Article progress and questions[edit]

Hi McDoob,

My apologies for the delay in response, believe it or not I've been moving, Yes, I moved.. and what's more, I moved all my earthly belongings SMACK DAB in the middle of the blizzard... how's that for gilding the Lilly???? As a matter of fact, between treks, I had to go out and carve my path in the streets to keep the snow from building up too quickly, as it was pretty fast moving, and fast rising...

The Landlord was selling the apt, so myself and my 2 other roomies have had to vacate, luckily I found a place literally across the street, so it made trudging through 2 feet of snow seem like small potatoes for the good fortune of finding a new home so close...

Wow you've really made some amazing headway with getting the piece properly compartmentalized. Thank you so much for the time you've put towards this... It looks great, and am happy to have your changes published if you think this new revamped version will qualify.

Question, once it's up, will it be okay for me to edit as needed? Or will someone else need to do it?

Again, thank you... and Happy New Year! At some point, I'm going to hopefully be able to actually add my own Wiki listing, (although I know I won't be able to do it myself) but figured this initial addition would be the better choice first, you know actually get content I'm involved with, before up and trying to get myself in here. I also worked for over 3 years as UPM on 'Broadway: The Golden Age' which is listed here also, I figured once I can get my own listing here, perhaps I can expand on 'BGA's' other crew, and the other notables involved also. Anyway, that's for a later day...

Thank you again sincerely McDoob, let me know what's next in the process, Is there anything else you need from me before we proceed?

Glad you survived the move intact. :) Let me see if I can answer your questions and comments.
First, if/when the article is added (and I believe there are sufficient arguments to be made for its notability and inclusion), in my opinion you will be able to edit it, but you must be very careful. Edits you make cannot be construed as altering the article's neutral point-of-view or making it an advertisement for the piece. It probably would be better to propose edits on the talk page, or maybe hand it off to the appropriate WikiProject for assistance.
As to your own article, that's a very delicate subject. Articles about living persons are subjected to a lot more scrutiny than other articles, from what I've seen, and producing an article about yourself is practically verboten (something you already appear to understand). For a person to have a Wikipedia article, there must be sufficient third-party information about that person to point to that person's notability. I've worked on enough film articles here (usually Disney ones, but also others) to have determined that IMDb is not a good enough source to indicate notability. And again, such an article cannot even contain a hint of promotion (see WP:ADVERT).

Hi again, Yes I figured as much, (about adding myself) which is another reason I wouldn't even consider doing it myself as I know it will get automatically removed. Maybe at some point down the line, we can work together on that when I have enough notable references. At present, (when/if this Saturday Nightmares piece goes up) I will have that connection, (a UPM production credit on Broadway: The Golden Age's Wiki page, which I'd like to add also) and I also had a reading of my 1st play, 'Erzsebet' in 2004, based on the legendary, notorious Hungarian Countess Erzsebet Bathory. I am noted in an 'Erzsebet in popular culture' page here also. But enough about me, am looking forward to whatever steps you think are necessary to get this Saturday Nightmares piece up and running. If possible, I'd enjoy including our official poster as well, if you don't mind maybe you'll consider adding that as well. Here is a web-link to the poster, (https://docs.google.com/document/pub?id=1emrCixLsCANXLeo6vxHfMAN4OH7AuA0CpfRxoeoPPRc&pli=1) Look Thanks again for the correspondence, and my undying gratitude for all your input, and advise. Happy New Year!

The movie poster or DVD cover would be good for an infobox for the article. Typically, a low-res JPG image can be used along with a fair-use claim on the image; I've had experience with that, so I will be able to help. Take a look at WP:FAIRUSE to see what the criteria are and the rationale for them are. --McDoobAU93 19:19, 2 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi McDoob! Wow, you've put quite a bit of text back into the body of the main synopsis! That looks great! Hey I wasn't sure if I sent you this, I don't think I have yet, but we just got a front page write-up in The Jersey Journal about the film too, perhaps a link to that too would be okay for Wiki. If there are any problems, let me know. I've scanned the actual paper, and have links to it in my photo gallery. Other than that, am again so appreciative of your help and wonderful counsel. Am hopeful we can make this puppy live soon, Cheers, MichaelMichaellee4 (talk) 20:18, 25 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again,

So I went into 'edit' for the 'References' section, (with the intent to add a couple links to the Jersey Journal feature I told you about, and all I saw was this. ==References==

I am not sure if I've missed something with continuing to edit, etc.. or maybe it's presently at a phase where only you can edit it. Not sure on this end, fill me in if you have a sec. Till then, Here are hyper links to the cover page of the article, and the actual article itself which is a more readable. Enjoy, and hope you're keeping busy!
