Peruvian Navy ships[edit]

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. It seems you have added pictures to the articles BAP Aguirre (CH-84), BAP Coronel Bolognesi (CL-82)‎ and BAP Capitán Quiñones (CL-83). While I appreciate your interest in this ships, I don't think the pics are appropriate as they represent the ships before their transfer to Peru thus, they don't illustrate the subject of the article: their careers under the Peruvian flag. For this reason, I'm planning to remove them again. I'd be glad to read your thoughts on this. --Victor12 13:42, 11 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Charles F. Adams class destroyer[edit]

Just noticed your work on the {{Charles F. Adams class destroyer}} template. Looks great! Kudos to you for your hard work in making this otherwise very bland template look so nice! --Kralizec! (talk) 19:41, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Images[edit]

Gaetano, I can read Italian, but I can't write it. The English Wikipedia is not a reliable source of license claims. It is not unusual at all to find wrongly licensed images, or completely unsourced images here. It's only normal that such images get questioned when they are uploaded to the Commons. When I find dubious claims, I question them.

Also, when you transfer images to the commons, please make sure to mention the actual image page here and the original source, as well as the upload history.

Cheers, Lupo 14:37, 29 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fotos buques peruanos[edit]

Hola Gaetano! --Cloudaoc (talk) 17:26, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Italian cruiser Garibaldi[edit]

Thank you for your message [1]. As per the discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Ships#Two articles that should be one?, both versions of this ship (Italian cruiser Giuseppe Garibaldi (1936) and Italian cruiser Giuseppe Garibaldi (1961)) were merged together. This is also consistent with WP:NC-SHIP, which only recommends forking articles if the ship changes nationalities and had significant careers in both navies. --Kralizec! (talk) 22:22, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You can bring it up at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Ships, however to be honest, I do not recall ever seeing two articles on the same ship under the same navy. --Kralizec! (talk) 01:00, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not move articles via cut-and-paste[edit]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently copied the contents of a page and pasted it into another with a different name. Specifically, you copied the contents of Chilean frigate Almirante Condell (PFG-06) This is what we call a "cut and paste move", and it is very undesirable because it splits the article's history, which is needed for attribution and is helpful in many other ways. The mechanism we use for renaming articles is to move it to a new name which both preserves the page's history and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. In most cases, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. If there is an article that you cannot move yourself by this process, follow the instructions at Wikipedia:Requested moves to request the move by another. Also, if there are any other articles that you copied and pasted, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. --Kralizec! Italian cruiser Giuseppe Garibaldi (1936)[edit]

Hi, I've noticed that you are again trying to split the above article into two, to cover the period of the ship's rebuild. As has been explained at the talk page, the convention on the English wikipedia is not to do this, and a number of precedents have been quoted for this and consensus in this case has been achieved. You are welcome to bring the issue up at WP:SHIPS if you want, but please do not continue to do this without discussing it first. I know the Italian wikipedia seems to do things differently, but please respect the conventions and consensus of this wikipedia. Kind regards, Benea (talk) 13:26, 6 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I can see why you think it they should be, but as I've pointed out, these differences crop up a lot in ships of the same period in British, American and other Navies. We on the English wikipedia have simply worked out that its better to keep them as one article, and we only tend to split the articles if the ship has been transferred to another navy and gone on to have a notable career with them. Sometimes we don't even split the articles even in this case. Again, if you feel you want to, you can raise the issue at WP:SHIPS, but the consensus as it stands would be simply to keep the history together in this article. Kind regards, Benea (talk) 19:30, 6 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:RN_Garibaldi_original.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:RN_Garibaldi_original.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 14:02, 19 April 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? MECUtalk 14:02, 19 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Saludos! --Cloudaoc (talk) 00:31, 21 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Stubs[edit]

Hi, you recently marked Italian battleship Giulio Cesare as a stub. Please note that a stub is defined as an article containing only a few sentences of text which is too short to provide encyclopedic coverage of a subject. I think this 12 paragraph article is much too long to fit such a description and have removed the tag. Consider using the {{expand}} tag if you think a longer article still needs adding to. In this case, however, the need for references for the existing text seems like it should take priority. Regards, AJCham 17:36, 25 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
