List of people by name: Bm-Bn[edit]

Hi, and thanks for taking an interest in the housekeeping needs of the project. (If your interest in that holds up, just bear in mind that "no good deed goes unpunished", and you're likely to eventually get nominated as admin, handed a broom, and urged to keep sweeping without limit <wink>.)

I'm guessing virtually any admin cruising Category:Candidates for speedy deletion and finding your speedy nom of List of people by name: Bm-Bn would have removed the tag as i did, even if they were unaware of Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/List of people by name: Db-Dd. The page is almost free of content, but that just highlights how much context it has: those 43 lks are practically pure context, a network of relationships to other material in WP. Granted, that is not sufficient to rule out an AfD debate -- on other grounds -- but the Template:Empty tag is clearly not meant for pages such as these. (They are, BTW preparations against mystification of users (new or simply not familiar with the esoteric steps involved in setting up a new LoPbN page) who probably will never come along wanting to add a "Bm..." or "Bn..." name, but may; i recommend to you a caution that may not be obvious about what are possible combinations of Latin letters. I eptiomize that caution for myself by reflecting on the possibility, once (say at age 4 or 5), of astonishment, at anyone want to be called "Smith" or "Patel", on the part of the remarkable president of South Africa -- astonishment as great as i once felt at names beginning Mb... or Bm....

That said, i'm not concerned; this is a place that invites mistakes, and counts on lots of eyes to clean up them up. And it's a rare editor who doesn't learn from experiences like this.

I hope you'll continue to find it worth your while to pay attention to the kind of problems your user page mentions. Thanks again.

Your nn-bio on SpellBound (spell checker)[edit]

I don't see how that SpellBound (spell checker) is a nn-nio, or deletable in any case so I have removed the tag as it's not a speedy. If you think there is hope for it, please place it in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. Thanks --Jaranda wat's sup 20:30, 20 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

CSD A7 only covers individuals or groups, not other categories.[edit]

I've noticed you have placed speedy deletion tags citing A7 (non-notable individuals or groups) on articles that are not about individuals or groups of people, for example businesses. A7 explicitly does not cover these; it is not license to delete anything considered non-notable. Please read WP:CSD more carefully. To clarify, I don't see the articles you have tagged as being worth saving; they are simply not speedy deletion candidates under A7 as it currently stands. —Matthew Brown (T:C) 01:09, 21 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see how this article deserves a "nn-bio" tag. Please see Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion before you tag a page in the future. I have replaced the nn-bio with an afd tag and I would like it if you took the time to vote to delete, keep, or merge the article in question. Crime analysis[edit]

I just expanded the article to point out a common misconception of crime analysis. Crime analysts do not go to crime scenes or do forensic analysis. Rather the job is more of a statistician, researcher, geographer, ... [1] [2]. Thanks. --Kmf164 16:36, 21 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Kevin Black[edit]

Kevin Black, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that Kevin Black satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kevin Black and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Kevin Black during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
