Mineral Fire

Hi, I'm BlitzkriegCat. I'm sorry if you were taken aback by the sudden deletion of the Mineral Fire's page. Per guidelines given by WikiProject Wildfire, I believe it would be in the best interest if the page could be summarized concisely, instead of a day-to-day report. Anyhow, I will halt the efforts until we can agree to a consensus on how to best fix this page in line with the task force's guidelines. BlitzkriegCat (talk) 02:06, 1 July 2021 (UTC)

Vendee Globe "unsourced" info

My edit that you (or a bot?) reverted as "unsourced" is a simple piece of clarifying information that is trivially verifiable by the results table on the same page. I see no reason why it should be removed. 73.83.87.245 (talk) 00:08, 2 July 2021 (UTC)

Zerafa Edit

Hi There.

You deleted my update on Michael Zerafa pulling out of the fight against Tszyu. You obviously do not live in Australia and I am not sure who gave you the Authority to fact check and for you to determine who can update what, but you clearly have no idea what you are talking about, despite your opinion of yourself. So, no I will not re-edit it, you can undo your actions. No one has to prove themselves to you, an unknown keyboard warrior and an unelected/authorised fact checker. Perhaps before you delete things that other have edited, it may be better for you to research if its correct before you delete (even though your a not a wikipedia god) not do what you have done. Your actions are clearly to make yourself feel important. Ps..for your knowledge that is common knowledge that you decided to delete, here is the appropiate link that you decided was "fake news". I am sure you will delete this again as you are good at silencing people as you have been found out and proven wrong but here is the link https://www.espn.com.au/boxing/story/_/id/31740534/michael-zerafa-withdraws-tim-tszyu-fight-steve-spark-step-in

Hi Javahurricane, Please stop with the unauthorised deleting then. Where is the evidence that my editing was incorrect to be deleted in the first place? As my link shows my editing was 100% correct.

You have been given the instructions as to how to cite the source for the change. As it appears you are only interested in trolling and personal attacks, I'm afraid I cannot help you. JavaHurricane 05:14, 2 July 2021 (UTC)
Please read WP:CITE and properly cite your changes. I doubt you will be reverted then. JavaHurricane 05:18, 2 July 2021 (UTC)

Hey there,

You undid by undo edit on Gavin Peacock's page - you'll find this was clearly just removing a copy and pasted hyperlink to his book on amazon. If this wasn't the best way to fix this let me know.

Leigh Blackmore page edit by Leigh Blackmore

Hi, I received a message that you had removed an unsourced change I made on the page that refers to me. I made a couple of different changes today and am unsure which one you are saying was unsourced. Could you please clarify?

Department of Library and Information Science, University of Delhi edit by IndianSubmarine

Hello, so I received a message that you removed my edit about the faculty section on that article. I am a postgrad student at the same department and I gave the most appropriate source possible, the official faculty page on the website. Please undo the removal as it is part of my assessment.[1]

Taurus (Marvel Comics)

I'm sorry...I'm new to this, I have to make a correction. The episode is 10, and its titled, "Nelson v Murdock". I want to add it to the "Other media" on this page, because of the reference made in Marvel's Daredevil on Netflix.

Netflix is the source material. Its made in Season 1, episode 10: "Nelson v Murdock", at the 49:34 min mark. Pi=1920 (talk) 03:14, 9 July 2021 (UTC)

First Basemen

I'm an expert on the matter (longtime player/coach, analyst, and first baseman myself) and am not sure that any source would print something so advanced to an outsider but simple to baseball players. If it has to be cut, fine, but I can assure you the article is better for having it.

Reverting something that should not be.

Hello. I recently made a few grammatical errors on The Human Abstract (band), namely removing unnecessary/wrong quotation marks and fixing some capitalization, yet you labeled it as a test. I don't know why you think I would test by randomly editing an article. The errors, to me, were needed as they were definitely not grammatically correct. What's the deal? I understand your hatred for vandalism, but that wasn't vandalism

Fawlty Towers audio releases

You have reverted a change I made to this page describing the additional audio releases of Fawlty Towers. These additional releases exists and are well-documented - I included a link to the relevant page on Discogs, and now a bot seems to be objecting to the reference and has reverted the change again. The information I have added is an important correction - as you seem to have removed it without a reference, and a bot is removing it with one, perhaps you can suggest how I can actually get this information added to the page without having it immediately removed? (talk) 09:17, 11 July 2021 (UTC)

Lifeforce (film)

The cast list for Lifeforce (film) is incomplete. I added a more to it, all taken from IMDb and you have described it as a test. I do not NEED to do this but the information for this film would be better served with my additions. See https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089489/reference if you, or someone else, wants to do it.

Professional degree

Thanks for your message. You are totally right I didn't provide any real source for the "equivalence" between Latin American professional degrees and US/Europe. This actually comes from first hand experience, and is not really so straight forward to find a plain reference for something like this; governments and institutions, understandbly so, prefer to evaluate degrees on a case by case basis. Maybe the best comparison would be the Anabin database from the German government (https://anabin.kmk.org/no_cache/filter/hochschulabschluesse.html). There it is clear that most Proffesional degrees are classified as A5 for Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, and Panamá, and A4 for Colombia, Brasil, Nicaragua and Bolivia. Maybe you have a better idea on how to integrate this appropriatelly in the article.

Pilonidal disease

I was trying to add some valuable information that helped me personally and that can also be found on some forums. I specifically stated that these 5 rules can help some people. It is hard to find reliable source other than forums for these rules because medical sources only describe surgical procedures. Surgical procedures can ruin people's lives because of big deformations and often do not resolve the issue. My goal here is only to help people so they don't have to meander through dozens of forum websites and thousands of posts on them. These valuable 5 simple rules can save tens of thousands of people from suffering, so removing them from the article is very evil from your side. Found a solid reference (https://www.healthline.com/health/pilonidal-cyst).

How to edit Wikipedia page? BLOXAuthority (talk) 08:52, 12 July 2021 (UTC) Help me with the page you recently reverted that has been edited by me "Alpino"

Too fast

I added one sentence to the article on Kodachrome, stating a fact I know from personal experience in several countries including Canada, the UK, and Australia. I was about to add a message to the article's talk page calling for more detail (and sources) when I saw your message on my talk page. Although Wikipedia encourages the use citations in reliable sources, there is no policy against adding correct information and you have no excuse for reverting the edit less than a minute after it was made: at most you should have tagged it "citation needed", or "dubious" if you imagined I was mistaken.

Now I'm going to unrevert the edit and write the talk page item. Please do not write back to me about this. --174.94.31.124 (talk) 08:24, 13 July 2021 (UTC)

Terry Smith (Football)

Hello, I left a message on that IP talk page just now letting you know I reverted the 16 edits said IP made after you first reverted the article Terry Smith (Football) yesterday. I haven’t done a reversion before, but I thought I should follow your example since I came across the article this morning with a genuine interest in reading it…

Anyways, you may want to keep a close eye on that article, given that the IP has already re-added their unreferenced material at least once. I wouldn’t be surprised if they try again now that I reverted it myself. Goddale120 (talk) 13:10, 13 July 2021 (UTC)

The Williams Brothers

The addition I made in the article concerning Andy Williams' nephews, who recorded as Andy & David Williams, can be corroborated on the website Discogs, a site dedicated to accuratelistings of any and everyone in the recorded medium.

More immediately, I added the sentence about being included in the K-tel compilation album because I purchased, and own the album, some 48 years ago, but the site corroborates the information I provided.

Shuttlecraft (Star Trek)

There may be no citation to the post I made about the real life Space Shuttle never having flown in space, but this is not a contested fact anymore than the Earth was round. The Space Shuttle Enterprise was only ever used for approach and landing test as well as static torture tests on the airframe. After the first shuttle loss, plans were made to do so, but it was decided to build new shuttles instead. I did nothing other than reference the fact that the Enterprise never made a space voyage.

I am the person mentioned in revisions, Jamie Bannon. I have been a member of The Regents, originators of “Barbara-Ann”, since 1972. I recently noticed that page, as it was, omitted any mention of the group as it has existed since 1970. I can verify all the revisions to be true and accurate and cannot be challenged. I am one of only three still living members of the core group. I would appreciate having the changes restored. Thanks for your attention. Jameshb914@gmail.com

Starflight

Deleting the edit does not make sense. The section is "Legacy" as in what came from the game. The book I cited is directly set in the game, is officially sanctioned by the game creator, and is meant to be part of the "Starflight universe". The existing external links on that page are linked to game publishers, so linking to a book publisher is absolutely consistent. I am willing to say there may be format issues with my edit, but deleting it wholesale is not consistent with an encyclopedia about "Starflight" when the entry is about a "Starflight book", just as Star Trek and Star Wars wiki pages have mentions of books (although they have a LOT of books that earn their own entry). As an example: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wars where it has a whole section for books. The Starflight book I entered is offered in the same way.

"Cletus Bartholomew" vandalism

Hi Rdp060707! It's good to see you on the front lines as usual! You keep beating me to reverts! Stop it! :-) I've been noticing an uptick in vandalism where editors either add or replace content with "Cletus Bartholomew" (example). Do you know what the meme, joke, or origin is behind this? I want to make a page that talks about Wikipedia and how do I do that? Here’s what me was going to put for right now and me isn’t done yet. Overall, Wikipedia's accuracy rate was 80 percent compared with 95 through 96 percent accuracy within the other sources and Wikipedia has been dying for at least 100 years ago. The big pro is that there is likely to be an entry for what ever it is you're searching for and the big con is that the information on that page might not be accurate. Like all sources of information (and particularly those on the web) you have to treat it with a healthy dose of skepticism. Anyone can create, edit, or delete Wikipedia articles and Wikipedia articles cannot be considered scholarly, because we know nothing about the contributors. Articles are works in progress, meaning changes are constantly occuring to the information. Wikipedia is not a reliable source for citations elsewhere on Wikipedia because it can be edited by anyone at any time, any information it contains at a particular time could be vandalism, a work in progress, or just plain wrong and Wikipedia generally uses reliable secondary sources, which vet data from primary sources. Wikipedia gets most of its money through donations, while it does also sells goods on the Wikipedia store and given Wikipedia's status as part of the Wikimedia Foundation, a non profit, it makes money in a much different way than other major websites. Wikipedia offers a large volume of information, but because its entries are created in a collaborative effort involving many different users, its reliability can vary widely and in some cases, users deliberately place incorrect information on the site; in others, well meaning users unintentionally introduce inaccuracies. When Wikipedia first became mainstream it was deemed to be less than accurate and teachers recommended that students not use it because it ran the risk of misinforming students; worse than uninformed students. The English version of the Wikipedia website will be shut down for 24 hours in protest at new laws being proposed in America to stop online piracy, both the Senate and the House of Representatives are considering bills that would allow the US authorities to seek to block sites that allow illegal file sharing. Unfortunately, popularity does not give you money, advertisements do and while you must have scrolled excellently through the page, few notice that Wikipedia does not show advertisements. The site is a non profit/it's the mission, as per its founders, is to ensure that everyone can share and access free information. No, Wikipedia is not shutting down in 2020, the advantages are: finding information in a concise, easy way; finding references on the bottom of the page of the document linked to Wikipedia; learning and finding new things never heard of before. The pros/cons of something are its advantages and disadvantages, which you consider carefully, so that you can make a sensible decision. The answer from Wikipedia is clear: at least in research projects, “you probably shouldn't be citing Wikipedia”, well, Wikipedia, like other encyclopedias and handbooks, is a tertiary source. Tertiary sources are those that take their information from other primary and secondary sources. Photographs are a glaring flaw in the Wikipedia model, unlike the articles on the site, which in theory are improved, fact checked, footnoted and generally enhanced over time, photographs are static works created by individuals. A bad article can become a better article and Wikipedia is a top search on many major search engines. Here area a few tips to fix issues when Wikipedia is slow, make sure your internet connection is fast enough, delete your cookies, temporary internet files and disable your browser plugins. The online encyclopedia does not consider itself to be a reliable source and discourages readers from using it in academic or research settings. Researchers, teachers, journalists, and public officials do not regard Wikipedia as a reliable source. In almost all cases, Wikipedia was more left leaning than Britannica and in other words, for articles of the same length, Wikipedia is as middle of the road as Britannica. “If you read 100 words of a Wikipedia article, and 100 words of a Britannica article, you will find no significant difference in bias," says Zhu. Unlike paper encyclopedias which can only display a single version of an article, Wikipedia tracks every edit to every page, because the most accurate/complete version of an article is always stored and readily accessible, bad edits (whether blatant vandalism or good faith errors) can be quickly reverted. Wikipedia's administrators protect some pages from direct editing if they believe they are regularly subjected to vandalism/the addition of abusive language or falsehoods, Wikipedia is by far the world's largest encyclopedia; it is the largest, most comprehensive, and most accessible compilation of knowledge to exist in the history of the human race. Wikipedia is not paper and that is a good thing because articles are not strictly limited in size as they are with paper encyclopedias. Users must also be at least 18 years old and have signed the Wikimedia Foundation's confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information. As CheckUsers have access to deleted revisions, they are also required to have passed an RfA or RfA identical process first, Wikipedia began with its first edit on 15 January 2001, two days after the domain was registered by Jimmy Wales and Larry Sanger. Initially, Wikipedia was intended to complement Nupedia, an online encyclopedia project edited solely by experts, by providing additional draft articles and ideas for it. Mumtaz Khan Akbar

How can we prevent the namesake of the page continually editing the page with incorrect data, 2 years ago i added the information regarding his disqualification as a company director, he then later removed my new section, the article also states he is owner of several companies, this cannot be true; he is banned by law from participating in any company for 10 years, therefore he cannot be the owner by law, court records and british public company records confirm he is banned and stating he is an owner is a misrepresentation of the truth, he is simply 'the face' of the company.

Editors lock on the section?

Can you help?

Thank you for your message about the talk page on Richard_Cheese.

I just started using Wikipedia, I have no computer expertise, this is all new to me.

The editor Yappy2behere is making a bunch of edits on the Richard_Cheese page, and it seems to me that he is being destructive. He is deleting information without first doing the most rudimentary checks for verification. He is making rude comments in his edits. He is making subjective statements and assumptions without providing any documentation; these negative insinuations are unsubstantiated and inappropriate. I don't understand how this is allowed on Wikipedia.

I tried to edit his comment, but it wouldn't save.

So now he is going around to all of the other pages I edited and undoing everything I did, without verifying anything. He seems like a stalker to me.

I looked at his talk page, and he seems to be hostile to everyone. Dozens of people have complained about him. He seems aggressive and mean, and I really don't want to get into a war with an online psycho.

Do you think there is a way to report this guy and stop him from doing further damage? Do you know how to block him from making edits?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks. L.

How is a link of an school inappropriate? The link http://aees.gov.in/ which you termed inappropriate is a 'link of an educational autonomous society' AEES which includes 20 central government schools in India. You have made an error in naming Conor Murray as a captain of the 2021 British & Irish Lions.

This is an error because he has not captained the team in a full test match.

Until he - or anyone other than Alun Wyn Jones - does, you should not record him as ‘captain’.

Please amend our error.

HVAC Induced Infrasound Sickness

A new theory about the causes of Havana Syndrome among employees of US embassies, makes a direct accusation against the US government that it is trying to cover up Occupational hazard associated with Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning which is installed in US embassies.

"US HAVC system, CAN NOT maintain a stable indoor air pressure, instead, it creates rapidly pulsating air pressure variations, which are usually in the infrasound range, a frequency below the lower limit of human audibility (generally under 20 Hz).""

Why you delete it?! Source is Reddit. https://www.reddit.com/r/HavanaSyndrome/comments/op8n6j/the_truth_about_havana_syndrome_or_how_us/ . This is a theory, like all others, and if you ask me even more plausible than the others. Restore it to Havana Syndrome main page. It is foolish for someone to give the source itself and you wait for the yellow media to start spreading it first.

Saber Rider The Game

You have deleted information which I have posted.

I clarified that the developer didn't respond to the Fans who backed the Game on Kickstarter, since early 2018.

What was the purpose of INSTANTLY deleting my change in the article? It was the truth and not meant to offend anyone. People want to know what happened to the game and the team behind it. I know you have to deal with a lot of nonsense, but please this deletion of my addition to the article was really not necessary.

Execration texts

Hello, please respond to this on my own talk page. My edit to the execration texts page was a mention of how execration plays a vital role in The Kane Chronicles which is a book series. I mentioned the series it's from in the paragraph. How do I better cite that??? Its not like it comes from some article or something, it's just a simple fact of the book series plot.--32.214.191.156 (talk) 14:24, 23 July 2021 (UTC)

Hi Re your message that you removed my edit in the article Pre-Māori settlement of New Zealand theories, on the grounds that I did not include my source. The source is actually myself, as this is my own original work. I did publish this in a Facebook group however. Should I post the URL to that post as my source?

Also, do I have to re-submit my edit, or can you direct me to where I can just add in the source? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Deorodawn (talkcontribs) 07:15, 25 July 2021 (UTC)

insta-reverting

Hi, I've attempted to improve the "doomsday plane" article. the article introduction refers to both USA and Russia having such planes. But the "About the planes" section is written from a USA perspective - I have to click on the Air force link to find out which air force refuses to acknowledge they exist - when I attempted to add "United States" your insta-revert assumed bad faith.

Also the link in references http://www.stratcom.mil/Media/Factsheets/Factsheet-View/Article/988611/national-airborne-operations-center-naoc/ shows an effective dead link - it's an empty place-holder type page and should be removed. 84.13.44.96 (talk) 09:50, 27 July 2021 (UTC)

@84.13.44.96: See them: diff and diff. You added the name "United States" before the name "United States Air Force", which it is wrong as the name was already mentioned on the name of an air force.----Rdp060707|talk 10:03, 27 July 2021 (UTC)

No, I didn't the article text says "air force" not "United States Airforce" (precisely " The planes, while not technically secret, are rarely mentioned; the Air Force, for example, " ) and as I clearly stated above one must follow the link the determine which air force. Please make the amendment I have attempted to make and amend the behavior so bad faith is not assumed in future. 84.13.44.96 (talk) 20:29, 27 July 2021 (UTC)

@84.13.44.96: Oops, I noticed a pipe before the "Air Force". Apologies for that; I will undo my revision. Thanks for letting me know.----Rdp060707|talk 04:02, 28 July 2021 (UTC)

Why did you remove my edits on River Valley High School attack?

Roger Conant

Hello, The story is from oral histories from descendants within Salem. Phillip Hal Brown and Tina Moccia are two sources who descended from Conant. The visual proof can be had just by looking at the statue. Also, there were stories of the statue being shot several times before its restoration. The bullet holes could have been the result of plugs popping out that covered holes into which rods were placed during its creation. Is there any reason you have not answered yet?

Maitreya article: Not sure where I am supposed to leave the message about you removing my "speculation" added to the other, non-cited "Speculations" in the "Speculation" category while requiring only me to do so...but I did cite three Wikipedia article because that is where I obtained my "speculation" sources. Is that not sufficient? You ask for politeness here, yet had zero trouble instantly wiping out @ 40 minutes of a very sound, well-sourced "speculation." Is that not rude? Well? Where did you go? You instantly censored me, you were watching me write it...and now you are too chicken to show up. Thanks for the motivation: I will publish all the edits you censors have removed, I saved them all before you could wipe them out.

Reason for reverting Sarpatta Parambarai edits

Hello @Rdp060707, Could you please let me know which section of the manual of style is not adhered in my edits It is a long manual. Basically I have added a person's name in bracket. --Oldman8899 (talk) 10:40, 29 July 2021 (UTC)Sir, I'm a new user (contributor) of Wikipedia, having activated my membership on Wikipedia only a few moments back. There certainly are two world famous personalities by the same name - 'Paige Parker'. One is a famous softball player identified as "Paige Parker (Softball)" by Wikipedia and the second simply as "Paige Parker". Incidentally, the Wikipedia's page on "Paige Parker" talks about "Paige Parker (Softball)". To correct this mismatch, I joined in as a Contributor to edit. Paige Parker - wife of Jim Rogers and Guinness World Record holder for travelling - couldn't be born in 1995 to get married in 2000 after getting engaged in 1996!!!
