You are invited to join the discussion at WP:HD#Slight adjustment to article title. -- Marchjuly (talk) 21:11, 2 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The Help Desk might not be the best place for a detailed discussion on this, but adding/removing a macron to an article title seems to involve MOS:JAPAN. -- Marchjuly (talk) 21:13, 2 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Discussion moved from Help desk to below. -- Marchjuly (talk) 00:06, 3 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Taikyoku shōgi and Taikyoku shogiDiscussion moved to Talk:Taikyoku shogi[edit]

I created a redirect from Taikyoku shogi to Taikyoku shōgi, there after at the help desk, other editors mentioned that the redirect did not have to be created. I'm not that sure with the naming conventions on WikiProject JapanWikipedia:WikiProject Japan, so decicded to request help here. OkayKenji (talk page) 23:02, 2 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

A macron-less "shogi" is one of the specific examples given in MOS:JAPAN#English words of Japanese origin, so I'm not sure how that is changed with respect to "taikyoku shogi". Maybe the simplest solution would be to add a romaji reading to the paranthetical in the first sentence of the article as is done for Shogi, Tokyo, Jujutsu, Judo, etc. At the same, time there are probably examples where the macron is used; so, in the end it might come down to MOS:JAPAN#Determining common usage. -- Marchjuly (talk) 02:59, 4 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. OkayKenji (talk page) 03:32, 5 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Marchjuly: Might start a move request back to Taikyoku shogi. Moving further discussion to the talk page. OkayKenji (talk page) 04:05, 5 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Idea for Tokyo special ward navigation templates: populate them with train stations[edit]

In regards to Template:Chiyoda, Tokyo and Template:Taitō I started adding train stations but haven't finished. If anyone else is interested adding train stations to the respective district templates, that would be great! WhisperToMe (talk) 16:54, 3 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I like this idea. If there are stations other than trains that have articles, we should link to them, too. ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 18:15, 9 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Could someone provide a draft English translation of ja:ビーエスFOX and ja:FOX SPORTS ジャパン (excluding the list of programmes and personalities, of course)? Let's see how can I improve the articles Fox Sports & Entertainment and Draft:Fox Sports Japan (company) respectively. JSH-alive/talk/cont/mail 16:38, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Geisha, yet again[edit]

Yet again, there's a duel between SPAs at the article Fiona Graham. Graham is, we learn, an anthropologist and a geisha; it's the geisha and business side of her that continues to excite various editors. The non-obsessed are welcome to participate. -- Hoary (talk) 22:46, 18 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
