The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Eastern News Agency,(ENA), and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.billomatic.net/ena/.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. A tag has been placed on File:Head Office ENA.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Hello. I am Diannaa and I am an administrator on this wiki. The article has now been deleted. Please don't upload any more photos that you find on the Internet or elsewhere. Photos that you find online are copyright, and we are not allowed to display them on this wiki. You should ony upload photos that you have taken yourself. Also, prose you find online is almost always copyright, and cannot be copied here; it's against the law to do so. All prose must be written in your own words. There's more information about copyrights and how it applies to Wikipedia at Wikipedia:FAQ/Copyright. Copyright law and its application are complex matters, and you should not edit any more until you have taken the time to read and understand our copyright policies. Further copyright violations will result in you being blocked from editing. -- Diannaa (talk) 21:53, 2 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, SpokesManBD. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Eastern News Agency, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies. Note that Wikipedia's terms of use require disclosure of your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation.

Copyrights and promotion[edit]

Hi! I don't see where anyone has really talked to you about the issues with copyrighted material when it comes to promotional materials. I do see where Diannaa has talked to you about copyrights, though.

The problem with copyrighted material is that most of the time the material was created to promote the topic, in this case ENA. Even if you file a ticket with Wikipedia that would give the site permission to use the copyrighted material you would still have to re-write the content to meet the site's neutrality guidelines and to make it encyclopedic. Wikipedia is not a place to promote something and it's not like Linkedin where you can create a profile page to promote something and include promotional content. Promotional content is fine in places like press releases, official websites, and social media sites, but it isn't acceptable on Wikipedia- especially since ENA does not own the Wikipedia page. This is one of the things that makes Wikipedia so different from other places. A lot of people come on to Wikipedia expecting that it'll be like putting a profile up on Crunchbase or other business database type websites.

It also appears that you work for ENA, so this poses another problem. When you have a close conflict of interest it is sometimes difficult to view the subject neutrally. This is especially difficult if you typically work in a marketing department or other sort of PR work since you become very used to inserting promotional, WP:PEACOCK phrasing into everything you write. It may not be the best idea for you to write this article since you are so new to Wikipedia and you've had some issues with trying to re-add this material repeatedly. This doesn't mean that you can't edit in other ways or that you can never edit the article, but I would recommend that at the very least you refrain from adding any text or images that have been previously printed elsewhere. I also heavily recommend that you look over the basic guidelines for editing on Wikipedia since as a COI editor you will be expected to know the guidelines very, very well.

I need to warn you- continually re-adding promotional material (let alone potentially copyrighted material) can lead to you getting temporarily or permanently blocked from editing. Being unaware of the guidelines isn't entirely something that will save you, because if the attempts to re-add the promotional content are so numerous that it becomes very disruptive then you may be blocked just to make you slow down and look over guidelines. I'll post another message about all of this in a moment, but I wanted to make sure that you are aware that the problems with copyrighted material are larger than just copyright laws. It's usually just better to write everything from scratch to begin with. Heck, even when the source material is fairly neutral you will continually run into issues with editors seeing the content as promotional. I remember one case where a person's biography was very neutrally written, yet a few of us ended up having to re-write the article just because people kept coming on and challenging the article. Please be notified that Eastern News Agency published all articles & Notes which are not promotional. It is encyclopedic contents without a doubt. There are thousands of website like for example Xinhua News Agency they do the same, you can see there wikipedia , too. Secondly so far the issue was copy right contents and licensing issues which we rectified and permitted you to deal it. Third at this instance - we would like to inform you all the wikipedia information of Eastern News Agecny are with Reference links and External links, this is not promotional purpose. We have our own promotional people to deal with social media . The whole thing that eventually happened with your volunteers were misunderstanding.

Eastern News Agency was published since long in Wikipedia and the remarks before was in the talk page that no copyright conflict of interest . You can check earlier remarks. Also same content we enclosed orderly with Contents of Background, History, About Us , Achievement are not conflict of interest to any one and also not promotional. Its absolutely encyclopedic.

So Diana , Chris tokyogirls , bondeao , the volunteers are mentioning points are related with facts and also in general terms. Our information are fully neutral and no conflict of interest. Please activate our wikipedia sites for common interest & good cause. This is a Historic News Agency of Bangladesh since 1968 with historic achievement and world should know about it.

Thank you for understanding.

  • Actually, things can be promotional without ENA intending for them to be promotional. Just because they say that the intent wasn't to promote the agency doesn't mean that it isn't promotional per Wikipedia's guidelines. If multiple editors are tagging the article for speedy deletion as promotional content (in addition to copyright issues) then that's time to stop and look to see why they're tagging it. Just because you say it's not promotional and ENA says it's not promotional doesn't mean that it isn't promotional. There's a huge, huge difference between publishing things off of Wikipedia and publishing things on here. Offhand a quick look at one of the articles shows that you very liberally hotlinked to the news website with various "For more" links. This is part of why the article was seen as promotional. The goal of Wikipedia is not to drive readers to ENA's website. I also noticed that it contained some buzzwords and sentences that would come across as PR speak. Here's an example: "Presently Eastern News Agency is equipped with “state of the art of modern technology “ in the pave of information superhighway and processing to inter connect through Data Call online Services to all major news agencies of the world." That sentence was written with the intent to promote ENA and like I said above, this would be fine on ENA's own website, but not on an encyclopedia entry. That you cannot see the difference between the two and that you don't really seem to understand where you've done things wrong (despite multiple editors trying to help you) is pretty troubling. The fact is that despite your claims, you uploaded material that was copyrighted. Editors have told you that the website writing "no one but Wikipedia can use this" on their website is not enough, nor is simply stating on your userpage that people can use the content. I'm explicitly telling you that the material has issues with promotional material, which is part of the reason that the pages were deleted and that this will need to be fixed even if ENS gives up copyright. You will not be able to leave the page as it was on any of the pages that were deleted. This has been repeatedly stated to you and after almost a dozen deletions it should be pretty clear that the way that you think that copyright and promotional content on Wikipedia works is not the way it actually works. I'll flat out say it: if you keep uploading content the way you have been you will be blocked from editing, probably permanently if you cannot show that you understand why the pages keep getting deleted. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 08:22, 5 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • You're not really showing that you're here to learn policy- by continually trying to say that there was nothing wrong with the content and that this was all a mistake done by several editors (some of which are site administrators and many of whom have been on here for years) you're really coming across like your only intent is to promote ENA. It also makes it seem like even if the article is recreated, that you will just try to reinstate content that has already been established as inappropriate for several reasons. I can't caution you enough- you really, really need to look over the site's policies about all of this. These editors are not creating policy on the spot. These are all established guidelines. Thank you tokyogirl for your notification . We will remove the words as you indicated and shall follow the guideline. NO problem. Please allow us to upload with complete text as you guided . There will be no promotional quotes . We will remove it. Ok thanks

  • I would recommend that you create a draft at WP:AfC rather than create an article in the mainspace. That way the material can be QC'd before it is accepted back into the mainspace. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 09:17, 5 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the support again.

Block[edit]

SpokesManBD, I have deleted your draft article for copyright violations. The material was copied from here and here without evidence of permission. For copyright reasons, we can't reproduce copyright material that has appeared elsewhere online without the express written permission of the copyright holder, and a release under a CC-By-SA 3.0 or other compatible license. This safeguard is intended to protect the rights of copyright holders. The email you already sent was inadequate to fulfil this legal requirement. The permission has to come directly from the copyright holder, and has to be sent to the OTRS team via email, from an email address associated with the copyright holder. Instructions as to how to word the email are provided at WP:consent. There's additional information on donating copyright material at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. Repeated explanations of our legal requirements have not stopped you from re-submitting this copyright material, so I have had to block your account. -- Diannaa (talk) 15:37, 9 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

All external links are sole matter of the historic background which is encyclopedic. The Reference links are evidence and website link used in the external-ink to prove the same account and have no conflict of interest. Please help and sort out. We have removed all necessary information that you objected and only kept encyclopedic contents. We already maintained the WP consent and duly email dated on 4th May from our email id of the head of ENA organization which chiefeditor@ena-news.com regarding permissions. Please check and assist and help us to unblock the account. Please note we are here to make our content encyclopedic not for promotion off course.

Thank You

Thank you for your message. As you can see higher up on this page, an email was received on May 4, but it was not adequate. If you have sent a subsequent email that releases the material under a CC-By-SA 3.0 or other compatible license, a member of the OTRS team will be able to restore the article. Saying in your email that "there's no copyright issue" or that "Wikipedia is exempted" is not adequate. The best wording to use for the email is that provided at WP:consent. Since you don't seem to understand, it's best that the draft stay deleted. You have an obvious conflict of interest and should not be editing on this topic regardless of the copyright issue. -- Diannaa (talk) 16:48, 9 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Since copyright permission indeed has been resolved, I have unblocked the account; however, I agree with Diannaa that your strong conflict of interest makes it very difficult for you to neutrally edit that subject. Huon (talk) 02:51, 8 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Notification to Timtrent

It is very unfortunate that you have nominated our draft for deletion. The reason which you mentioned are very biased and not inclusive in perspective to Bangladesh and its proposition. The Article is edited several times with exclusion of whatever necessary references. The latest references used from National Encyclopedia and also from the State Head Condolence message published from the largest Newspaper of Bangladesh which relates the contribution of ENA significantly and wide coverage. It your own discretion power that you have used and applied set conditions to Wikipedia. We strongly condemned and also notify there are many articles which are baseless on Wikiipedia but still on publication. Our issue was only copy right issue , no other matter. In various moments a new amateur volunteers came up and used their discretion power to select and reject on baseless ground. Our narration includes all independent lawful points regarding reference and relevancy of the article. Volunteers are not authority to direct authors which angle or what condition they should write articles . It is the author to decide notable article for readers attention without harming global community. Anyway we assume Wikipedia does not require us and that is why such amateur volunteers coming up every time since 35 days raising unwanted issues which are not relevant information and biased off course. Our all notification and references information are reliable , traceable and on records documents. Wikipedia declines President Prime Ministers of Bangladesh recognition , National encyclopedia of Bangladesh recognition and National News paper coverage recognition and take it into account as not reliable source. What is the credibility of Wikipedia? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.102.32.106 (talk) 07:23, 12 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Notification to Volunteers of Wikipedia

Specially Chris , Diaana , Wordbruce & TimTrent, Huon - Most of you are highly inefficient , not attentive and not follow wikipedia. WIkipedia organization should eliminate those Volunteers creates fictitious statement with falsified statement using discretionary power. The WP rules & conditions not applied in many cases. Please check the total draft of Eastern News Agency . The major issue was copy right issue which OTRS confirmed with permission . All of them were ignorant and later comes up with article creation problem , reference problem and many many things which are irrelevant. They don't accept national news paper of bangladesh references, national encyclopedia of Bangladesh reference , they dont care President & Prime Ministers recognition to specific organization of bangladesh which is reliable on records documents. No matter today we are not here in Wikipedia but we condemned such bad ethics and racism specially TIMTRENT & DIANNA , most insensible volunteers so far we observed. The best one was Tokyogirl as volunteers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.102.32.106 (talk) 08:09, 12 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Both Timtrent and myself dedicate many hours each day to Wikipedia and have high ethical standards. Neither of us has been motivated by racism in our dealings with you. While the copyright issue was the most serious problem with your article and the one that let to your block, there's still many issues with your draft and it will likely never be published as an article. The other users you mention – Chris, Wordbruce, and Huon – are likewise experienced volunteers with the best interests of Wikipedia at heart. Please stop attacking other editors. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. -- Diannaa (talk) 14:26, 12 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

ATTN WIKIPEDIA Community

Please be notified that the above Volunteers notification is indirectly warning to us in order to block the accounts. They used every time discretionary power and execute it. They don't indicate actual problem. First of all copyright issue was resolved . OTRS confirmed it. Second article contents was also ok . It was the reference issue which we enclosed. At this moment there is no issue only issue is the Volunteers are not happy with us. That is the reason they provide self opinion using discretionary power. They even unable to indicate problems . If the wikipedia community clearly scrutinize our draft , there is no really mistake in actual way , literally. This is the volunteers intentionally they are doing all these to showcase their efficiency which is fake & falsified. We condemned it strongly. Volunteers if you remove or delete us we will open new ip and account and publish articles. Don't worry , its a challenge. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.102.32.106 (talk) 00:44, 13 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Although the link describe its existence and evidence that it was historic too. The draft with edited version has no copy right details and belongs to the same account of SpokesmanBD for edit purpose. I would take your kind attention to help and obliged thereby.
