Unit 34 removal

Welcome!

Hello, Rhain1999, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Unit 34, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may soon be deleted.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on this page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Questions or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Nick Wilson (talk) 07:22, 5 January 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Unit 34

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Unit 34 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Nick Wilson (talk) 07:22, 5 January 2011 (UTC)

Unit 34

Hi Rhain1999, I'd like to help you out with your new Unit 34 article if you'd like, but as it stands it's not encyclopedic ("Pre-order Unit 34 DVD's now!" indicates that this article is promoting material). I can move this to a sandbox so it can be worked on without risk of being deleted if you wish. Nick Wilson (talk) 07:37, 5 January 2011 (UTC)

January 2011

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with List of Unit 34 episodes. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion, and make your case on the page's talk page. Thank you. JamesBWatson (talk) 16:05, 5 January 2011 (UTC)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A tag has been placed on We Dance to a Different Disco, Honey requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject of the article is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} at the top of the article, immediately below the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate), and providing your reasons for contesting on the article's talk page, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. You may freely add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

You may want to read the guidelines for specific types of articles: biographies, websites, bands, or companies. JamesBWatson (talk) 16:07, 5 January 2011 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to List of Doctor Who serials, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! I noticed that you recently added a {{hangon}} template to an article, Born Society. In order for an administrator to evaluate whether the article should be speedy deleted or not, we request that you provide reasoning, on the article's talk page, for why it should remain. Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at User:Bonadea, you may be blocked from editing. bonadea contributions talk 12:23, 1 April 2011 (UTC)

This is your last warning; the next time you make personal attacks on other people, as you did at User:Bonadea, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people.

Please note that user pages (starting with "User:") are not where you put messages for other users, even polite ones; for that you use user talk pages. But nowhere on Wikipedia are you allowed to post personal attacks against other people. bonadea contributions talk 12:26, 1 April 2011 (UTC)

Hello

Don't be depressed - but please be careful with what you write to other editors. Even if you are only joking, and don't mean any offense, remember that this is a multicultural community and it's better to be extra careful. When you know people personally they will know when you're joking and if you're just "rubbishing your mates", but Wikipedia is a little different.

Thanks for starting the Federal State School article! Do you think you could add some more information to it, about its location for instance? Right now it just says it's next to Bruce Highway, and that's quite a long road ;-) Are there any sources - newspaper articles about the school, or an official school website, you could add links to? That would be excellent. You could also have a look at this page which includes a bunch of information about school articles (names of individual students are normally not included for instance, unless the students are notable for something). Happy editing, --bonadea contributions talk 13:18, 1 April 2011 (UTC)

Your recent edits

Hello. Could you please stop your disruptive editing to the article Australia's Got Talent (season 5). The only acts that are suppose to be highlighted in pink are those who lost the judges vote in the Final 4 Results Round. The other semi-finalist acts don't need to be hightlighted because its obvious they did not make the finals. See Britain's Got Talent (series 5) for the correct format. Also, could you please add an edit summary (located under the main edit box and above the Save page button) because that way it helps other users understand the intention of your edits. Thanks, Ozurbanmusic (talk) 00:28, 6 July 2011 (UTC)

Are you encountering difficulties with your edits?

Just looking at your talk page it appears as if many article's you've created and edits you've tried to make have not been accepted very well. Looking at you user page it looks as if you're young, so if you're intimidated at all by any of the articles talking about dos and don'ts feel free to talk to me and I'll do my best to make things make sense. Comics (talk) 07:52, 29 October 2011 (UTC)

It appears to be that I am not very good at creating articles on Wikipedia as they are not up to the guidelines. I have been sent the guidelines various times, but the lists are way too long and hard to understand for someone as young as me. I can speak eloquent at times, but not that often and my vocabulary is limited to certain words. About three of the articles that I've made were of importance to the community ("Federal State School", "Dick Figures", "The Bandit (rapper)") but were sadly deleted. I feel like I contain the potential to create articles on Wikipedia but I must be doing it wrong.
Can you help? Rhain1999 (talk) 05:24, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
The big thing about Wikipedia is that it likes things that are famous or important for some reason. A leader of a country usually gets their own page because they're considered important in the country's history. A big name band like the Beatles gets their own page because they're famous, as does Elvis Presley and Stephanie Meyer and Johnny Depp (who aren't bands, but are famous).
General rule of thumb - if they're in multiple newspapers or have a Number 1 hit in Australia or they directed a film that has an Academy Award, the person deserves an article. If they appear on a TV show and don't have any other fame outside of that show they probably don't deserve an article unless they become famous outside of that show. Matt Smith gets an article because he's appeared in other TV roles and movies besides Doctor Who, but being the Doctor also makes him incredibly famous and might help him get other roles in the future. The Bandit mightn't get one though because he doesn't have that same background. Comics (talk) 06:19, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
Okay, then. What about the other two articles? Rhain1999 (talk) 06:33, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
Again, similar kind of thing. I tried an advanced search for 'Dick Figures' in Google and got less than 500K hits. I'm not sure how many of those would be newspapers talking about the phenomenon or just people's drawings on the internet/blog posts. It doesn't look like it has the notability of, say, the Cybermen who recieve three time as many hits but also appear in an incredibly well known TV series that's been airing for almost 40 years. I'm not sure what the rule is about schools, but seeing as the article for Federal is incredibly small itself maybe it's just a case that the school isn't considered notable. It's hard looking that up on Google - 'Federal State School' also brings up things like federal budget cuts that affect state schools and that sort of thing. Comics (talk) 07:30, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
'Dick Figures' is a YouTube hit series. 'Federal State School' is my state school. I really think that I need to find a page that I can use my own potential for. Rhain1999 (talk) 09:46, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
That might just be the thing though, it's a YouTube series. Has it been talked about in newspapers or anything? There are a lot of things on the internet that don't have articles on here. What things are you interested in? You're young, so maybe there are a lot of things here that don't interest you, but what kind of broad things interest you? Comics (talk) 10:04, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
Doctor Who most definitely interests me! I also know a lot more about it than most people suggest. ;)
I'm not sure about anything else, though. Rhain1999 (talk) 10:07, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
You'd be surprised at what some people on here can know. So that's about it? No other areas of interest? Comics (talk) 10:14, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
Not necessarily. I like rap music (Eminem, etc), but that's about it. Rhain1999 (talk) 10:37, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
Maybe you need to find a balance with how to edit. There's this particular bot called SuggestBot - looks at articles you frequent and suggests to you similar articles that have some issues that need tending to. Maybe give that a go? I think you can choose how often you want updates. Comics (talk) 10:43, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for that. I'll use that. I'll get back to you if it helps me out. :). Rhain1999 (talk) 10:53, 30 October 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Rhain C

A tag has been placed on Rhain C, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect to an article talk page, file description page, file talk page, MediaWiki page, MediaWiki talk page, category talk page, portal talk page, template talk page, help talk, user page, user talk or special page from the main/article space.

If you can fix the redirect to point to a mainspace page, please do so and remove the speedy deletion tag. However, please do not remove the speedy deletion tag unless you are fixing the redirect. If you think the redirect should be retained as is for some reason, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the article's talk page directly to give your reasons. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. WWGB (talk) 11:06, 7 November 2011 (UTC)

Inappropriate use of user pages

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia.

I noticed that your user subpage at User:Rhain1999/Superman may not meet Wikipedia's user page guideline because all of these articles will never be accepted into Wikipedia as the subject is not notable. Please see WP:FAKEARTICLE. Wikipedia is not a free web host. I urge you to seek deletion of this material. If you do not, I will be contacting an admin about misuse of Wikipedia user space. If you believe that your userpage does not violate our guidelines, please leave a note here and we can discuss it. As an alternative, you may add {{Db-userreq}} to the top of the page in question and an administrator will delete it, or you can simply edit the page so that it meets Wikipedia's userpage guidelines. Thank you. WWGB (talk) 23:34, 10 November 2011 (UTC)

MfD nomination of User:Rhain1999/Superman, etc.

User:Rhain1999/Superman, a page you substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Rhain1999 and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of User:Rhain1999/Superman during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. WWGB (talk) 10:38, 13 November 2011 (UTC)

November 2011

Please do not delete or edit legitimate talk page comments, as you did at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Rhain1999. Such edits are disruptive and appear to be vandalism. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you.

It looks almost as if you wanted to remove the part of Comic Master's comment that called for deletion of your articles. Perhaps you only wanted to fix the typo, but you shouldn't edit other people's comments in such discussions at all, and you should obviously not change them so it looks as if they said something different from what they did. bonadea contributions talk 11:15, 13 November 2011 (UTC)

The X Factor (Australia season 3)

Explain why you removed a whole lot of sourced content from the article? Disruptive editing like that can get you blocked from editing. Oz talk 11:23, 15 November 2011 (UTC)

I'm sorry about that. I was editing a tiny part of the article and then clicked "Save Page". My computer mustn't have loaded all of the information from the page before I saved it. I'm sorry about that. Rhain1999 (talk) 11:25, 15 November 2011 (UTC)
That's okay. Next time try using the preview button before you save; this helps you find any errors you have made. Oz talk 11:28, 15 November 2011 (UTC)

Your userpage

I've removed your date of birth and full name from your userpage, because you shouldn't really give away information like that here. Please see Wikipedia:Guidance for younger editors. Thanks. --Xijky (talk) 18:59, 15 November 2011 (UTC)

Alright. Thanks for that! :D Rhain1999 (talk) 21:15, 15 November 2011 (UTC)

Let me make it perfectly clear. There is no place on Wikipedia for your grandmother, your little school or your pretend people. Either make useful contributions to Wikipedia or find somewhere else to play. WWGB (talk) 09:31, 17 November 2011 (UTC)

I'd like to say that, even though WWGB was very blunt, they have a point. The content is being talked about for a reason - moving it around isn't solving the problem. Don't construct your page like a Wiki article - just talk about yourself and some interests perhaps, but broadly - you like music and make films in your free time. There, done; other people know they're dealing with a creative person and that's all your userpage should be for (besides barnstars you might get, information on article's you're working on [I know I have a list of different stuff I've worked on to give an idea of the stuff which I'm inclined to work on]). Don't worry; I had articles deleted way back when but I've since made smarter moves and made better ones which have stood the test of time and are still here (for now). Comics (talk) 09:41, 17 November 2011 (UTC)
I would much rather listen to Comics then to WWGB, as Comics is explaining this all very nicely to me and WWGB is just being plain nasty. My "little school" is one of the most educated schools in the entire state. "Pretend people"? Rhain C is ME, as is Lil' Rhain!! Lil' Rhain is just the rap persona of me!! Find somewhere else to play? It's going to be funny when these become articles created by other people and, when they look back at the first person to create such an article, they find someone telling them to find somewhere else to play.
Thanks, Comics. You worded it a lot nicer than WWGB. You seem quite helpful. :) Rhain1999 (talk) 10:35, 17 November 2011 (UTC)
Also, I like what User:Anna Frodesiak has done, with all of the different colour sandboxes. Would I be able to do that? Rhain1999 (talk) 10:43, 17 November 2011 (UTC)

The latest page that I added was My Sandbox, though...? o.O Rhain1999 (talk) 11:22, 12 December 2011 (UTC)
A sandbox is not a free rein to write draft articles about yourself which will never be notable. The sandbox is a place to develop potential articles about notable topics. You know enough about Wikipedia to understand that "Season to Season" will never meet the notability requirements for an article. You need to move your article creation away from yourself, your school and your family. They are just not notable enough to qualify for Wikipedia articles. I suggest you stick to notable subjects like Doctor Who, Eminem etc. Regards, WWGB (talk) 11:36, 12 December 2011 (UTC)
But I thought I could put whatever I wanted in my sandbox?! Rhain1999 (talk) 23:36, 12 December 2011 (UTC)
Definitely not. A personal sandbox is a specific case of a user page, and is subject to user page rules, such as WP:FAKEARTICLE. It is acceptable to use your sandbox to develop a potential article about a notable subject. It is not acceptable to use the sandbox as a webhost where you write draft articles about personal, non-notable interests. Personal interests like creating amateur films should be described as a hobby on User:Rhain1999. The problem is you keep making this information look like a Wikipedia article, which it is not. Stop using infoboxes and wikilinks, and just write about yourself and your interests on your userpage.
I have been cross with you in the past for breaking so many "rules". I agree that you have made some good contributions to Wikipedia. You just need to concentrate on notable topics and people, and forget about trying to make all your personal projects into Wikipedia articles. That will just keep you falling into hot water. Regards, WWGB (talk) 00:29, 13 December 2011 (UTC)
You are doing it again. Just stop it! WWGB (talk) 13:52, 11 February 2012 (UTC)

File Copyright problem
