Expansion needed at Festy cock [edit]

Hello, I approved your article since it meets our basic requirements and we're backlogged so I didn't want to play back-forth with it to get you to expand it. That said, it'd be a way better article if you try and add a few more sentences explaining why this dish exists. Is it a Lenten non-meat dish, a poverty dish? Why are they eating a pancake and calling it a chicken? Seems like there's a story behind it!

Take a look at Google Books, there are a number of mentions of the dish and its social role there. Not you can turn any gBooks URL into a full Wikipedia footnote using http://reftag.appspot.com . Try to flesh it out just a little more for context. If you or your friends ever cook one, also by all means upload a photo for the article.

Nice work so far! MatthewVanitas (talk) 15:42, 13 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
