Edinburgh or Perth?[edit]

Several sources say he was born "near Edinburgh", but those who have researched his genealogy seem to say he was near Perth, where the Bruces are from. Cake (talk) 13:49, 6 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Article issues[edit]

A criteria for B-class (#1) is, The article is suitably referenced, with inline citations. It has reliable sources, and any important or controversial material which is likely to be challenged is cited. A tag dated June 2018 conflicts with this and needs correcting to avoid possible reassessment. -- Otr500 (talk) 00:34, 18 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hard to find an explicit reference to Alexander Balmain Bruce's namesake, but it's the same family. John Bruce's first son was another Alexander Balmain Bruce who died before he reached age 4. For now, I'll leave it as he was just an in-law. Hopefully that inference is allowed. Cake (talk) 15:52, 19 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, and thanks. At this time I am not judging articles or sources just minimum qualifications for the class. I would appreciate it if you could look at the "External links" for trimming. Four might be acceptable for a longer article but five is stretching it. Is there a reason Founders Online can't be used in the article as a source? -- Otr500 (talk) 17:44, 20 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Good idea. Probably needs elaboration of the relationship with Washington, but I piped the Madison correspondence and put the Washington one in the article body. Hopefully that's better. Cake (talk) 03:51, 22 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
