Snow on Four Peaks[edit]

I modified the statement, "During most winters, Four Peaks offers much of the Phoenix metro area a view of snow covered peaks," and rephrased it to read, "On rare occasions". I live in Phoenix, and I've only rarely seen snow on Four Peaks. Magnetic Rag (talk) 01:05, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I also live in Phoenix, and I see snow on Four Peaks 2-3 times per year. I don't recall ever going a whole winter without seeing any snow on Four Peaks. Even in the winter of 05/06, when we had a five month drought, Four Peaks still managed to obtain a blanket of snow in March. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.47.205.126 (talk) 16:35, 29 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I've lived in metro Phoenix for about 15 years now and I was puzzled by the "rare" comment myself. Four Peaks is snow-capped pretty much every winter, and it usually lasts on the SW side at least to the end of each February. And i've seen snow on the Roosevelt Lake side well into May. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.3.248.99 (talk) 00:00, 30 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Four Peaks Wilderness[edit]

As a new user, is it okay to add a section for the four peaks wilderness? I found a few good articles and sites I could use to improve this one. Any help is much appreciated. Squanto1998 (talk) 03:34, 13 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The sites I found are Four Peaks Wilderness Area and The Lone Fire as well as Four Peaks Wilderness Squanto1998 (talk) 17:34, 19 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Well I added a few sentences of the wilderness area. If anyone comes through here and wants to change things, go for it. I'll be back every so often. Squanto1998 (talk) 04:16, 13 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Four peaks name[edit]

Traditionally called “Wiigidjessa” by Yavapais, translates to “chopped up mountain”. The name u have “We:khoba” is a literal translation of four peaks. 70.166.192.1 (talk) 13:36, 28 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
