This parable can point to much more than the allegorical interpretations offered by even the most highly respected theologians. It could imply that humanity is of much greater worth than any of us could understand in this broken world. We have been told from countless pulpits that Christ died for our sins, but this short parable may serve to enlighten us that God has given "all that he has" for us in the incarnation of his Son. There will be no second act, the time to love one another is now. Our redemption may be no more than the loss of the nagging feeling that God is somehow holding out on us.Voxwild (talk) 19:39, 25 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
