Family[edit]

It isn't hard to find suggestions on Morgan's background. Apparently his parents were the Rev. W. Moore Morgan of Dunlavin and his wife Margaret Conway; he had a sister Sarah who married William Watson of Dublin and was mother of Charles Moore Watson, and two brothers, William Conway Morgan who was a Dublin barrister, and Owen Wynne Morgan of Melbourne. It is just not that easy to establish these facts with decent references. There is an obituary notice for William Watson where he appears as brother-in-law.

I thought he would be a graduate of Trinity College Dublin, and there is a John Morgan BA there in 1841,[1] which would fit. But there is another John Morgan (died 1873), a surgeon, who was a TCD BA in 1841. Charles Matthews (talk) 08:32, 29 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
