Which baseball players' magazine photos were used as reference for MLB logo?[edit]

Note: 1st time question Poser

RE: MLB logo w/possible pictorial candidates

Hi.,

ask.com poses a daily trivia question and I'm curious about further info re question of 9/23/2015. Although the baseball player in question on the MLB logo is "no one specific player in particular", according to Wikipedia, it is based upon "several baseball players from magazine photos collected" and used as reference for the creation of the logo. As an avid trivia hound, if it can be ascertained, I would greatly appreciate "which specific baseball players" were on the magazine photos used as reference in creation of the MLB logo? Maybe H. Killebrew WAS one of the photos? 2602:306:CFE4:91B0:9861:1893:6A5C:731D (talk) 18:49, 23 September 2015 (UTC) https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?action=edit&preload=&editintro=&preloadtitle=&section=new&title=Wikipedia%3AReference+desk%2FEntertainment&create=Ready%3F+Ask+a+new+question%21#[reply]

According to this interview of the purported designer, he doesn't remember:
Jerry Dior: I did a couple of variations based on photographs I had. It was sort of composite of what I had in front of me.
UW: Do you recall who the players were in those photographs?
JD: No, no way. Again, I never really thought much about it -- I just did it. Clarityfiend (talk) 21:57, 23 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Also, this Wall Street Journal Dior quote states, "It's not Harmon Killebrew. It's not anyone in particular." Clarityfiend (talk) 22:01, 23 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
This all seems covered in our article. 64.235.97.146 (talk) 15:55, 24 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The profile of a broad-shouldered batter looks generic, although it certainly could have been suggested by top-heavy batters such as Killebrew, Mickey Mantle, Frank Howard, etc. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 05:10, 27 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
