Constantly re-uploading image[edit]

Makedonas, yet again you have uploaded the map and yet again it has been deleted. I can see that you have done this at least 10 times. The consensus is that you scanned a map in and this makes it a copyright issue here. You can count this message as a warning to NOT upload this image again. If you do I will block you from editing to ensure that you cannot continue to do so. If though you believe that the image is entirely your own work please drop me a message on my talk page - Peripitus (Talk) 12:51, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Α ρε Μακεδόνα, και γιατί δε μας είπες λίγο νορίτερα ποια ήταν η πηγή σου? You could have just told some of the admins involved weeks ago how and on the basis of what map you made this, and everybody would have been spared the trouble. Also, why do you want the modified map in the first place, why not just use the original, with its more professional print quality? Fut.Perf. 21:30, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I explained, under the image, that I've drawn it, based on that image: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Macedonia_greece.png. It is written clearly down there that: This image is a mapping derived from products of the United Nations Cartographic Section. Modified versions of UNCS maps may be used provided that the UN name and reference number does not appear on any modified version and a link to the original map is provided. Modified UN maps are to be considered in the public domain. This applies worldwide. The UN maps is an open source material. You can use them to make your own maps. You do not need our permission for that. Please be advised that the UN name and reference number should not appear on any modified map. The UN map is a UN document and cannot be modified. Drop me message. Thank you! --makedonas (talk) 20:45, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Makedonas, Sorry about the misunderstanding here - I've undeleted the image Image:Map of kozani.jpg and put it back in place in Kozani. I didn't look at the text below the image as I'd seen the same image deleted again and again and again - I'll be more vigilant from now on. As Fut.Perf. says though, if you have an issue with an admin just talk to them and it can get sorted quickly. Happy Editing - Peripitus (Talk) 22:40, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I must also excuse for the misunderstanding, I'll explain more clearly the sources next time. User:El Greco was very aggressive against me, that's why I didn't defend myself. I put the modified version because it has more intensive colors and more details, about the relief of the terrain, transport etc. although it isn't so professionally done like the original. thanks again! --makedonas (talk) 08:50, 30 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for this note Makedonas. All the best - Peripitus (Talk) 12:50, 30 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Mega.gif)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Mega.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:12, 28 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

NowCommons: File:Railkozaniamyntaio.png[edit]

File:Railkozaniamyntaio.png is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:Railkozaniamyntaio.png. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:Railkozaniamyntaio.png]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 16:18, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File:Zep.jpg missing description details[edit]

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as File:Zep.jpg is missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors to make better use of the image, and it will be more informative for readers.

Europe 10,000 Challenge invite[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 10:02, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The file File:Kozaniclock.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unused, low-res, no obvious use, replaceable with files at c:Category:Saint Nicholas Church, Kozani.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist.
