Literal Quoting[edit]

Hello, I notice you have been editing articles to place punctuation inside quotes even though the punctuation is not part of the quoted text. While this is a common practice in English, the Wikipedia Manual of Style requires literal quoting. With literal quoting, punctuation is included inside the quoted text only if it is actually part of that text. For example, in list of song titles, the commas separating the songs should be outside the quotes, and if the a song title ends a sentence, the period should be outside the quotes. See MOS:LQ for more information. Thanks. --hulmem (talk) 18:17, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for letting me know that.--Slowlikemolasses (talk) 22:50, 30 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
