Stroudwater Navigation[edit]

Hi, I've just reverted your links to the Stonehouse History Group as they are not strictly relevant to the article pages, but if the group has any information on the canal or the railway line we would be very pleased to see them included in the articles. ♦ Jongleur100 talk 12:59, 16 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Stonehouse Brick and Tile Co Ltd requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A tag has been placed on Stonehouse Brick and Tile Co Ltd requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject of the article is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} at the top of the article, immediately below the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate), and providing your reasons for contesting on the article's talk page, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. You may freely add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

You may want to read the guidelines for specific types of articles: biographies, websites, bands, or companies. Codf1977 (talk) 13:21, 5 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Stonehouse Brick and Tile Co Ltd[edit]

The merger to Stonehouse_Brick_and_Tile_Co_Ltd#Features is complete, with a few embellishments. Best regards, TRANSPORTERMAN (TALK) 17:28, 5 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your email inquiry[edit]

Let me answer the question you asked by email, but then suggest that you not do it:

To move your drafting page to mainspace:

  • Go to User:Darrellw100/Fretherne_Court,
  • Edit the page and remove the heading line,
  • Save the page,
  • Click the "Move" tab at the top of the page,
  • On the next screen, In the "To new title" box change "User:Darrellw100/Fretherne Court" to just "Fretherne Court",
  • Insert a reason, perhaps something like "Moving drafting page to mainspace",
  • Check the checkbox,
  • Click "Move page".

The page is not, however, anywhere close to being ready to be moved to mainspace and will run a substantial chance of being deleted if you do. What it needs, worst of all, is to be given reliable sources. I don't mean to just be negative, but a single long-gone building with no particular apparent importance other than the fact that it was owned by a baronet really isn't notable enough for a Wikipedia article unless you can provide at least a couple of clearly-reliable sources for the information, and more would be much better. The article should also be wikified before being moved, and the dead link to the image should be fixed. Even with all that, it may not survive as an independent article. My suggestion would be, after you wikify it and fix the picture link, to insert it as a section of the Fretherne article, which is in dire need of content, rather than moving it into a standalone article. Good luck with your editing and best regards, TRANSPORTERMAN (TALK) 15:03, 16 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm kind of a map nut, so I hope you don't mind, but I've located the site of Fretherne Court and added coordinates to your draft article. I've also marked the site of the mansion and grounds in Wikimapia (click on the coords link, scroll down to Wikimapia and click the "+old places" link) and used some of your information in the popup information box. Best regards, and Merry Christmas, TRANSPORTERMAN (TALK) 16:12, 23 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page History of Gloucestershire do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used as a platform for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Most of your contributions seem to be adding external links. This is not helpful. If your history site has specific information that you believe meets the reliable sourcing requirements (WP:RS) for articles, then by all means add it as a specific inline reference. License tagging for File:Kimmins mill.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Kimmins mill.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 17:05, 10 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
