searching for the name of a film[edit]

I would like to know from which film the black and white scenes (the motorcycle with the sidecar crossing the tracks just in front of the locomotive and the man (is it really Charlie Chaplin?) hanging between train and car at the end of the video) in the following music video were taken from: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P6sI_UhdzFs --217.186.198.3 (talk) 20:34, 4 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I can't find it but I don't think it's Chaplin. Dismas|(talk) 21:19, 4 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think that Chaplin is seen in the clip either. I'm pretty sure that the big man is Mack Swain and I should know the other actor with the droopy mustache but I am drawing a blank at the moment. MarnetteD|Talk 21:27, 4 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Ding ding. I think the second man is Chester Conklin but a check of youtube shows that the film is not Love, Speed and Thrills. Maybe someone else will be able to find it. MarnetteD|Talk 21:32, 4 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Might the man hanging between train and car be Monty Banks in Play Safe? See this ad, e.g., and while I didn't find the entire movie, I did happen upon this clip from 'Footage Farm' showing the excerpt you referred to. ---Sluzzelin talk 13:00, 5 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
As for the motorcycle-with-sidecar scene, it is from a film by Larry Semon from 1920, according to The Huntley Archives: You can view the clip of four minutes and read more about it on their page "Film: 2849", but the only title there is "Larry Semon Train Comedy". ---Sluzzelin talk 13:38, 5 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Excellent research Sluzzelin Your work indicates that the music videos clips come from several silents. I've tried various searches combining Swain, Conklin and eating at a restaurant (train and otherwise) and have come up empty. But it looks like you found the answers to the OPs question so that may not matter. MarnetteD|Talk 19:26, 5 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
