Your recent addition to Pater familias has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

You appear to have done this in good faith at this article and Women in Ancient Rome, but I have to ask you to stop. Read the links I've given you above, start making small changes of your own - with references of course. Remember that Wikipedia articles shouldn't be building up arguments but reporting what reliable sources have to say about a subject giving all significant points of view - this is covered at WP:NPOV. Take a look at some of our featured articles to see what they are like. WP:Content is another place to discuss content.

I've just looked at your comments on the talk page of Roman Empire - that's a good way to go about editing when there are other active editors. I suggest you build on that where you will be able to get feedback from other editors interested in the article.

Hi Scriptus. I thought it more appropriate to post here than on the talk pages of the articles you've been editing: those are really intended for discussion of specific improvements to specific articles. Please read Dougweller's welcome message - it's much more than a polite formality - and follow its links - they give the low-down on everything Wikipedian and are essential reading. I've only been editing here about six months myself and still use a "personal" user page as a Sandbox for developing articles , then leave it a while and re-read it for the inevitable flaws. I think quite a few editors do this. Anyway, I've now re-written this message several times because it seemed rather patronising, which was contrary to my intent. Hi, Scriptus (I keep thinking you must be a Scripta). Could you take a look at Women's rights#Rome and perhaps add a sentence or two? This section should reflect "Rome" as most people think of it: that is, from the Late Republic and throughout the Empire. Not just the early period. Also, I'm pretty sure I recall women being called as witnesses in trials. Nor do I see how Stoic philosophy could the prime mover in the change from a wife "belonging" to her husband to her remaining part of her own family; this change seems to have occurred before Stoic philosophy permeated the upper classes, and Roman law grew of the mos maiorum, not philosophy per se, particularly at this period.
