http://bassocantante.com/opera/danise.html

In a generation which boasted so many great Italian baritones, Giuseppe Danise was among the most important ones, even though today he is undeservedly underrated. (Leo Riemens) Born in Naples, he studied there with Luigi Colonnesi and Abramo Petillo. He made his debut in 1906 at Teatro Bellini as Alfio in Cavalleria Rusticana and over the next decade established himself as one of the leading Italian baritones.

On 17 November, 1920 he made his Met debut as Amanasro in Aïda, (with Destinn, Matzenauer and Martinelli) and remained at the Met for 12 years, sharing most of the big baritone roles with De Luca, Scotti, Basiola, Ruffo and Tibbett. In his first season, one critic wrote of his portrayal of Carlo Gerard in the premiere of Andrea Chenier that he “sang like a true artist and acted like a real man.” During this period Danise remained in the US, singing at the Met during the winter season and at Ravinia in Chicago during the summer.

He bade farewell to the Met on 16 January 1932 as Count di Luna in Il Trovatore and returned to Italy, where, although he had been almost forgotten, he was immediately engaged to sing major roles at La Scala. For the next 13 years he performed at the major houses in Italy with a few essays to Rio de Janiero. After the war he returned to the US and settled in New York. He married Bidú Sayão in 1947 and dedicated himself to the management of her career. He also taught singing in New York, and one of his most famous students was Regina Resnick.

Danise recorded for Brunswick, a company that lacked Victor’s commercial commitment to the classics (especially opera singing), and this is likely a major reason for his not being better known today. Based on those few recordings, however, I have to agree with Leo Riemens’ assessment: “Without a doubt Danise ranks among the best Italian baritones of his generation: he combined the lyricism of De Luca and the dramatic temperament of Scotti with Stracciari’s sonority.” (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mialbini (talkcontribs)

Seattle riot page

I deleted those sections because they used poor sources like professors I couldn't find online and some obscure low-circulation magazine "the Indypendent" to substantiate propositions that use vague terms like "some" and "to many". The propositions both seem to support the same viewpoint, which makes the article look biased.

I think it would be hard to quantify or characterize the success of the events with the sources previously mentioned and the sections I deleted I think failed to, nor do I think this Wikipedia page should necessarily be the forum to attempt that. Consequently, it would be best if the article stuck to the facts. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.72.204.195 (talk) 23:25, 8 August 2015 (UTC)

I just wanted to thank you for reverting a mistake I recently made -- I was attempting to create a page for Wixtend using the source code on the page Wiggio, and I accidentally ended up modifying Wiggio instead of creating a new page. Just wanted to explain why it looked like I sabotaged Wiggio's page -- oops! :) Jpskycak (talk) 17:32, 19 August 2015 (UTC)

Inappropriate user

I noticed that you had appropriately reverted the last two edits made by "SomeoneSmart" to the Jim Jones page. That user had a previous edit made earlier today, which was deleted, and reposted his marginally coherent and non-encyclopedic ramblings to the page again, which you deleted. I doubt if the user is an intentionally malicious vandal, but is likely just a youngster who has no clue what Wikipedia is about. If he or she continues to post, it could create problems. I don't know what the Wikipedia community does in such a circumstance. Have you any suggestions? Activist (talk) 18:32, 28 August 2015 (UTC)

You just deleted a link I posted on the "Vamona Navelcar" page which shows my book "Vamona Navelcar an Artist of Three Continents" which I think is entirely relevant as I am the author of his biography. If I posted in the wrong format I apologise, but please do advise how and where I can post the relevant information as the book is available. Regards

Middle names

A minor point I know, but if you claim that an infobox is the only place to list a person's full name (as per Jesse Joronen), then surely you would have to rectify almost every Wikipedia page to fit along the same lines? 81.96.94.137 (talk) 19:55, 15 September 2015 (UTC)

Hello 81.96.94.137, for you it is important, so it isn´t a minor point. The infobox ist the place for the full name. In the article is the standard to start with the artikel-name, in this case Jesse Joronen. Regards --Serols (talk) 20:13, 15 September 2015 (UTC)
With all due respect, I don't think you've understood what I meant. The way I saw it was that any page relating to a person or business begins with the long/full name. Most other biographical pages include the subject's full name at the start of the article, so I was making the same change to the Joronen page. These are the sorts of edits I usually make, mainly because I'm a pedantic guy and because it mostly isn't the subject of a dispute, and I haven't been made aware in the past of what you just told me. 81.96.94.137 (talk) 20:47, 15 September 2015 (UTC)
Hello 81.96.94.137, the first given name is relevant for the article, not the second one. You'll be able to try it again, but please do not be surprised, if it will be deleted. Regards --Serols (talk) 14:33, 16 September 2015 (UTC)

my edit on Juliette grossman smisek

I feel this page should be removed. Compared to the current celebrities, Juliette does not have nearly enough credits to have a wikipedia. Many much larger film stars pages were removed because of this. She's too young and new to the business to have a large page. She hasn't been involved in any large professional projects, and she shouldn't have a wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.246.180.68 (talk) 01:05, 21 September 2015 (UTC)

For this reason, I've re-added all three to the page. Autorevert

The message that you'd reverted my edit came up when the page loaded immediately after my edit, making it massively impossible that you'd put any consideration into it at all. If you'd looked, you wouldn't object, those sections have been tagged as unsourced (and are unencyclopedic anyway) for more than 3 years. It is simply not possible to think that you put any thought into this revert at all, given how instantly it occured, you presumably just saw IP & section blanking and assumed, wrongly. 2.97.207.175 (talk) 15:10, 27 September 2015 (UTC)

And now you have accused me of vandalism. This sort of instant authoritarian judgement is why people don't contribute anymore....you should NEVER accuse someone of vandalism without even looking at the edit. 2.97.207.175 (talk) 15:12, 27 September 2015 (UTC)

Hi. I reverted your unexplained revert. Take the time to read WP:REPEATLINK. Also, song titles always have quote marks around them. I don't know why you reverted, but it was incorrect for you to do so. Please actually review edits in the future instead of knee-jerk reverting them. You are absolutely wrong. Here is the edit in question. You can clearly see that I removed a duplicated wikilink and added quote marks around a song title. Again, review an edit before reverting. 198.169.127.201 (talk) 15:52, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
You don´t understand me - there ist no difference to see at the artikel. Regards --Serols (talk) 15:55, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
You are right, I don't understand you. What do "ist" and "artikel" mean? Are you saying that the article looked the same after my edit? Because that is incorrect, the article had one less wikilink and one more set of quote marks. It absolutely looked different. Please explain to me exactly what the issue was with my edit, in detail. 198.169.127.201 (talk) 16:01, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
Sorry, but there is definitely no difference to see, but no matter, let´s finsh it. Regards --Serols (talk) 16:09, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
You haven't even looked at the diff I provided, have you? Instead of obstinately holding to your claim that there is "no difference", click the diff I provided above, and you will see the difference. Open up the version of the article prior to my edit, and then the version after my edit (before your incorrect revert). Visually compare the two. It may be a small difference, but it is different: one less wikilink, one more set of quote marks.
You need to put more effort into reviewing edits prior to reverting them, and only revert them if they truly are unconstructive. And if you are challenged on a revert, take the time to actually explain your revert, in detail (instead of typing these half-sentences full of spelling errors). And if you are wrong (and in this case you are 100% wrong), apologize and learn from the experience. 198.169.127.201 (talk) 16:19, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
And if you are wrong (and in this case you are 100% wrong), apologize and learn from the experience. I know enough, but I saw, that it´s better to buy glasses - I compared the wrong version, sorry. Regards --Serols (talk) 16:52, 23 November 2015 (UTC)

As per text given in initial lines of this article.. these 3 r necessary for a Gagra Choli. So definitely my Priyanka is wearing gagra choli. Now the reason i put it as main pic is that its always better to have a modeern day pic as the main pic of wiki article rather than having a decades old black & white pic. I think u made a mistake by cancelling my edit.117.197.39.62 (talk) 15:17, 6 December 2015 (UTC)

Apple Watch

Serols, you immediately reverted my reversion of an apparent vandalism or incompetent edit by user 216:226:127:71 to article Apple Watch. In fact, the last good page edit was made on 6:18 December 7, 2015. All subsequent edits require reversion because they created or resulted in invalid page content. Please refer to the current version of the Apple Watch article which nonsensically starts as follows…

According to analyst firm Canalys.[10][11]

The goal of the Apple Watch…

…i.e. the opening paragraph is grammatically incorrect and, in any case, has no meaning. Kindly refrain from interfering with my efforts to return the page to sensible form and content. I would appreciate confirmation that you will refrain from interfering with my efforts to return the cited article to good form.

Hello Dejandra, sorry for my revert, but your attempt was a bit unfortunate. I restore an older version of the Apple Watch. Thank you for your attention. Regards --Serols (talk) 19:18, 9 December 2015 (UTC)

Shmuly Yanklowitz Page Edit

HI. You recently reverted my edit to Shmuly Yanklowitz's page. There has been somebody going in and adding a lot of negative information, to the point of the page losing it's neutral tone. This anonymous editor includes their own commentary instead of straight facts, and it borders on vandalism in my estimation. Namely this line: "his conversion and status as a Jew is, at best, highly questionable." - Hi, That line comes only after many sources that lead up to it. I actually think it is not a neutral page if it continues to censor all the bad press this person has gotten.

Hi,

Thanks for getting back. I'm new-ish so please understand I am still learning! Please look at the tone that is used for the new edits. There is an action taken by the subject of the page, and the poster interprets negatively. These opinions are sourced, but does having a negative interpretation of the subject not indicate there is something, while not vandalism, something not right with the edits? I am just wondering.

Hello Fropals1, I reverted this edit -> no comment and no references -> bot-message ((Tag: possible BLP issue or vandalism)). Hindsight was your edit correctly and please sign your comments. --Serols (talk) 16:42, 9 January 2016 (UTC)

Stadium pictures

Dear Serols, I'm just trying to make the stadium pages on Wikipedia better. A lot of pages don't have stadium pictures, and it's complicated to add pictures on the Wikipedia page. That's why it's better in my opinion to add some links to the most complete stadium websites, which have plenty of pictures for those who want to see how the stadiums look like. Kind regards, user farmnation

Hello Farmnation, most of the article have pictures and it´s easy to upload a picture in wikipedia. More than 90% your edits were inserting your links. Sorry, but I think this is only link-spam, also in wikipedia.de.. Regards --Serols (talk) 15:05, 25 January 2016 (UTC)

Thank you for your response Serols, I understand your concerns. But it's hard to find pictures which I can add to Wikipedia, because of copyright violations etcetera. And it's a lot of work. Maybe I can only add picture links to pages which don't have pictures yet, if you are okay with that? There are some good stadium websites with nice pictures, which could help Wikipedia users finding decent and up-to-date pictures of the venues easily. Greetings, farmnation.

  • From my talk page (diff):

Hello Northamerica1000, how are you? Perhaps you can help me. More than 90% of Farmnation edits are inserting two links. I think it´s link-spam. Are you also in my opinion? Please see also my talk-page. Regards --Serols (talk) 15:24, 25 January 2016 (UTC)

I have decided to reply here, to keep the conversation in one place. From spot-checks, I think the links being added to the External links sections are all right, as long as they conform to WP:ELYES, particularly point #3 there, as long as they are added conservatively, and as long as Farmnation is not affiliated with the various sites being added. From what I've seen, the links being added do not contain advertising, promotional content, etc., and the content appears to be accurate, neutral and relevant to an encyclopedic understanding of the subjects. Some of the links I checked out that have been added include: http://stadiumdb.com/stadiums/ger/gruenwalder_stadion, http://www.worldofstadiums.com/asia/china/guizhou/guiyang-olympic-sports-centre-stadium/, http://www.worldofstadiums.com/south-america/argentina/estadio-antonio-vespucio-liberti/, and others. Now that you have left these messages and can see why it appears that I am vandalizing the Draft:Alfred Clement Stewart page. What I did was copy and paste the HTML from Thomas Edison's wiki page. List of tallest buildings in Kolkata reverts

Hi, the reverts (1 and 2) which you made on the page List of tallest buildings in Kolkata were not vandalism at all. They were certainly botched attempts by Wonderbank to add references to the page, but I'm not sure how you managed to view them as vandalism in this manner. All Saints Church Edit

Regarding your reinstatement of the removed content. That content was removed because some of the content is subjective and not wholly factual. Including that content isn't constructive or helpful either to the church or to the individual concerned, indeed it might even have a negative impact on that individuals chances of finding another 'position'. The content could be considered as an 'act of revenge' by either the individual or one of their supporters and I'm sure Wiki would not want to be seen to be facilitating such actions. So, ideally it would be preferable for all concerned parties if the article was removed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.38.97.200 (talk) 21:37, 17 February 2016 (UTC)

You deleted an edit that reflected MLS' decision to re-name the expansion team that will start in Minnesota in 2017 or 2018. You called it "un-constructive," which suggests to me that you didn't read the reference as it is clear as day that the team will NOT BE CALLED UNITED when it enters MLS. This means that all references to the club as "Minnesota United" are inaccurate. This isn't a subtle interpretation. The name "United" will in no way be used and the title of the page should be changed to reflect this as well. http://www.twincities.com/2016/02/20/whats-in-minnesota-united-fcs-name-depends-on-who-you-ask/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dgrollins (talkcontribs) 16:21, 23 February 2016 (UTC)

Chams

When I looked at the revision history, I noticed a minor dispute between you and user:95.248.84.186 since I just recently did a minor edit. Actually, in this case, the IP is correct because they are removing one paragraph about one person's point of view who does not even have a Wikipedia page or is well known (a Google Search yields only 239,000 result and even there are different Hassan A Kasem present). This would be giving undue weight and I found that this is used in other pages such as Cambodia–Vietnam relations to smear Vietnam so that is also biased and undue weight. As well, if you read the paragraph, it is not related to Chams, it is a paragraph dedicated to bashing Vietnam for its invasion of Cambodia and has the typical comment that certain Cambodian political parties (e.g Sam Rainsy) have by claiming the Cambodian officials are actually Vietnamese which has not been proven. The way I see it, it is criticizing Vietnam for ideological purposes with little evidence to back up certain ridiculous claims. Ssbbplayer (talk) 15:36, 27 February 2016 (UTC)

Be careful ;-)

Hi, Serols! I wanted to point out an edit that you reverted and then warned the editor citing vandalism. While the edit is clearly COI (he created the FreeDatamap article himself, which is now tagged for CSD per G11), it isn't blatant vandalism. I just wanted to leave you a message about it. Some editors are huge sticklers when it comes to using rollback without an edit summary; I just don't want it to come back to bite you later. Also, Huggle 3.1.20 has been released (I noticed that you're still using 3.1.19). You might want to grab it if you're interested and want to keep it up-to-date. Anyways, that's my two cents. Thanks for patrolling vandalism, and happy editing! :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 10:52, 2 April 2016 (UTC)

Albuquerque revert

Hello Serols,

I believe you have indeed made an honest mistake. No worries! But the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is indeed the largest gathering of hot air balloons, as well as the largest yearly event held in Albuquerque. The current wording doesn't reflect that fact, and signs it of as just another balloon event. Therefore, I believe the edit was indeed constructive, as well as appropriate. In the interest of avoiding an apparent 'edit-war', I will wait a few days before re-reverting, lest for some reason you still have objections.

All the best, Kehkou (talk) 19:22, 13 April 2016 (UTC)

Kehkou: The reversion of this edit was undoubtedly based on the addition of the nickname, "Worst place to live," and the profanity added to the City Council parameter. This is clear vandalism of the page. Laszlo Panaflex (talk) 20:04, 13 April 2016 (UTC)
Your edit appears to have incorporated two previous edits by a vandal IP that had been reverted before your edit. I have re-added the portion of the edit that you apparently intended. Laszlo Panaflex (talk) 20:25, 13 April 2016 (UTC)

Thank you for your diligence in reverting vandalism, and I apologize for any confusion. I did indeed notice this in the revision history. Again, thank you.

Can we talk about Huggle?

I’m reaching out to you because our logs tell us you’re a highly active Huggle user (top 20, actually). The Wikimedia Collaboration Team is researching a project that we hope will be useful to people who use Huggle and others engaged in edit-review and anti-vandalism. Using artificial intelligence programming (in ORES) and other means, we believe we can create feeds of Recent Changes that are better tailored to the type of work you do, helping you to be more effective and efficient. (The technology will have other benefits as well, which we can talk about.)

We're in the early stages of planning this and want to speak with people like yourself to better understand your work, goals and issues. If you’re interested in helping, I’d like to set up a time to meet by video conference, so that you can explain and demonstrate (via screensharing) some of your workflows, and we can ask and answer any questions.

To participate, please email the following information to me, jmatazzoni@wikimedia.org, or send it to designresearch@wikimedia.org:

  • Username
  • city/time zone
  • Best time to talk to you?
  • Email where we can reach you

I included an edit summary on why I removed the picture; you just used an anti-vandalism tool and reverted me without an edit summary. Please be more responsible. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. The artist's improperly scaled drawing contradicts information in the article and confuses the reader. Crowding oF Fight Card Boxes

When you fail to leave enough vertical space above the fight card box, it crashes into the Event box and causes the Card box lines to fold, creating an eyesore that is difficult to read. Please pay attention to the appearance of your Wiki page and add enough vertical spacing so as to set the Card box well below the perimeter of the Event box. Battle of Philippeville

You reverted my change of the Philippeville massacre's to the 'Battle of Phillippeville'. As I said in my comments, there was no battle and to say there was is to be an ideologue and not an historian. Martin Evans, author of 'Algeria: France's undeclared war' refers to it as such on p.140 in a section entitled the Phillippeville Massacre. Alistair Horne, on p.118 of his 'A Savage War of Peace' similarly does so. Why you don't agree I cannot fathom. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2gentrs (talkcontribs) 18:14, 13 July 2016 (UTC)

Don't take it personally, MoRuss95. We have a way of doing things around here to keep things uniform and credible. Ashish Khetan

If you continue to revert my edits to reinsert highly defamatory and unsupported statements (WP:AGF / WP:NLT) about Mr. Khaitan, I will have to take this to ANI or to WMF Legal.

The burden to demonstrate verifiability lies with the editor who adds or restores material, and is satisfied by providing a citation to a reliable source that directly supports the contribution
1) That Ashish Khetan's religion is Christianity.
2) That Ashish Khetan is Vice Chairman of Delhi Dialogue Commission.

By the way, I don't know how to use 'Talk' and I used it wrongly just now on your message to me and I emailed you. My apology. Can I revert back to my edits? Looking forward to your advice.

August 2016

Thank you, Serols. Actually, my edits are correct. The name 'Ming Dao' is a given name when he joined entertainment circle. His given name by his parents is Lin Chaozhang, so his surname (family name) is Lin. The name 'Ming Dao' should be used as 'Ming Dao' and not Ming (or Mr.Ming) as Ming is not his surname. Beside that, I put external link to his Weibo page and his company Weibo page, can I do that? I also put link to the existing write-up to relevant pages. Can I revert back to all I have done? Thank you. Jane Jchong33 (talk) 18:29, 3 August 2016 (UTC)

Hello Jane Jchong33, no can´t revert, because the name must be identical with the article name. You can create a new site with the new name and a redirect form Ming Dao to the new site, but you need references - without it is not possible. Regards

Hi, I saw that there were only resources from the counter-proselytizing side, so I added one from the proselytizing side. I made sub-headings, so that others could add resources, and see the (un)balance. I have moved two more general resources to above the sub-headings. -- 114.248.209.113 (talk) 13:15, 27 August 2016 (UTC)

Hello 114.248.209.113, one sub-heading and under one link is spam. Regards --Serols (talk) 13:19, 27 August 2016 (UTC)
I see. That means I should put more links there? I don't really want to be the one putting the resources there, but I just wanted to be more productive than flagging POV. I'll try to find some other links, such as from Messianic Jews, and add those. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 114.248.209.113 (talk) 13:22, 27 August 2016 (UTC)
Hello 114.248.209.113, please let it be. Regards --Serols (talk) 13:27, 27 August 2016 (UTC)
I am not a native speaker of English, but Wordnik explains "let it be" as "To leave something to follow its natural course." The article as a whole is somewhat biased, and the "Further readings" section is pure anti-proselytization. Definitely not what Wikipedia should be. The "natural course" of Wikipedia is to have people jump in and correct such biases. How can one let Wikipedia run its natural course by telling people to abstain from doing just that? Or am I misunderstanding you? I added a single resource from the other side, from a group mentioned in the article.
In fact, most of the resources are irrelevant: they are not about (counter-)proselytization, but tools for counter-proselytization. I can understand someone rejecting the whole lot of them. But allowing the one and not the other seems weird. (Maybe they should be moved to a section Examples of materials used in (counter-)proselytization.) -- 114.248.209.113 (talk) 13:49, 27 August 2016 (UTC)

Accusation of vandalism: mxschumacher

1. My edit on software aging was a removal of an incorrect apostrophe on line 30. I don't know where the string "lol" came from in the beginning of the article, I made my edit via the mobile web version. I stand by my edit on line 30, feel free to elaborate why you think I made a mistake here. These are very basic corrections of incorrect spelling / use of grammar.

2. Accusing me of vandalism because of my edit on hunger this edit does not make sense to me. The word "forget" is wrong in the context of the article and renders the sentence gramatically incorrect. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mxschumacher (talkcontribs) 13:41, 27 August 2016 (UTC)

Hello Mxschumacher, 2. was the result of 1. -> lol. Regards --Serols (talk) 14:13, 27 August 2016 (UTC)

AIV reports

On a couple of occasions this morning you have reported a user or IP to AIV immediately after giving them a warning but without any intervening edits. Please don't do this. Either they get a last chance and a warning, or they need to be blocked and get reported. Several of your reports I would action but that the warnings you gave immediately before reporting make it seem unfair. Thanks, BethNaught (talk) 07:36, 28 August 2016 (UTC)

Hello BethNaught, can you give me the link please, can be only a copy-mistake. Regards --Serols (talk) 07:41, 28 August 2016 (UTC)
I can give one example[3]. It goes vandalism, vandalism, warning, vandalism, warning, AIV report. Unfortunately, admins are quite used to looking for this sort of thing. -- zzuuzz (talk) 08:05, 28 August 2016 (UTC)
Hello zzuuzz, thank you for the link. That seems to have been a problem with huggle, but I reported the Ip after the third vandlism-edit. Regards --Serols (talk) 08:13, 28 August 2016 (UTC)
The point however is that they had received only one warning at the time they performed the action which would have got them blocked. They were also told that it they didn't stop then they'd get blocked - they did stop, so probably won't get blocked. -- zzuuzz (talk) 08:18, 28 August 2016 (UTC)
Hello zzuuzz, I don't understand your problems. BethNaught means I am not fair and you have a problem with two warnings. But fact is, unfair was the IP with three vandalism-edits opposite to the author, who created the article and the Ip is blocked. I believe, my report to AVI was correctly. Regards --Serols (talk) 14:52, 28 August 2016 (UTC)
As I said before, they only had one 'level 2' warning at the time of their last edit. They were subsequently reported and blocked without possibly even seeing the 'level 3' warning. Consider this scenario: at 2.00pm a vandal does four vandal edits. At 2.05 a user adds four warnings of increasing severity, one for each edit, to the vandal's talk page and then reports to AIV. If you were an admin, would you block? If not why not? -- zzuuzz (talk) 15:10, 28 August 2016 (UTC)
Hello zzuuzz, something's going wrong. Anyway you defend the vandalism IP and you imply that the admin, who had blocked this Ip, has not worked thoroughly. Sorry, but this is not a basis for a discussion. Regards --Serols (talk) 17:04, 28 August 2016 (UTC)

zzuuzz is not defending the vandal. zzuuzz is saying that, when you notice vandalism, you should either warn the user or report them, not do both, and you should make sure an adequate number of warnings have been issued. Do you not see that it is inappropriate to warn someone, telling them they have a last chance, and then report them, so they do not in fact have a last chance? BethNaught (talk) 17:51, 28 August 2016 (UTC)

Hello BethNaught, three vandalism-edits are ok for you? No one has asked the IP to do that. We obviously have different opinions about vandalism - I want it to stop. Regards --Serols (talk) 07:12, 29 August 2016 (UTC)
Why do you not understand what I am saying? Of course you can report a vandal, but if you are reporting them you should not at the same time issue another warning. That's all I'm trying to say. BethNaught (talk) 07:14, 29 August 2016 (UTC)
Hello BethNaught, last vandalism-edit 07:26, 28 August 2016 - reported 07:32, 28 August. Regards --Serols (talk) 07:20, 29 August 2016 (UTC)
Yes, and at 7:32 you also issued a warning, which is what I am asking you not to do. BethNaught (talk) 07:25, 29 August 2016 (UTC)
BethNaught I have no more nerves to discuss. I'm sorry, that I touched the poor vandal IP not with velvet gloves. So what, this is only an article, which made a lot of work: I hope you feel now better. Regards --Serols (talk) 11:16, 29 August 2016 (UTC)

Experimental confirmation

Hi! I've seen your recent reversion of my wording at Gravitational time dilation. Please see my reply on that talk page on section Experimental verification. Have you heard of falsifiability and the fact that there is no such thing as experimental confirmation for empirical propositions, only verification of validity?--82.137.11.190 (talk) 18:23, 31 August 2016 (UTC)

Thanks for your revision to your initial edit.--82.137.11.190 (talk) 18:28, 31 August 2016 (UTC)

Hello 82.137.11.190, sorry - the word test ist here mostly vandalism. Regards --Serols (talk) 18:30, 31 August 2016 (UTC)
Good to know. I wasn't aware of this possibility.--82.137.11.190 (talk) 19:03, 31 August 2016 (UTC)

Be more careful with your reversions

I've reverted your revert of my spelling correction on You Suck At Photoshop (web series), because the word "suck" is actually spelled "suck", not "sucjk" as your edit would have it. Please don't revert obvious improvements like that. 190.193.133.67 (talk) 15:21, 8 September 2016 (UTC)

Hello 190.193.133.67, sorry for my mistake, I didn´t saw the article-name. By the word suck in Wikipedia, I have a nervous finger. Regards --Serols (talk) 15:26, 8 September 2016 (UTC)
Despite your apology, you've apparently reverted my revert of your revert, meanwhile leaving template messages on my user page saying, "Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted or removed". Then you removed your inflammatory messages, and my responses!, from my talk page. This is ridiculous; you are making obviously false accusations and you are edit warring. Please revert your revert, revert your deletion, and leave an apology on my talk page. 190.193.133.67 (talk) 15:30, 8 September 2016 (UTC)
Hello 190.193.133.67, did it. Regards --Serols (talk) 15:40, 8 September 2016 (UTC)
My talk page is still blanked. 190.193.133.67 (talk) 15:42, 8 September 2016 (UTC)
Hello 190.193.133.67, yes, see here. Regars --Serols (talk) 15:45, 8 September 2016 (UTC)

Beat you to the revert! I usually mention WP:PBUH so they understand the why. User talk:90.202.72.223 Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 07:08, 11 September 2016 (UTC)

Hello Jim1138, I think he has stopped. Regards --Serols (talk) 07:17, 11 September 2016 (UTC)
May Peace be upon you! I once went through Wikipedia and cleared out PBUH from 20-30 articles. Got reverted on a couple of accident removals from quotes. Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 07:19, 11 September 2016 (UTC)

I edited out the portion which made it look biased and added sources for the two awards that he received. How is this not constructive? I fail to understand. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Navjotjsingh (talkcontribs) 15:35, 16 September 2016 (UTC)

Hello Navjotjsingh, see here -> tit==Awards and Achievements== . Regards --Serols (talk) 15:43, 16 September 2016 (UTC)
If you are pointing towards the typo then I was about to fix it but you reverted all my edits. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Navjotjsingh (talkcontribs) 15:48, 16 September 2016 (UTC)
Hello Navjotjsingh, such edits are usually vandalism. Use the next one the button Show preview, then this does not happen. Regards --Serols (talk) 07:20, 18 September 2016 (UTC)
