Misc questions

First, is there any sort of talk page template for the project?

Second, I've been trying to clean up and add what I can to Golubac fortress, but I'm a bit stuck now. I've posted the major questions on the talk page, and am hoping posting here will get it seen and/or find someone who doesn't mind doing some translation from Serbian pages, since I can't do that myself and they seem to be a lot longer than the English and German pages I've found. -Bbik 17:53, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

There isn't a talk page template, but it's something I think we should create, and have my todo list, just been a little to busy recently, and it certainly will give more exposure to Wikiproject and I think it needs it.

Thanks! That's a handy link, too. And since I didn't want to post external links on the page when I couldn't confirm what they said, the two I found that look to have significantly more information are the Serbian version and this one which I can at least see has dates, though I can't get much farther than that. Serbia topics

I propose that Template:Serbia topics is redone in this way: if an argument is added to it, for example, {{Serbia topics|politics}}, it will show that topic expanded, and only titles of other topics. That's a heck of a lot more compact, I like it! Though, would it take much work to add the show/hide links so it's still possible to expand the other topics? See Template:Politics of Germany, Template:Politics of Japan, Template:Politics of Croatia, Template:Politics of Hungary, Template:Politics of Slovenia, Template:Politics of Italy, ... and Template:Germany topics, Template:Japan topics. Proposed merger

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Barakovo

Hi there. I am not a member of this project, but I am looking for help from Serbian Wikipedians. In short, this article, Barakovo, is about a village that may or may not exist. I can find no evidence for it, and neither can some other editors, and it is now up at AfD as a hoax. I looking for anyone who would be able to check detailed maps of the area, and tell us whether this village does actually exist, and possibly even rewrite and source the article. Thanks a lot. Hello. I've placed a prod tag on Dika Djordjevic because I have no indication whatsoever that this content is actually genuine. Of course, you guys will probably know for sure so I'd appreciate it if you could take a look at it and possibly remove the prod tag and reference the article properly if Dika Djordjevic is indeed a famous Serbian singer. Banner nesting

I hadn't saved it before beacuse it looked funny, but Talk:Crusade of Varna, for one. If we/WPFrance can't figure out how to make it work, easy enough to get rid of the nesting again, and if we can then it doesn't need to be added later. Need help determining nationality of a chess player

WP:CHESS needs some assistance to correctly categorize some chess player biographies from the former Yugoslavia. One bio in question is Dragoljub Minić (1937–2005). Our page currently says he was a Croat, but an anon commented that he was a Serb, and his places of birth (Titograd) and death (Novi Sad) suggest that Serb is correct. Can anyone here help? I tried looking this up, but didn't find much. I agree with your rationale based on his places of birth and death, it is questionable. I would say that he was a Yugoslav since that is what the sources state, unless there is a source that states otherwise. Boris Tadic

I'm currently working on improving the article on Boris Tadic, President of Serbia. His grandparents were killed by the Ustase, is it acceptable to refer to the events at Jasenovac as genocide?

Project banner

I have updated the banner to include options for the Belgrade group as well, I think. I basically copied the provisions from the Template:ChristianityWikiProject and substituted in the right names. I hope it works. John Carter 18:29, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

Does there need to be/Should there be the Belgrade workgroup when there's also the full Belgrade WikiProject with the separate banner?

Also, something with that part of the template seems slightly off -- the WPSerbia banner seems to add a non-existent template to all pages it's transcluded on (in the list at the bottom when you edit a page), and because the template doesn't exist, either, if the workgroup switch were to be used, it would also add a red link to the template page in the banner, rather than transcluding whatever it's supposed to display. Can that be fixed somehow? Is there a way to make that template appear in the list only when the workgroup bit is turned on, too? Or will it always show up no matter what, simply because it's in the WPSerbia template's code? -Bbik^★ 19:36, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

Doesn't need to be, but it does reduce banner crowding. It doesn't have to be used if it's problematic. Also, please specify a page where the problem you cited appears. John Carter 20:36, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

For the red-linked template in the list when you edit, pick any talk page with the WPSerbia banner and scroll down. For the red link showing in the template itself when the workgroup's used, I haven't actually seen it on any page, just got curious and tested a bit without saving. However, here, I saved this time so you could see. The Belgrade work group page doesn't exist either, for that matter, but that's less of an issue than whatever the template was supposed to be, and easily fixed by just removing the link. -Bbik^★ 23:39, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

There is currently a content dispute in the Three-finger salute (Serbian) article. If there are any editors here who are more familiar with the usage of the salute in Serbia and by Serbs, please help us reach a consensus on how the article should be presented. I'd like to point attention to recently published book Српско поморје од 7. до 10. столећа (warning, 27MB PDF) by Đorđe Janković. It is especially interesting because it combines results of archaeological research with the oldest written sources about Serbs, so I believe it will be very helpful in writing about this period. There's an edit war going on at Towns in the Former RSK, over whether this should be an article or just a redirect, and I'm not familiar enough with the subject to understand what the dispute is. Serb Chetniks Rescue U.S. Pilots during World War II/Operation Halyard

Article Serb Chetniks Rescue U.S. Pilots during World War II has been listed as in need of improvement since January 2006. In the meantime, someone created and I improved on article Operation Halyard that was supposed to serve as a replacement for the first article but the first one was never deleted. So now we need an administrator to move Operation Halyard to Serb Chetniks Rescue U.S. Pilots during World II. Only an administrator can do this. Are there any volunteers or should I post this on a deletion request page?SWik78 21:58, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

Veljko Nikitović

Could someone who understands the language please take a look at Veljko Nikitović and Velijko Nikitovici? Are they they the same person? As far as I can tell they seem to be, but virtually all the tidbits of information online are in Serbian (I think?), so I'm having trouble figuring things out.
