Hello I appreciate you are just changing link but just if you have any infulence that "Boeing B737" is as wrong as "Boeing B.737", you can have either "B737" or "Boeing 737" so "Boeing B737" is not correct usage, bit like saying Boeing Boeing 737. Just out of interest this doesnt apply to Airbus where the "A" is correct per "Airbus A320", thanks MilborneOne (talk) 14:53, 18 July 2019 (UTC)

@MilborneOne: So you mean I should change Boeing B737 to Boeing 737? 大诺史 (talk) 15:03, 18 July 2019 (UTC)
Yes MilborneOne (talk) 19:07, 19 July 2019 (UTC)

Welcome!

Hi, 大诺史, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Please remember to sign your messages on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{help me}} before the question.

However, there is a small issue with your username. As it is in a non-Latin alphabet script it may not display correctly for many other users. Although usernames like yours are not prohibited, Wikipedia's signature guideline and username policy encourage you, as a courtesy to other users, to alter your signature so that it also includes a transliteration of your username using Latin characters, so others can see it correctly. For the how-to of tailoring your username, please see WP:CUSTOMSIG.

Information icon Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Make Money. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. The Mirror Cracked (talk) 13:41, 23 October 2019 (UTC)

@The Mirror Cracked: Can you check again? There is an extra link when you undid my edits. 大诺史 (talk)
Sorry about that. Your revert added a spam link, as did mine. I think I've got back far enugh now to get a clean version of the article. The Mirror Cracked (talk) 13:49, 23 October 2019 (UTC)

Hi 大诺史! I've been running into you in recent changes patrolling and I happened to notice that you don't have the rollback or pending changes reviewer user rights. I hope you don't mind, but I went through your contributions and I noticed that you're quite active in recent changes patrolling, that you have rollback on other sister project wikis, and that you consistently view and undo vandalism and bad faith disruption. I believe that these user rights would be useful for you to have and that you'd make good use of both tools. Instead of having you formally request these user rights at WP:PERM, I went ahead and just gave them to you. These user rights allow you to review edits that are pending approval on pages currently under pending changes protection, and to quickly revert the edits of other users in cases of blatant vandalism.

Rollback user right
Please keep these things in mind at all times when using rollback to revert edits:
  • Being granted rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle. It just adds a "[Rollback]" button next to a page's latest edits - that's all. It does not grant you any additional "status" on Wikipedia, nor does it change how Wikipedia policies apply to you (obviously).
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear and unambiguous cases of vandalism only, and never used to revert good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war, and it should never be used in a content-related dispute to restore the page to your preferred revision. If rollback is abused or used for this purpose, the rights will be revoked.
  • Use common sense. If you're not sure about something, ask.
For more information on how to use rollback, see this tutorial page.
Pending changes reviewer user right
Keep these things in mind regarding the tool or when you're reviewing any pending changes:
  • A list of articles with pending edits awaiting review can be viewed at Special:PendingChanges, and a list of the articles currently under pending changes protection can be viewed at Special:StablePages.
  • Being granted and having these rights does not grant you any additional "status" on Wikipedia, nor does it change how Wikipedia policies apply to you (obviously).
  • You'll generally want to accept any pending changes that appear to be legitimate edits and are not blatant vandalism or disruption, and reject edits that are problematic or that you wouldn't accept yourself.
  • Never accept any pending changes that contain obvious and clear vandalism, blatant neutral point of view issues, copyright violations, or BLP violations.
You may find the following pages useful to review:

I'm sure you'll do fine with these user rights - they're pretty straight-forward and they don't drastically change the interface that you're used to already. Nonetheless, please don't hesitate to leave me a message on my user talk page if you run into any questions, get stuck anywhere or run into any issues or problems, or if you're not sure if the use of either tool is appropriate or not and need my input or advice, and I'll be more than happy to help you. If you no longer want one or both of these user rights, let me know and I'll be happy to remove them for you. Thank you for helping to locate, revert, and remove vandalism, as well as review and keep disruptive edits off of Wikipedia - it's a very thankless job to perform and I want you to know that it doesn't go unnoticed and that I appreciate it very much. Happy editing! :-D ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 08:00, 19 October 2019 (UTC)

@Oshwah: Thanks for granting me the rights! + I want to help out in WP:AFC, how do I do it? 大诺史 (talk) 09:43, 25 October 2019 (UTC)
Hi 大诺史! No problem! Your time and dedication to this project mean a lot to us, and we appreciate it greatly. Keep up the excellent work - it makes big difference here! :-) You can check out this page for the list of requirements and experience that potential AFC reviewers need before they can participate. If you have any questions or need my assistance with anything , please don't hesitate to reach out to me by messaging me on my user talk page and I'll be more than happy to help! :-) Cheers - ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 09:54, 25 October 2019 (UTC)
@Oshwah: Thanks! Will read it when I have time. 大诺史 (talk) 12:25, 25 October 2019 (UTC)
Of course; always happy to lend a hand. ;-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 12:26, 25 October 2019 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Renate Habinger

Hello 大诺史. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Renate Habinger, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: de-wiki article contains plenty of claims of significance, needs translation, not deletion. Thank you. SoWhy 08:27, 28 October 2019 (UTC)

@SoWhy: Thanks and noted :) 大诺史 (talk) 08:29, 28 October 2019 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Zaheed Sabur

Hello 大诺史. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Zaheed Sabur, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The article makes a credible assertion of importance or significance, sufficient to pass A7. ArbCom 2019 election voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2019 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 on Monday, 2 December 2019. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2019 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:24, 19 November 2019 (UTC)

Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks!

Hello,

Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.

I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Please sign up at the contest page and send us your Google account address to google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org, so we can invite you in!

From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.

If you have any questions, please let us know at google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org.

Thank you!

Administrators' newsletter – January 2020

News and updates for administrators from the past month (December 2019).

Guideline and policy news

Arbitration

  • The fourth case on Palestine-Israel articles was closed. The case consolidated all previous remedies under one heading, which should make them easier to understand, apply, and enforce. In particular, the distinction between "primary articles" and "related content" has been clarified, with the former being the entire set of articles whose topic relates to the Arab-Israeli conflict, broadly interpreted rather than reasonably construed.
  • Following the 2019 Arbitration Committee elections, the following editors have been appointed to the Arbitration Committee: Beeblebrox, Bradv, Casliber, David Fuchs, DGG, KrakatoaKatie, Maxim, Newyorkbrad, SoWhy, Worm That Turned, Xeno.

Administrators' newsletter – February 2020

News and updates for administrators from the past month (January 2020).

Guideline and policy news

  • Following a request for comment, partial blocks are now enabled on the English Wikipedia. This functionality allows administrators to block users from editing specific pages or namespaces rather than the entire site. A draft policy is being workshopped at Wikipedia:Partial blocks.
  • The request for comment seeking the community's sentiment for a binding desysop procedure closed with wide-spread support for an alternative desysoping procedure based on community input. No proposed process received consensus.

Technical news

  • Twinkle now supports partial blocking. There is a small checkbox that toggles the "partial" status for both blocks and templating. There is currently one template: {{uw-pblock}}.
  • When trying to move a page, if the target title already exists then a warning message is shown. The warning message will now include a link to the target title. [1]

Arbitration

  • Following a recent arbitration case, the Arbitration Committee reminded administrators that checkuser and oversight blocks must not be reversed or modified without prior consultation with the checkuser or oversighter who placed the block, the respective functionary team, or the Arbitration Committee.

Administrators' newsletter – March 2020

News and updates for administrators from the past month (February 2020).

Guideline and policy news

  • Following an RfC, the blocking policy was changed to state that sysops must not undo or alter CheckUser or Oversight blocks, rather than should not.
  • A request for comment confirmed that sandboxes of established but inactive editors may not be blanked due solely to inactivity.

Technical news

  • Following a discussion, Twinkle's default CSD behavior will soon change, most likely this week. After the change, Twinkle will default to "tagging mode" if there is no CSD tag present, and default to "deletion mode" if there is a CSD tag present. You will be able to always default to "deletion mode" (the current behavior) using your Twinkle preferences.

PROD

It that revision you have restored a PROD template which was previously deleted by an author. I am writing to let you know that, per WP:CONTESTED, if anyone, including the creator, removes a proposed deletion tag from a page, do not replace it, even if the tag was apparently removed in bad faith. If you want to have the article deleted, bring it to CSD or AfD. Best, Tymon.r Do you have any questions? 12:26, 3 March 2020 (UTC)

@Tymon.r: Ah.. Didn't know about that. Thanks :) Minorax (talk) 12:27, 3 March 2020 (UTC)
Not a problem at all. Happy to help :) BTW, remember WP:A7 criterion won't apply to that article as it is about an education institution. Brining it to AFD seems to be the only way to get it removed (according to the Wiki policies). Best, Tymon.r Do you have any questions? 12:35, 3 March 2020 (UTC)

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

@Minorax: my apologies, I was using Twinkle, not sure why it put this here though... Hb1290 (talk) 10:36, 14 March 2020 (UTC)
@Hb1290: I created the page, technically, when notifying the user. Minorax (talk) 10:37, 14 March 2020 (UTC)
@Minorax: ah, it doesn't help that the user created this article by inexplicably moving their own talk page into mainspace. Hb1290 (talk) 10:47, 14 March 2020 (UTC)

Page mover granted

Hello, Minorax. Your account has been granted the "extendedmover" user right, either following a request for it or demonstrating familiarity with working with article names and moving pages. You are now able to rename pages without leaving behind a redirect, move subpages when moving the parent page(s), and move category pages.

Please take a moment to review Wikipedia:Page mover for more information on this user right, especially the criteria for moving pages without leaving redirect. Please remember to follow post-move cleanup procedures and make link corrections where necessary, including broken double-redirects when suppressredirect is used. This can be done using Special:WhatLinksHere. It is also very important that no one else be allowed to access your account, so you should consider taking a few moments to secure your password. As with all user rights, be aware that if abused, or used in controversial ways without consensus, your page mover status can be revoked.

Useful links:

If you do not want the page mover right anymore, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Thank you, and happy editing! Primefac (talk) 15:36, 15 March 2020 (UTC)
