A tag has been placed on Centre For Biodiversity and Conservation, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Centre For Biodiversity and Conservation and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Ibluffsocall (talk) 02:22, 11 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a search with the contents of Dr. G. Raza Bhatti, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: . It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Dr.G.Raza Bhatti.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Dr.G.Raza Bhatti.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 17:01, 26 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Dr.G.Raza Bhatti.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only," "non-derivative use" or "used with permission," it has not been shown to comply with the limited standards for the use of non-free content. [1], and it was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19, or is not used in any articles. If you agree with the deletion, there is no need to do anything. If, however, you believe that this image may be retained on Wikipedia under one of the permitted conditions then:

  • state clearly the source of the image. If it has been copied from elsewhere on the web you should provide links to: the image itself, the page which uses it and the page which contains the license conditions.
  • add the relevant copyright tag.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". File permission problem with File:SALU Official Logo.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:SALU Official Logo.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. Please consider becoming a member of Wikipedia:WikiProject Sindh, a project focusing on improving the coverage of all Sindh related articles on Wikipedia. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Park requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Request reason:

I am really sorry for this act and I assure you for not repeating it. I have contributed on many subjects primarily on Sindh region and biodiversity organizations of Pakistan. I do admit that I did blunder by not following (unitentional) Copyright Policy on Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Park article, because I am also the administrator of these website (www.salu.edu.pk and www.cbc-salu.org). Thus, copied the same material from the sources in the wikipedia. I kindly request not to block my other contribution or articles. Thanks Khalilrazab (talk) 16:01, 28 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Copyright violations have not been the only problems with your edits. Just looking above on your talk page, I also see a large number of warnings for writing inappropriate articles, including promotional ones. Wikipedia is not a billboard, and we do not accept copyrighted material. I don't see any indication in your block reason how you intend to edit constructively if you were to be unblocked. Notes to reviewing administrator:

  • I have no confidence that this user is able or willing to read and understand our copyright policies given how often he was warned, that he made no response, and that his contributions changed in no way.
  • It took me more than an hour and a half to clean up the scope of these copyright violations, even given that I eventually had to resort to Special:Nuke.
  • Reviewing deleted contributions, this user absolutely has a conflict of interest in his scope of editing. The single purpose of his contributions has been to promote the Centre for Diversity and Conservation at the Shah Abdul Latif University and the founder of that centre/a professor at that University. — madman 17:58, 28 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure from what you say if you were copying from those websites or their sources to here, or copying from here to the websites. Also, why did you go on after being warned? Peridon (talk) 18:24, 28 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I think he's saying he referenced the sources in the article, which as I recall he did. (It's still obviously a copyright violation, though.) — madman 20:28, 28 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Dear madman, I am not contributing only to Biodiversity Center and that Professor. Moreover, I have edited Khairpur District, Nafeesa Shah, Sohrab Faqeer, Herbarium and Botanical Garden and Shah Abdul Latif University as well. I have been referencing those articles. I had been logged out of wikipedia for a long time and that is why could not respond to block warnings earlier. Thanks.

In my judgment, all of your contributions to those articles were solely to promote those two subjects. However, it's not up to me anymore; please wait for another administrator to review your unblock request, as I may not be able to keep watching this page and following up with you. 2. Point out 5 edits you made that you consider good edits. Martijn Hoekstra (talk) 14:05, 8 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Martijn Hoekstra, Thank you for your review. Since I am from Khairpur District, Pakistan which is rich in historical sites and heritage as it was a princely state earlier. There are centuries long Forts and Palaces like Faiz Mahal that needed to be contributed to Wikipedia. Furthermore, I would be making edits to Asia's largest Private Wildlife Refuge that is Mehrano, owned by a prince of Khairpur - Link: [Mehrano]. I will be contributing further to articles like Muhammad Hussain Panhwar 1995-2007; he was a prominent Agriculture Engineer, revived the agricultural practices of Sindh and Balochistan and has authored about 10 books. I would further edit the articles like Sohrab Fakir, Sachal Sarmast, Nafisa Shah, Shah Abdul Latif University, which are still in the category of stubs.

5 good edits that I made as follows:

Few things that I want to notify that, people of Khairpur or Sindh Province are not much into Wikipedia therefore, we do not have high participation that could contribute to notable topics that i have already discussed. So, my prime objective is to contribute constructively as per my capacity. I assure you again if I am unblocked, I would contribute positively. Thanks again for your review.

Request reason:

Dear Administrators, I have now gone through Copyright Policy and Rules by Wikipedia thoroughly that I did not read earlier and resulted into copyright violation and my account blockage. I am now determined not to violate or bypass any rule or law by Wikipedia. I further assure you that I will edit constructively on notable and acceptable subjects only and refrain from promotional activity. Thank You Khalilrazab (talk) 21:45, 7 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

I've looked over the articles you say you would like to be editing, and the articles that you say have good edits.

On your edits to Shah Abdul Latif University: Since you didn't link a specific edit, I can only comment on the general changes. Looking over them, you added quite a bit of material, almost all of which was either overly detailed, or promotional. None of it is referenced. I can't see these as good edits.

  • Nafisa Shah: Corrected a title here. A tiny edit, but those need to be done too.
  • Sohrab Fakir: On this article, you added an image which you uploaded and tagged as CC-BY-SA 3.0, but has a watermark on it, and there is no indication where it was obtained, but it certainly looks like another copyright violation. I can't see this as a good edit.
  • Khairpur District: Changing the format of a list, linking to Shah Abdul Latif University. Further changing the leadership to District Commissioner Muhammad Abbas Baloch, though http://www.khairpur.gos.pk/dco.asp# lists him as District Coordination Officer. It still looks like the highest occupied office. It looks like the highest office would be Nazim, but it looks like that office in vacant at the moment.
  • Herbarium and Botanical Garden, Shah Abdul Latif University: More large scale unreferenced additions, which I can only hope weren't copied from somewhere, including pictures claimed to be CC-BY-SA 3.0, but seeing your history with copyright, we can't be sure of. Again linking to the biodiversity center.

When I read what you would like to do, it makes total sense. We do need more and better content in those areas, but when I look at what you claim are your bests edits, I can't say I'm over the moon with them. Frankly, it is a mess. Now I understand you are a new editor, and getting started on Wikipedia is far more complicated then we like to present or to believe. Still I don't think that, with the edits you have shown, future edits will be good.

So even through I believe in your best intentions, and that you have a lot of specific knowledge about the area, I can't say that I believe at this point, that unblocking you will be a net positive to Wikipedia. I wish I had something more, or something else to offer at the moment, but all I have to present is the standard offer. Martijn Hoekstra (talk) 19:25, 8 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Martijn Hoekstra, Thanks for the review. Yes, I am really a beginner in Wikipedia and I started my first article in Last January probably on a Botanical Garden. Therefore, keeping this short span, I may not be expected to be a great contributor to Wikipedia. Unfortunately, these edits weren't best but only edits on Wikipedia. I would really love to know about how can I start working on you offer standard offer. Thanks Khalil Raza

Request reason:

Dear Administrators, Could you please set any expiry time on my blockage. I have been previously offered an standard offer by Martijn Hoekstra. But I really don't know to start with that offer. Thanks Khalilrazab (talk) 21:38, 13 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

This is and remains an indefinite block. Standard Offer says you go away from en.Wikipedia for a minimum of 6 months. You should edit at any other Wikimedia Foundation project (Simple Wikipedia, another language Wikipedia, etc). Return in 6 months, ask for an unblock, and give proof of the positive work elsewhere. If we agree, the block may be lifted. If not, the block will remain (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 02:05, 14 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant!
