Acquisition by Religion News LLC[edit]

In light of today's announcement (http://religionnewsllc.com/2011/religion-news-llc-acquires-religion-news-service), we wanted to point out the About/History pages for RNS (http://www.religionnews.com/index.php?/history), RNA (http://www.rna.org/?page=about_us), and the new Religion News LLC (http://religionnewsllc.com/about/) for more details that could be added to this page. Original name; copyright[edit]

The article says, "in 1994, Newhouse News Service, a major publisher of daily newspapers and magazines, purchased it and changed its name to Religion News Service", which leaves me with the question what was the original name of the service.

Looking for an answer, I visited the history page on its own web site and discovered that the text of that page was not only a source for the content of this article but for the exact text. It looks like a copyright infringement to me (although perhaps with the tacit permission of the copyright owner). Bever (talk) 00:00, 5 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I believe it was previously called Religious News Service. I did some freelancing for them back in the late 70s. 68.42.251.147 (talk) 03:25, 8 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
