Disappearance_of_Kimberly_McAndrew[edit]

I am writing an article about the Disappearance_of_Kimberly_McAndrew and I would to have your feedback on this article, I feel it is part of our Canadian history of missing person in Nova Scotia. I would like to keep it on Wikipedia.jbignell (talk) 00:21, 21 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ishman Bracey[edit]

LOL Rob! I swear I had no idea you wrote the Ishman Bracey stub--I accessed it through the "Blues guitarists" category that I've recently be trying to get up and running. I promise I'm not just following you around!  :) I'm sure we'll meet at another "cross road" before too long... --buck 02:33, 3 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Blues vs. Gospel: The Battle of the Century[edit]

Hey, Rob! I just wanted to say that in spite of are increasingly heated discussion of Blind Willie Johnson, I am enjoying conversing with someone who shares my passion for blues (gospel, soul, jazz, ragtime...). You are obviously knowledgable in the music you so fiercely defend. I'd like to know a little more about you--are you planning on putting together a user page?

I hope our equal passion for (and inevitable disagreement over) the music of BWJ, John Hurt, Blind Lemon Jefferson, etc will connect us as allies rather than force us to be enemies! --buck 05:34, 26 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

  • Just visited your website. I'm drooling over your collection of 78s. Good Lord! :) --buck 14:26, 26 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Please move the people in their respective subcategories. Only if the main category is limited, it'll be easy to navigate. So please don't revert the changes. If you think it'll need a different subcategory or more, please do so. KittenKlub 10:55, 28 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Found at Last![edit]

This is probably old news to you, but Son House's "Clarksdale Moan" record has finally been found! I wanted to direct you to the article because I've updated it to the best of my knowledge, but I'm banking on you having some more input. Needless to say, I'm ecstatic. Peace & plenty... --buck 07:17, 23 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Confirmation that User:Kwantus passed away[edit]

You left a message on User:Kwantus that the editor passed away. Can you confirm this, including (if possible) a link to an obituary or something. I have created a page at Wikipedia:Deceased Wikipedians and would like to honor Kwantus on the page but need more information and a source of info to do so. Thanks for any help you can give.--Alabamaboy 00:00, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for confirming the information and giving his obit. I'll add him to the memorial page. Sincerely, --Alabamaboy 13:46, 24 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I've now added his information to Wikipedia:Deceased Wikipedians. Please let me know if there is anything I should add or change because I want this to be a memorial to him and his work here at Wikipedia.--Alabamaboy 14:00, 24 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Kwantus[edit]

Hi - I feel your pain (suffered from the tragic loss of some very dear people myself) and I wish all the very best to Hume's family - in the time he gave to Wikipedia, he was a teacher to millions. As much as it is hard to preserve his exact edits, his contribution will never lose its significance. At least he's resting in one of the most beautiful places in the world. Busking[edit]

I noticed on User talk:130.65.109.104#John Hurt - busker? that you mentioned that you have been a busker yourself, and also that you have had at least one occation to have a "discussion" with this contributer to the Busking article, who also happens to use multiple IP addresses for thier contribs. This same individual seems to have taken offence to recent edits that I have made to the article, and seems to be trying to start a edit war over them. I'd be intrested to hear your opions on the matter, and invite you help improve that article if you're intrested. Thanks, -- Argon233TC @  19:26, 20 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey![edit]

Maybe this is a Nova Scotia thing, using our real names! Yeah, Carston really hooked me up with the good press! WayeMason 10:46, 25 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Back lanes[edit]

Hi, There's a lane behind the houses on the west side of Oxford Street between Norwood St and Jubilee Rd that is used for several purposes. I also had in mind the Westmount development in the west end, although maybe those are more pathways than back lanes, I guess. Many rowhouses in the north end also have little back lanes here and there. Cheers, Sprocket 02:18, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Help with RFC[edit]

Hello fellow Wikipedia:WikiProject_Nova_Scotia member. I have recently lodged a Request for Comments on the Talk:Halifax, Nova Scotia page. I and several other editors have had a running dispute with user Lonewolf BC. The RFC is This is a dispute about whether it is accurate to continue to refer to the area of or approximately coinciding with the boundaries of the City of Halifax, which became a part of the rural/urban Halifax Regional Municipality in 1996, as a city.

Basically, as I say on the RFC, we all agree that this is no longer a City, but to use former City's boundaries when describing the current urban area as a "city" (note the lower case) is at best arbitrary and at worst a fabrication. The city is now a continuous area that wraps the harbour, from Portuguese Cove (outside of the city of Halifax to the west and south) to Cole Harbour (outside of the former City of Dartmouth to the east). People now refer to the entire urban area of Halifax Regional Municipality as 'the city' and 'Halifax'.

Anyway, the bottom line is at least five people have tried to change the wording of the intro since January, and every time this one user changes it back. I have tried to come up with compromise wording, and he won't dialog. Right now wikipedia says HRM and Halifax are the capital of Nova Scotia. This article is now factually incorrect, in my opinion, and I need your help, please chime in. WayeMason 23:09, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there![edit]

Hi Rob, I was wondering if we have actually met. Are you related to Bill Hutton? Your name is familiar to me. Thanks and best wishes.--RobNS 21:14, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WP:CVU status[edit]

The Wikipedia:Counter-Vandalism Unit project is under consideration to be moved to {{inactive}} and/or {{historical}} status. Another proposal is to delete or redirect the project. You have been identified as a project member and your input as to this matter would be welcomed at WT:CVU#Inactive.3F and at the deletion debate. Thank you! Van Meegeren biography[edit]

Hi Rob, you asked for the Van Meegeren biography in English. You can find it at *www.quantes.nl: English Van Meegeren biography. I tried to contact you at the e-mail address you gave in your website, but didn't get an answer. Is the address still valid: rob@hutten.org?

By the way are you Dutch or of Dutch origin? Primasz (talk) 08:31, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I tried to contact you at your e-mail address rob@hutten.org but didn't succeed. Is it the right address? Please let me know. Primasz (talk) 17:37, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Basically, because Primasz told me to during a discussion we have been having by email. I didn't realize anyone was watching, I guess we will have to be more transparent, sorry.--DO11.10 (talk) 00:47, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Steve Carlson (singer)[edit]

Hi, I noticed you nominated this article for deletion, and while I am inclined to agree with you, I am not sure that you completed all the steps of the AfD process. I am unable to find this article's entry on the AfD page, which is probably why this AfD isn't getting any attention. You need to go to the WP:AFD page and add an entry to the top of the list of active AfD's. Let me know if you have any problems.

Oh, and while I share the same name as this individual, I am not the same person and have no WP:COI issues here! Steve CarlsonTalk 22:35, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Steve. Yeah, I'm still trying to get my head around the process... thanks for the heads-up. --RobHutten (talk) 02:56, 5 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just been wondering...[edit]

You did not think this was vandalism, did you? :P (Err, that being so, when you're reverting an edit that's not vandalism, you're supposed to put something else in the edit summary...)

All right, just needed to know. Thanks! (I was originally going to put it as a reference, since I thought the article might need an online reference, as well as a book one, but whatever. :P)

Willie Nile[edit]

Regarding your comments on the Willie Nile page, and the changes you made, for what its worth take a look at the Peter and Gordon page. BuffaloBob (talk) 11:04, 21 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You replaced “burst on the rock music scene” with “released”. That, to me, is less of a “peacock phrase” than “rocketed to fame” which appears in the first paragraph of the Peter and Gordon article. BuffaloBob (talk) 22:59, 21 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
