User:Mattdaviesfsic[edit]

Hi, just wanted to put forward my 'application', if that's the right word, to help with the enormous backlog of AfCs (3 months is a long for someone to check your submission when you make one!). Already familiar with most of the core policies, as well as... other ones (like WP:COLAS!). Happy to be put on probation like some of the others have above, if admin feels that's necessary. Mattdaviesfsic (talk) 08:20, 2 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Probation, which will be evaluated in 3-6 months. Being on probation only means that you can be removed from the list for any reason without prior discussion. Primefac (talk) 13:07, 4 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

User:Eastmain[edit]

Seasoned editor would like to help with AFC. Eastmain (talkcontribs) 20:42, 3 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Not done; a full half of your talk page is deletion notices and draft decline notices. I am also somewhat concerned that your application was... badly formatted, to put it politely. Primefac (talk) 10:04, 4 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

User:Praseodymium-141[edit]

Hi, I would like to help out pages in AfC, usually chemistry or physics-related, and to cut down the huge backlog of submissions. I am an experienced editor, having an account that is more than a year old and made more than 6500 edits. I have already read the instructions a couple of times. Thanks! 141Pr 13:05, 5 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

User:Enervation[edit]

I would love to help review pages for AfC in order to reduce the accumulating backlog. I have read the reviewing instructions, am familiar with the notability guidelines and deletion policy, and am eager to respond to comments about AfC reviews in a timely manner. My account is 11 years old and I have made over 1,000 live edits. Thanks for considering this request! Enervation (talk) 00:39, 13 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Leaning towards no, mainly due to the lack of AFD experience and just-over-the-minimum edit counts. Primefac (talk) 20:49, 15 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

User:GA Melbourne[edit]

Hello, I am seeking to participate as a AfC reviewer. I have experience as a former NPP (permissions were granted temporarily and have since expired). I have read WP:AFC/RI a couple of times in the past week and have gained a good understanding of the process. I am also familiar with the broader WP policies. I also am always sure to provide newcomers with the info to learn to become better editors and not bite them. I am also familiar with the deletion process and have a sense of which article will survive the process and which articles won't. - GA Melbourne (talk) 10:33, 16 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

User:Eejit43[edit]

Hello! I'd like to request AfC helper script rights in order to help with the big backlog of AfC submissions. I am well versed with the notability guidelines, as well as AfD/CSD/PROD (however mostly have experience with a bunch of speedy deletion requests), and know how to properly check for copyright violations and identify promotional content. I have been editing for over a year, and have 4,000+ edits to articles. I'm also very happy to help respond to questions editors might have. I have fully read WP:AFCR, and if granted, will use the tool responsibly! Thank you! :) ~ Eejit43 (talk) 20:15, 16 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I'm currently creating Articles since 2 Months, whenever i get time i just start my Laptop and starts editing and Contributing. Before some days, I was editing through my mobile only. I had created articles and 4 articles are drafted because i had made some mistakes in Creating and contributing to those. I'm focusing mainly on History, entertainment, politics and Geography type articles, as you can see. I will focus on these type of articles in future too, because every person has their own Interest. Ending it up here, waiting for your Good Response. Thank You Misterrrrr (talk) 10:02, 28 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

User:Ppt91[edit]

I think that I could help substantially reduce AfC backlog on topics related to WP:VISUALARTS, WP:BIOGRAPHY, and WP:HISTORY due to my editing experience (over 2300 edits of which vast majority are main space), familiarity with notability, WP:STYLE, and reliable secondary sources (one GA article and two reviews, in addition to multiple extensive edits in B-class articles), and creating new articles (seven main space, a few of which are already C-class). More broadly, I am actively looking for new ways to utilize my knowledge and experience to improve the quality of content across the platform. Thanks so much. User:Dicklyon[edit]

Want to be able to help create articles, including sometimes my own that got stuck into the long queue. Dicklyon (talk) 03:41, 25 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Dicklyon, you are not obligated to use the AFC process, and it is strongly discouraged to accept one's own drafts. You can still create articles as well (draft or otherwise) without being an AFC reviewer. Primefac (talk) 14:51, 26 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I don't generally use the AFC process, but one of my articles in progress got moved to draft and put into the process, and I can't move it back now that it's fleshed out: Draft:MARCS Institute for Brain, Behaviour, and Development. Maybe you can facilitate. I'd still like to be an AFC reviewer. Dicklyon (talk) 20:41, 26 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I took care of that one via WP:RMTR. I'd still like to be an AFC reviewer. Dicklyon (talk) 07:08, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I previously submitted an article through AfC, but then realized that it would take 3 months to review and that I had mainspace rights. Three months is really demoralizing and I want to help reduce the queue. I've read all of the AfC instructions and I'm well familiar with Wikipedia's policies on notability and the AfD process. I did have AFC permissions, but they were removed at one point because I was indefinitely blocked (which was not related to AFC). I have been editing without issue, and would like to help clear some of the backlog of sports articles needing review, as I see there's a lot of drafts listed on Wikipedia:WikiProject Sports/Article alerts. I am reasonably active on AFD, with a 94.5% correct rate (excluding no consensus votes) on last 200 AFDs according to AFD stats. Joseph2302 (talk) 09:45, 25 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I've contributed myself to the steady expansion of the backlog as of late, so I want to make amends for it... All jokes aside, I hope I can help with the reviewing process, having collected over 1.800 edits between en.wiki and it.wiki alone: this record includes over 20 created articles (a few of which were accepted drafts), two GAs and a few DYK nominations. I'm also trying my hand at the AfD process on both the aforementioned Wikis, and I've already reviewed some GA and DYK nominations. For now, my experience is mainly limited to WP:BIOGRAPHY and WP:FOOTBALL, but I'm willing to help with WP:ITALY, WP:WPMUSIC and other topics, as well. I don't mind being put on probation, if needed. @Primefac I only see one direct question, and that was answered on the other user's talk page. Just after they were blocked for edit warring. What does this have to do with AFC? JeffUK 16:50, 17 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Primefac If the concern is my ability and willingness to respond in a timely manner. Note that "Discussion on the wording of 3RR", "Compound of four tetrahedra", and "Edit warring" were all responded to on the referenced pages or talk pages. The only one I didn't actually 'respond' to in some manner was "Hell Theater article speed (sic) deletion revision", I don't remember why exactly, but probably because I had nothing to add over the speedy deletion nom. The article in question had been in draft, and rejected repeatedly, for nearly 6 years, and the creator had been told throughout that the article lacked proof of notability.
The rest are just notes or FYIs that needed no action.
In terms of AFCs, I'll only review as many as I can handle replying to promptly. JeffUK 20:59, 17 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

User:The person who loves reading[edit]

I want to help Wikipedia review draft articles. I have already read WP:AFCR, and understand the process of reviewing draft articles. I understand notability guidelines, and I am able to decide whether the subject of the article is notable or not. I have also read other key policies and guidelines, such as WP:NPOV, WP:V, WP:CS, WP:BLP, WP:NOR, etc. I have some experience in article deletions, and correctly tag articles for CSD a few times. I am very active, and I can respond to a message quickly. I plan to work on articles eligible for the quick fall criteria, such as copyright violation, spam, vandalism, attack page, and existing already. The person who loves reading (talk) 04:18, 19 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

User:DIVINE[edit]

I have effectively helped to reduce the backlog in the past as a former active reviewer with extensive knowledge in reviewing Draft pages.[1] Regrettably, because of disagreements with another editor from WP:ANI, my reviewer rights were taken away. I then took a quick break from the platform. Given the current backlog issue, I am eager to resume the reviewing process. I promise to use this tool appropriately because I recognize its significance and worth. If I need another break, I also assure to ask to have my reviewer position removed. DIVINE (talk) 12:25, 27 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Not done nothing about this ANI discussion convinces me that you should hold AfC rights. I see little evidence that anything has changed since then, and characterizing this incident - in which you were also blocked for personal attacks - as merely "disagreements with another editor" is, in my view, dishonest. Spicy (talk) 13:16, 27 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Completely understandable. Everyone holds their own unique perspective and opinions. I simply offered to assist with the matter, but it's not a significant concern for me. DIVINE (talk) 18:25, 27 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

User:Aplucas0703[edit]

I look through many of the Articles for Creation pages and occasionally make edits to them. I have written my own articles from scratch. I have an understanding of the criteria for article approval and deletion. Generally, I just want to help with the backlog for articles that are an obvious fail or pass. My account is in good standing, and I also possess the pending changes reviewer right. While I generally do abandon my own drafts, and I did have an embarrassing slip-up recently where I submitted for review an article that already existed, it should be noted that I have created multiple pages that have made it through, and I have rarely ever submitted a draft for review that was rejected. I don't participate much in AfD, but I do understand its rules. aaronneallucas (talk) 02:57, 28 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Markmit AfC reviewers must have:
  • a Wikipedia account at least 90 days old.
  • a minimum of 500 undeleted edits to articles (this is not the same as total number of edits).
  • thoroughly read and understood the reviewing instructions.
  • a demonstrated understanding of the policies and guidelines mentioned in the reviewing instructions, including the various notability guidelines.
  • reasonable evidence of understanding the deletion policy(experience in areas such as CSD/AfD/PROD or page curation, while not mandatory, are beneficial).
  • a willingness and ability to respond in a timely manner to questions about their reviews.

I would like to help clear the backlog of AfC submissions by thorougly reviewing submissions and efficiently concluding the reviews. Some of the submissions don't really have much quality either, so I would like to find them and clear them from the backlog, so more submissions of higher quality can be reviewed. I've been wondering where my efforts can make the most impact. The review of new articles in the main space is done more or less quickly, but the themes in Drafts freeze for 3-4 months. I am quite an experienced editor (I've been an administrator on Russian Wikipedia for almost three years and handle the local Incubator-Draft space, among other things). Due to my editing expertise, familiarity with notability, and secondary sources, I might significantly reduce the AfC backlog on several topics. Concerns about referencing? Other than the Dan Dernulc article (which I did not create) there no instances of poor referencing on my talk page. Are you referring to Disambiguation links which of course are accidental and quickly changed. Also can you be less cryptic about AFD stats? Not sure what you are referring to here. Hi! I'd like to become an AFC reviewer to help out the Wikipedia community and help address the backlog, it's been on the back of my mind for a while. Also, due to my own experiences on Wikipedia, I want to provide a welcoming environment for new users submitting their first articles - alerting them to issues and the relevant policy in a collegial way. I've created 13 articles published directly to mainspace and written 4 from pre-existing stubs (see here for list); I'm generally regarded as pretty good with RS, NPOV, and notability guidelines. I'm admittedly not especially well-versed with deletions (I've participated in very few, though one AFD I participated in resulted in me writing the article from a poorly-sourced stub), but I've been reviewing the deletion criteria and AFC reviewer guidelines. My topic areas have usually been niche areas, usually in contentious topics, and I'm hoping to help out Wikipedia more generally outside of those. I have twice now come across AfCs relating to Switzerland that had been rejected eventhough they met notability criteria, so I suspect there's both too much volume to spend a decent amount of time poking around available sources, as well as a shortage of people knowing enough French/German to check references and evaluate Switzerland-related content. I am requesting AfC permissions as I am interested to help clear the (huge) backlog for new articles, helping out Wikipedia (though not necessarily adding content, as I am a "backend" editor), and getting myself ready for NPR/Page Curation. I have participated in XfD and pending changes, and understand the reviewing instructions, WP:notability, deletion guidelines, as well as all other core content rules. Reason for requesting afc helper script rights: I've been helping out users in #wikipedia-en-help and find myself editing a few drafts. It would be great if I could be more involved in this area. I don't really have a lot of AFD participation and/or CSD stats like most of the others on the page, however I do believe I have a good grasp on the general notability guidelines and will try to do my best to ask around if I am unfamiliar with the subject matter or such. (My strengths tend to be general software/technology topics and Indian topics).
Also, unsure if this is relevant, but I helped in on-boarding some new developers for this script (circa 2021) Google Summer of Code 2021 was running as part of the contribution period of T279849 :) Sohom (talk) 15:37, 28 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

User:Spinster300[edit]

Dear AfC, I have recently dipped my toes into improving the quality of and helping research and reformat some drafts submitted at AfC. I am a prolific article creator, having created over 400 short/stub articles (biographies, and particularly biographies of women as I am quite active on Women in Red) over the past 5 years I have been on Wikipedia; several of those article have gone on to sprout and become larger articles. I would like to help with the immense backlog this WikiProject has, especially in the area of biographies on women. Unfortunately, it is true that I have never actively participated in AfD (which was a mandatory requirement to enter this project a few years ago but I see now that it is optional), but I have been a thorough spectator over the years – my reluctance in putting my two cents in has been because I naturally tend to avoid heated edit conflicts/arguments that many AfD discussions tend to become. In all other regards, I look forward to any questions any administrators may have about my editing/article creation approach. Thank you for considering me. Kindest regards, Spinster300 (talk) 12:40, 25 September 2023 (UTC).[reply]
Dear Primefac, I would like you to note that Drmies has kindly added me to Wikipedia:New pages patrol/Reviewers; thus, given the updated permission for new page reviewers in May 2023, I am now able to make use of the AfC Helper script. However, I will wait for your as-per-protocol go-ahead here before beginning to review any drafts. Thank you and kind regards, Spinster300 (talk) 13:03, 26 September 2023 (UTC).[reply]
Hello, in the past few days, I have come to review two drafts just to test the waters. I have improved many others yet waiting for review. Kind regards, Spinster300 (talk) 18:26, 29 September 2023 (UTC).[reply]
@Spinster300. Thanks for applying for AFC. Now that you're approved for NPR you are automatically approved for AFC. Feel free to consider your AFC application accepted and review as many drafts as you'd like. Just be careful: your autopatrol means your draft accepts skip NPP review, so you are the only set of eyes unless you unpatrol it. Happy editing. –Novem Linguae (talk) 02:21, 30 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Novem Linguae, thank you for your kind message! I have already put some work in after receiving these rights (feel free to check my AFC log). And thank you for keeping me forewarned; I will be sure to reach out to more experienced editors, or mark the page un-patrolled if I think it needs better combing through. I formerly had permanent AFC rights. I was blocked 6 months ago for block evasion. However, I was in good faith at the time of the block. So please give me access to the AFC script again. Thank you Akevsharma (talk) 03:28, 15 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This is correct: the block evasion was very minor (to the point that I felt a block was unnecessary) and there was no whiff of UPE, so unless there are other concerns I'd recommend reïnstating. Extraordinary Writ (talk) 07:13, 16 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Have been a member of Wikipedia for a few years, and in the last two years have made over 500 edits. I believe I now have a strong understanding of what is required for notability and an article to be accepted. The primary reason I want to do this is to speed up the rate at which football articles are reviewed to improve the coverage of the sport. Yoblyblob (talk) 13:34, 2 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not done for now. While you do have a solid CSD record for a (relatively) new user, G11s are easy to spot and are in some ways the lowest rung of the "notability" ladder. Your lack of AFD participation, plus a few deleted pages, has me concerned you do not have a solid understanding (yet) of the notability policies in a broader sense. @KINGHB190 I suggest that you don't go a-hunting for articles to nominate, but a solid record of offering relevant opinions that generally match the eventual outcome will hone your skills. New to AfD, you might start with those where others have offered opinions in order to learn. I am not the final arbiter here, just offering my opinion. •  Not done I have numerous concerns about the age of your account, how fast you are moving and that you don't quite understand the purpose of this right. It's not a "recognition" to help you "feel motivated" (see WP:HATCOLLECT). In addition, it's important for AfC reviewers to be able to communicate clearly with new editors and I find some of your talk page comments difficult to understand. For instance, I have no idea what you're trying to express by rest is upon my ideals and old users. Spicy (talk) 20:41, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there! I've been editing Wikipedia on and off for 3 years, have around 2500 edits, participate consistently in AFDs, created around 15 pages (including one using the AFC process!) and was a former AFC Reviewer under the username "ArsenalGhanaPartey." I would love to get working on the backlog again. TheInevitables (talk) 20:02, 17 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@TheInevitables Forgive me, your user talk page suggest you to be semi-retired from Wikipedia with effect from October 2023?
I find your AfD statistics somewhat confusing, Perhaps your user renaming, assuming that to be what it was, has caused anomalous results? 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 21:15, 17 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, apologies for my mistake. That was a tag that was on my user talk page for around a year that I simply neglected to remove.
My AfD statistics seem to have been altered, yes. They don't seem to be accurate, and I have participated significantly more often in AfD discussions than they seem to suggest. TheInevitables (talk) 22:38, 17 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • I am applying to ensure the regional content is accurately represented and that Local notable topics, culture, history and personalities receive proper recognition on a global platform. Several our fellow Wikimedians' contents from around these regions because people that review some this contents don't have a perspective of this regions topics and editors perspectives.Micheal Kaluba (talk) 07:15, 2 November 2023 (UTC) Micheal Kaluba (talk) 07:15, 2 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your AFD stats aren't terrible but they aren't great either. Primefac (talk) 09:36, 12 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I am interested in helping review articles to see if they are constructive or not. I have worked hard to help revert vandalism on Wikipedia, and if I participate in this, I will be able to check newly submitted pages and try to help improve Wikipedia. I also feel like I have a solid understanding of how the pages work as I have read the criteria and seen what the PROD, XFD, and other buttons do on Twinkle. Reverting vandalism alone is not going to be enough for me, as I do also want to check for any inadequate sources in pages or make sure the pages don't attack editors. Thank you. NPR (Dec)[edit]

User:Dan Leonard[edit]

I've been editing for nearly fifteen years and am very familiar with Wikipedia's content policies. I am fairly familiar with AfD and have contributed to a discussion or two. I've also recently run a draft through AfC (despite being extended-confirmed) to better familiarize myself with its policies and procedures firsthand. I have interacted well with other users, moved and merged pages, and have received no sanctions in my history. My contributions on Commons, while infrequent, also demonstrate a knowledge of copyright policy, which is useful in reviewing drafts for creation which I'm sure can sometimes be heavily plagiarized or copied from outside sources. User:PD Slessor[edit]

Feel very confident in judging suitability for Wikipedia. Have created over 25 BLPs, none of which were deleted, and earned Auto-patroled. I'd like to help lower the backlog, and think I can swiftly make determinations with surgical accuracy as to whether something passes or fails wikipedias guidlines and policies. I believe I can use my grip on the policies of Wikipedia to help efficiently drive the backlog down. PD Slessor (talk) 06:58, 13 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Not done for largely the same reasons as your declined NPR request. You have been participating in AfD for a total of two days and only began participating after applying for NPR perms. The duplicate request above doesn't inspire confidence either. I think you should focus on improving mainspace content rather than acquiring new user rights for the foreseeable future. Spicy (talk) 12:20, 13 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
ok, should I not apply again? @Spicy PD Slessor (talk) 19:49, 13 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
My line of thinking was that, when wanting to help contribute outside of high standard creations and edits, I could help review. I respect your judgement, but I didn't think AfD participation was a requirement, the requirements only mentioned it was preferred. I have experience in page creation, and sometimes, I get writers block or spend a lot of time looking for places to add value. Although if you feel this is the final answer, I will respect it. Not sure why there was a dual request. Apologies. @Spicy PD Slessor (talk) 20:01, 13 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Reason for requesting afc helper script rights: I think I meet the criteria. I want to investigate a review, and see how the helper works. I have been on wikipedia for a while and created many articles. K-Pop contributor (✍️📚) 04:21, 15 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure how much CSD has to do with an evaluation for AFC but you just tagged a draft for speedy deletion G13 that was just created a week ago. You'll have to be more up-to-date on your knowledge of speedy deletion criteria and when they apply if you are going to be reviewing drafts. You can't make a mistake like this twice, especially for a new editor who had only made 2 edits. This was not only incorrect it was also bitey. Liz Read! Talk! 05:08, 15 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The draft on the topic already exists so while tagging i tagged another tag K-Pop contributor (✍️📚) 13:30, 15 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure what this even means. Are you saying that you placed the wrong CSD tag on this draft? Because I can't think of another speedy deletion criteria that would have been appropriate for Draft:Yeji. Liz Read! Talk! 00:17, 16 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

User:Antonio Vinzaretti[edit]

I'll be honest. I registered for creating a few pages about cryptocurrency industry (TO THE MOON!) and some Ukraine-related fame things. I created a few pages, but some of them was removed even if I disagree. I not insulted, I just lose trust in community where my good faith no appreciated and good work at draft rejected without leaving any comment. In parallel I see Bybit, XDC Network and many other articles which obviosly doing bad things such as promotion, pure COI and any violations. Even when I notice editors that they are violate anything - they enter "Undo" and continue. I feel alone. I want to get right to review for example Draft:XDC Network and and similar articles which I met rarely. I not promise be daily active, Wiki is just my new hobby. Open to suggestions. I meet the requirements and have published multiple articles, and I have read the instructions for AfC and would like to begin participating in AfC.

Antonio Vinzaretti (talk) 11:49, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Antonio Vinzaretti,
Just curious, are you only interested in reviewing articles on certain subjects that you are interested in? Or in the general process of reviewing drafts and helping bring down the backlog? Liz Read! Talk! 04:20, 20 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for question. It's a new tool to me. I think I can be useful only regarding politics and economics. Cryptocurrencies industry just my hobby like videogames to someone, but I think I am expert too on it. So at least I want just do the AfC work properly. So I received exp where reviewers even not want properly review anything. I want to show how it should works. I still believe in the community. Antonio Vinzaretti (talk) 18:53, 20 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You seem more deserving of a CIR block. You come here to complain that you want to push your hobbies and so want permission to override the draft system? Your talk page evinces that you don't understand/ don't care about article requirements, so I oppose you being given any user permissions. Chris Troutman (talk) 19:33, 20 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I not insist. Antonio Vinzaretti (talk) 13:03, 21 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It is not about "helping bring down the backlog?", It is about quality. For example, who reviewed Bybit, which violated many guidelines? I even won't approve anything, just declining draft which close to WP:ONEEVENT and WP:MIL and inform authors by comments to extend articles. It is my style and point of view. If Wiki doesn't need me, I don't care. It was fun. Antonio Vinzaretti (talk) 19:41, 20 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
