Precision in timekeeping[edit]

You really cleaned their clock
There were those skeptics who said Tom Rees should not be an article. Well . . . the DYK says otherwise. Your intrepid persistence in the face of adversity and meticulous attention to detail is appreciated. 7&6=thirteen () 15:19, 29 June 2014 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Preparation (principle)[edit]

The article Preparation (principle) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Delete per WP:NOTDICT and WP:SYNTH. Lots of text, lots of cited sources, but nothing hangs together to make a topic.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Good idea to ask for help, when it gets outside your expertise. Whatever it takes to improve the articles. The article looks really pretty now.--Doug Coldwell (talk) 14:29, 2 July 2014 (UTC)
Here is a tool I have found quite useful for HarvErrors.--Doug Coldwell (talk) 14:34, 2 July 2014 (UTC)

Fittja gård[edit]

Could you please take a look at the DYK nom for Fittja gård. I have to agree with user Yngvadottir that the reviewer has reviewed the article like it was up for GA. He aims too high for a DYK review when it comes to details. Anyway, atleast take a look.--BabbaQ (talk) 13:27, 29 July 2014 (UTC)

Certainly.--Doug Coldwell (talk) 14:14, 29 July 2014 (UTC)
Thank you so much for your assistance! Could you take a look at the article Älgen Stolta as well. Appreciated!--BabbaQ (talk) 12:52, 30 July 2014 (UTC)
I'll do what I can. I might be a little busy as I just created 6 new articles related to reinforced concrete and submitted for a 6-in-1 DYK.--Doug Coldwell (talk) 13:57, 30 July 2014 (UTC)

I undid your edit there, as it seems that the reversion is of constructive edits. Additionally, your edit summary suggests that the reversion is falsely of bad faith edits. 50.14.142.33 (talk) 02:39, 4 August 2014 (UTC)

Take a look at the article 2014 Västmanland wildfire, I have nominated it for a mention at ITN.--BabbaQ (talk) 17:12, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
I'll be gone for a few hours, but when I get back I'll look at them. I gave Support at ITN. --Doug Coldwell (talk) 17:18, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
Do not consider this a demand, but if you could please expand the 2014 Västmanland wildfire I am quite sure that the article will be ITN ready. Thanks.--BabbaQ (talk) 19:11, 6 August 2014 (UTC)

Message in edit summary[edit]

... here. Check the history. You blitzed my comment with your own, I guess you ignored an edit conflict warning. The Rambling Man (talk) 18:43, 6 August 2014 (UTC)

Apparently I am missing something here. Have no idea what you are concerned about. Just wanted to make a Support comment, however if you feel it is not justified, then remove it.--Doug Coldwell (talk) 18:52, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
Indeed you are. Perhaps you could check the edit history, where this edit blitzed a whole KB of text. Be more careful and don't ignore edit conflict warnings. The Rambling Man (talk) 19:13, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
I'll just have to ignore your ramping and raging about whatever problem you have. I'm a little busy now editing and expanding articles and you are consuming my time. Bye.--Doug Coldwell (talk) 19:18, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
I don't really care who you ignore or what you're currently doing, just don't remove my posts in future. Thanks. The Rambling Man (talk) 19:20, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
I guess the rambling man is still rambling on. Besides my editing and expanding articles is wayyyyyy more important than whatever problem you are having. Sorry about someone stepping on your toes. It must have reallly hurt!--Doug Coldwell (talk) 19:26, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
Sure, deleting other people's comments is just fine in your world. You could just apologise for a clumsy edit. Your "article work" is noted, but don't remove my comments again. The Rambling Man (talk) 19:30, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
I'll assume that is not a threat and you are having a bad hair day.--Doug Coldwell (talk) 19:35, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
Assume what you will. Removing my posts again will not be tolerated. You are having a bad communication and edit day. Not uncommon apparently. The Rambling Man (talk) 19:37, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
Yup! That's not a threat (however, for a moment there I wasn't sure). Oh, I'm having a great edit day = apparently you have not been following my contributions.--Doug Coldwell (talk) 19:43, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
Simply put, if you'd have just said "oops, sorry about that", this would have been resolved. The Rambling Man (talk) 19:45, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
"oops, sorry about that". Now back to articles.--Doug Coldwell (talk) 19:48, 6 August 2014 (UTC)

Have a look at Wikipedia:Userboxes, which has a section on "Constructing a userbox". That may be enough for you to do it yourself; if you need more help, try leaving a message on the talk page of Wikipedia:WikiProject Userboxes. JohnCD (talk) 16:27, 18 August 2014 (UTC)

Help[edit]

Hi, please take a look at the article Twitterature. There are a article about it on Swedish Wikipedia and I have started the article. So if you could do anything improvements it would be appreciated :) Thanks!--BabbaQ (talk) 20:33, 30 August 2014 (UTC)

BabbaQ - I'm afraid I have reached my Plimsoll Line. If I take on any more load, one of two things is going to happen:
1) the ship will sink
-OR-
2) the boilers will explode
Right now I am in storming seas, so I have to get to port and unload my large load I already have. Maybe next time (sorry).--Doug Coldwell (talk) 21:32, 30 August 2014 (UTC)

Joanna Yeates[edit]

The article Murder of Joanna Yeates that I created will appear on the TFA section on the main page on 18 September :)--BabbaQ (talk) 22:21, 1 September 2014 (UTC)

Wow! I'm impressed = I have never had that happen to me. Very nice article. I'll have to come to you for advice on how to make such good quality articles. Bravo = keep up the good work. You are doing all the right things. --Doug Coldwell (talk) 10:29, 2 September 2014 (UTC)
If you find time or want some work in the future you could always take a look at Martina Montelius, Athena Farrokhzad, Victor Hartman, Helena Quiding and Lilla Skuggan. :)--BabbaQ (talk) 23:11, 2 September 2014 (UTC)
Suggestion: On the ones that talk about bare URLs like Lilla Skuggan, use instead {cite web} that you can find in Wikipedia:Citation templates = where you will find many more neat templates to use for articles, like {cite news}. For citing books use this tool and put on your desktop. Did you set up an email account yet.--Doug Coldwell (talk) 10:42, 3 September 2014 (UTC)

Please be careful in future:[edit]

For Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/W. Stanley Proctor, I've had to strip out the full text of the article you found as a blatant copyvio, and revdel'd that out of the AFD's history. In the future, if you find such articles, certainly provide the citation, and maybe provide a few choice quotes to show how the topic is discussed if it is not easily available online. --MASEM (t) 17:49, 4 September 2014 (UTC)

The newspaper article deleted and eradicated by User:Masem was proffered only because citations to the article are apparently not enough. There has been an apparent refusal to WP:AGF on the citations which are not on line, even though it should be policy with a contributor of User: Doug Coldwell's stature. This was a mere frustrated attempt to provide it to you in easily digestible form. In any event, you can now retrieve it from the Florida Library. This article is not available on line. But you read it. Perhaps you would like to comment. The citations are in the article already, so your suggestion is bringing Coals to Newcastle. Happy editing. 7&6=thirteen () 18:01, 4 September 2014 (UTC)
