Katsuya Jonouchi[edit]

Did you see the message Geg left you in the revert of the article?

If not, I will explain. The original Yu-Gi-Oh! comic book has been translated into English. The English-language versions in the USA, Canada, and the UK do not refer to the guy as "Joey". They call him by his Japanese name, Jonouchi. WhisperToMe 03:14, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Voice actor agents[edit]

No, I haven't met him. Don't think I've gotten the chance to meet any voice actors at this point, unfortunately. I added in some agent information on a few of your infoboxes from checking voicebank.net. It seems like quite a few VA's in Naruto are represented by Arlene Thornton or ICM so mainly was clearing through who they had listed. Now that I noticed ICM has a Wikipedia entry, I probably should have linked to that instead... --EmperorBrandon 23:35, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

An image that you uploaded, Image:Eric_Vale.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Copyright problems because it is a suspected copyright violation. Doug Stone (voice actor)[edit]

Hi there, Jack,

I noticed you changed voice actor Doug Stone's stats, and I'm pretty sure your info is correct. I searched for info about this guy all over the internet, but everywhere I look, I see the country singer's stats. For example http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0422849/

So my question is, where did you ever get the right info? Caudex Rax 00:20, 19 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

katharine harris[edit]

Hi. I reverted your edits to the katharine Harris page. The source you gave linked not to her quotes, but to the article about her losing a key staffer. Please find the correct cite and then re-add the info. (I didn't do it myself because I'm sure you're more familiar with finding the article at the Sentinel's site, among other reasons.) Thanks. Please do not add conventions that do not have articles or whose attendance can not be verified as over 2,000. If the convention doesn't release their attendance figures or does not reporting it to a website, such as AnimeCons.com, then that is their problem. But the list must be based on verified information and we can't make assumptions about a convention's attendance, which is delving into original research. --TheFarix (Talk) 17:18, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:Dave Mallow.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Dave Mallow.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}. If you have not already done so, please also include the source of the image. In many cases this will be the website where you found it.

Please specify the copyright information and source on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Gay Cdn (talk) (email) (Contr.) 14:02, 22 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Maw, George Dewey Clyde, Calvin L. Rampton and Scott M. Matheson. I'm blocking your account for six months. {{unblock|Hello Gentlemen, first of all let me please say that I honestly believe I do not deserved to be blocked, let me give you a few reasons why. First of all I believe on almost all those pages except Charlie Wyse I had put a link to the page where I found the info from, Perhaps I did not put it under references, I can assure you this was an honest mistake and I had no intention of plagiarising I was trying to prove where I got the info from, If I put it in the wrong words I did not mean it. I am sorry if this was a misunderstanding, I have contributed alot to wikipedia and I enjoy doing this as a hobby, if I made a mistake by plagiarising I apologize and will be careful not to lift entire passages again. I would just like to have the chance to edit again.}}

I've unblocked you as you requested in IRC, but please be familiar with Wikipedia:Copyvio and do not copy and paste from other pages in the future. Even though you linked the sources, direct copies of information is indeed copyvio. Also, as is evident from the multiple occurrences of Orphanbot coming here, please try to be more careful with images you upload. I'm not quite sure what the issue is with each individual image, but it is important that items that are copyrighted are properly labeled as such. Cowman109Talk 00:24, 29 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Good luck, Jack. Haukur 00:34, 29 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It still looks to me like you don't even understand what you did wrong. Copying whole biographies of people from outside websites, as you have been doing for a long time, is completely inappropriate and it doesn't matter whether you put a link to the site in an 'external links' section or in a 'references' section or in footnotes. And you've got to be careful with images too, making sure you provide the sources of images and the right licence or fair use claim as appropriate. Saying "Your Bot sucks huge cock"[2] when problems are pointed out to you is not the way to go. Haukur 00:17, 29 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Sesshomaru2.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Sesshomaru2.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Image:Wally Wingert.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Wally Wingert.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Nv8200p talk 03:30, 25 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No[edit]

I don't enjoy pissing people off, but neither will I stop doing what I feel is right for Wikipedia just because it upsets some people. You shouldn't get so angry; in the final analysis, it's only a web site. —Chowbok 03:41, 25 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Chowbok RfC[edit]

I have begun RfC procedures for User:Chowbok. Since you've had previous disputes with him about image uploads, maybe you'd like to add your commentary? [3] TheQuandry 03:51, 26 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Template Inspiration[edit]

I loved your templates so much, I took 'em, tweaked 'em, and want you to check 'em out!  :) I used one of your governor templates as the basis for: {{Template:Moonwalkers}}, which looks like this:

Template:Moonwalkers

... and similarly, there is a List of Moonwalkers, based on one of your lists. THANK YOU for the inspiration! Any ideas on how to polish these up would be most, most appreciated.

Thanks... Jenolen 10:05, 26 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

MP infoboxes.[edit]

Hi, great work on the infoboxes. However, I must ask that you use the persons full name on the infobox, and refrain from removing them. Thanks. -- Earl Andrew - talk 05:36, 28 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'd certainly have no objection to that. However, keep in mind some MPs have a lot of shadow cabinet positions, especially in the NDP. -- Earl Andrew - talk 06:05, 28 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You do realize all those photos were recently culled by the anti-fair use people? (unless there has been a change of heart). I tried to fight that battle, but alas they have the support of Jimmy Wales. But anyways, I applaud your efforts, but they may be all for not. We may have to resort to emailing all of the MPs requesting permission to use their photos. (Well, I do know the photos of Mauril Belanger and Peter Julian are public domain because I took them-- and I know User:Montréalais took a few photos of NDPers at the last convention which are public domain as well. Maybe you know some Liberal MPs and can take their pictures? -- Earl Andrew - talk 06:13, 28 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Are you planning to move the page back? Was there a discussion about the change because I personally disagree that the two concepts are equivalent enough to be synonyms. Ansell 08:08, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

Image violations[edit]

You have been blocked for one week for continuing to upload images without providing the mandatory information. Fair-use images must have a detailed hand-written fair-use rationale. Additionally, fair-use images may not be used to depict living people. Please see WP:FU. You are welcome to resume editing once the block has expired but please refrain from uploading any more images until you have gone back and provided the mandatory information to the images you have already uploaded. Thanks. --Yamla 18:46, 7 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

User is acting in good faith and has made many productive edits. Continued violation of image copyright and fair-use is a serious issue but willing to unblock in the hope these will be resolved. --Yamla 23:00, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Request handled by: Yamla 23:00, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Have you been warned about this before? Specifically have you received a warning informing you that if you dont do this you will be blocked.  Glen  20:10, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
To answer your question I have never been warned about this sort of behaviour by any op. I was blocked without any warning.--Jack Cox 20:11, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Wait... what??? Are you seriously trying to tell me you have never received a warning about your violations of Wikipedia image copyright and fair-use policies? There are more warnings than I can count on this very page! --Yamla 21:40, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I don't consider those warnings those are not my definition of warnings, what they are is alerts to tell me that an image has a problem with it that to me sir is not a warning and the fact you treat it like a warning disturbs me. First of all, I was never warned that I would be banned because my images have copyright problems. You mistakenly banned me once and again you ban me here, personally I find it rediculous that you'd ban somebody Who is one of the most contributing Users on this website and someone who has done alot to make this encyclopedia better. I look at the people who have been banned and almost everyone who has been banned have been banned because of Vandalism on Wikipedia. Why should you ban somebody who actually tries to improve this website. I feel you are retaliating against me because I spoke out against User:Chowbok and his abuse of the RFH.--Jack Cox 21:56, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You are not banned, you are temporarily blocked. And I am sorry that the multiple warnings on this page do not fit your definition of "warning", but that is what they are there for. It is entirely reasonable to block someone who continues to violate Wikipedia policies after having been warned about those specific policies. Your block had absolutely nothing to do with Chowbok and to be honest, I'm not sure what specific incident you are referring to. I'm not claiming we never had any interactions regarding Chowbok, but I cannot recall what they were. This probably more closely reflects my bad memory and the number of edits I make (on average, more than 100 a day), however, and should not be taken to imply that your claim was made in bad faith. --Yamla 22:58, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unblocked[edit]

I have lifted your block. If you are still blocked, this is now an autoblock; please let us know if this is the case. I lifted the block due to the large number of productive edits you have contributed. Please be assured, however, that the notices about image copyright and fair-use violations are considered warnings and if you continue uploading images without the mandatory information, or in violation of WP:FU, you may be blocked again. If you are unsure, please ask before uploading the image. To be clear, I am extending you the benefit of the doubt because it is clear that you are someone who has done a lot to make the encyclopedia better. However, you also have numerous violations of fair-use policies. I also feel that while a 48 hour block would have been perfectly appropriate, the one-week block is a little harder to justify in this case. --Yamla 23:05, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

STOP[edit]

Please stop! You uploaded Image:Sandy Fox.jpg today after being unblocked. This is totally unacceptable. As you have been told already, we may only use freely-licensed images to depict living people. This is not a freely-licensed image but is being used to depict a living person. Now, I unblocked you in the good faith assumption that you would cease your image fair-use violations. If you have no intention of stopping uploading images in violation of WP:FU, please let me know. Otherwise, you must stop uploading copyrighted non-freely-licensed images (that is, images not licensed under CC or GFDL, etc.) to be used to depict living people. Almost every action you have taken since the block was lifted was in further violation of Wikipedia policy. Once again, only freely-licensed images may be used to depict living people. --Yamla 05:49, 12 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Additionally, fair-use rationales must be specific to an individual article on the Wikipedia and must list that article specifically. --Yamla 05:51, 12 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Image:Sandy Fox.jpg was already deleted once, as well. So far Jack Cox has re-uploaded at least four previously-deleted fair-use images.—Chowbok 05:54, 12 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

On Image:Spike Spencer.jpg, you claim the image has been released to the public domain. You then claim this is a copyrighted image which is fair-use in an article, directly contradicting your claim that it is a public domain image. In fact, the flickr page explicitly notes that this image is NOT public domain. Additionally, as you are well aware, fair-use images may not be used to depict living people. I must say, I now regret unblocking you. Please refrain from any more actions such as this in the future. If you are in fact confused and not deliberately violating Wikipedia policy, the best option is to simply refrain from uploading any more images given your history. Your actions are specifically putting Wikipedia at risk of a copyright-infringement lawsuit and we cannot allow it to continue. Thanks. --Yamla 05:58, 12 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

First of all I am not deliberately doing this, Im trying to comply with copyright laws but there are so many damn laws that I don't know which ones are right.--Jack Cox 06:25, 12 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image tagging for Image:CSI-222.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:CSI-222.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

Hello Jack, ya gotta explain it to me. When & Why was the transfer of the Premiership of Alberta date, changed from December 15th To December 14th. Not questioning the dates, just wanna know what happend in Edmonton? Why was Stelmach sworn in on the 14th, when he was scheduled to be sworn in on the 15th. Did Klein resign unexpectedly (1 day early)? GoodDay 01:17, 15 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm re-editing the dates, back to December 15th. The external links to the CBC, backs this. Simbolically & Acutally leaving office are seperate things. Klein's resignation as Premier won't take effect until the 15th, then Stelmach will be sworn in by the (in presence of) the Alta Lieutenant Governor. GoodDay 01:25, 15 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'm just trying to find a CBC (ie. National) link, that says Stelmach succeeds Klein as Premier (on the 14th). Can you give me a CBC link, to back this (14th)? GoodDay 01:43, 15 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Nevermind, I've found the CBC external-link backing the 14th. PS-just wanted to let you know, I wasn't disputing you, Just wanted a CBC reliable soure. I'll change the articles back to December 14th. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by GoodDay (talkcontribs) 01:50, 15 December 2006 (UTC).[reply]

Image:Rodger Cuzner.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Rodger Cuzner.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

Orphaned fair use image (Image:AlexAtamanenko.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:AlexAtamanenko.jpg.

Removing RFU tags[edit]

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages, as you did to Image:Pam Hyatt.jpg, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. —Chowbok 03:27, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"Harrassment"[edit]

I'm sorry you feel that way. My goal really isn't to harrass you, but I will continue to insist that you follow Wikipedia policies. You've been told several times that removing RFU tags from images is unacceptable. —Chowbok 03:37, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jack. You're exactly right, it is indeed harassment. Chowbok likes to cite wiki policy where there is none. It's really her modus operandi as a wiki reductionist. For some reason, she seems to believe that fair use promotional photos are not to be allowed on Wikipedia. There's significant disagreement, but nothing is stopping the actions. Many attempts have been made, and nothing is happening. Do you have any ideas? Please see the following informational sources.

I'm not sure what we can do about it. It just seems that the other side of this issue is very dismissive and flies contrary to the way Wikipedia has always worked. If there's disagreement, things have always erred on the side of inclusion in my experience. This is exactly the opposite.--Jeff 03:46, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I realize you disagree with me, but I honestly don't understand why you say things like "you know you are wrong". Where do you get that? I may be wrong, but I certainly don't think I am, much less "know" it. Why would I be doing this otherwise? Please at least try to accept that I am in good faith working towards improving Wikipedia, wrong-headed though you view my work to be. —Chowbok 04:14, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Advise[edit]

Jack Cox, please cool down and do not waste your time talking to the image trolls. Showing them how pissed off you are only pleases them and they will double their effort to further harass your work. Don't give them that pleasure. Instead, cool down and take part in the policy discussions since the very ambiguity of the policies allows such trolling to take place under the pretences that they "enforce" policy. Showing your frustration, however, will not help anything. It's especially important not to resort to anything that can be construed as "incivility" or "threats." Anger will be very counter productive. Best regards, --Irpen 04:16, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wikiproject Promotional Photo Advocacy[edit]

Hi Jack. My frustration level has reached new highs today. I believe we need to organize ourselves to offer a combined front against these people who are deleting promotional photos used under fair use rationale. Please see my newly created (and first) Wikiproject, Wikipedia:WikiProject Promotional Photo Advocacy. The more the merrier.--Jeff 04:21, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:Madaboutyou.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Madaboutyou.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Hello, Jack Cox. Please, take a look at Image:Norb.jpg. You tagged this image as self-created, but I believe it's a movie's screenshot, what means that the movie's copyright holder (and not the person pressing the save-screenshot button) retains the image's copyright.

No more images[edit]

After numerous warnings over the span of months and months, you have been unable to get the hang of Wikipedia image copyright and fair-use policies. Under no circumstances are you to upload any more images. Given the huge number of violations, I believe this is the only option remaining to us without having to ban you from all editing. I am offering this to you as a gesture of good faith because I believe you really are simply unable to understand Wikipedia's policies in this regard. However, your continued violations are putting Wikipedia at direct risk. So, no more uploads. At all. This is the only option I can see which permits you to continue editing the Wikipedia. --Yamla 20:51, 28 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You said: "I get the feeling you have been launching a coordinated attack on users who oppose your interpretation of copyright law, and I have a feeling you've been working in conjunction with Chowbok and conspiring to eliminate everyone who opposes your plan. Again, I consider the Copy Violations to be alerts to fix the copy vio status. The problem is your copyright law is extremely extremely complex and I have read through it several times, for you to ban me from uploading images simply because I miss one or two points is ludicrous, this is the first time I've ever had to do this. But I'm telling you this is really affecting me, I feel like you've done this because you specifically have hate for me and that you never really tried trying to explain the rules to me. I have been a contributing user for a long time and have had my reputation dragged through the mud by people like you and Chowbok and I am getting sick of it. You've turned one of your highest contributing users into someone who feels awful and terrible inside. I would have fixed the copyright problems if you gave me a chance instead you push me into a corner, berate me and threaten me to get me to comply, its sickening."

You said: "Also, I personally think that mass deletion of images is ludicrous there needs to be a cap on how many images you can go after. Look, I have for the most part when Images have been tagged, I have tried to fix them, except when you use RFC which in my opinion is an almost instant delete because I cannot for the life of me try to use any argument to get around with it. I think your being extremely extremely rash and you need to calm down, I can fix problems but don't get antsy and jumpy, I will allow you the permission to delete diddy kiddies because the original source cannot be located and I cannot access it anymore. So go ahead and delete it, I don't care. I admit I am careless at times and I am sorry, you have to understand I have ADHD and sometimes i focus on things to intensly and Im more of a creative person. Just please this is the one thing I devote my life to, to block me from editing photos is like taking away a whole part of my being, I mean this and I am being serious, I really really love contributing to this place and I don't want to be driven away because I've forgotten things. Please for the love of God, don't do this to me."

As far as I am aware, I've never left a comment on Chowbok's page. There's a good possibility that this is not the case, however. The point is that I am not working in concert with Chowbok. Also, it is not my interpretation of copyright law. In fact, copyright law has very little to do with this. Instead, it is Wikipedia's policies, primarily the policy on fair-use. Note that I have, for example, pointed out to you that we cannot use fair-use images (only freely-licensed images) to depict living people. You continue to upload and use fair-use images to depict living people, however. Now, I believe I have extended this offer before but just in case, I will extend it now. If you find an image you want to upload then before uploading it, if you tell me the location of the image, where you plan to use it, how the image is licensed, etc., I can check it out and let you know ahead of time whether it would be appropriate or not. What we cannot allow is for you to continue violating the policies. It was my intention that the ban on you uploading images would allow you to ignore this particularly troublesome (troublesome to everyone) area of Wikipedia and instead concentrate on areas where your contributions are invariably productive. My hope was that you could give up an area of Wikipedia which is causing you and me a great deal of frustration. If you don't want to do this, though, I am happy to work with you before you upload the images and try to point out what's right and what's wrong ahead of time. In case you are not already aware, much less than 1% of the images you find on the Internet are appropriate for use on the Wikipedia. Now, the problem with allowing you to continue uploading images unchanged is that you are putting the Wikipedia directly at risk. It's unlikely, I'll grant, but it is still a distinct possibility that your actions may directly lead to Wikipedia being sued. In summary, if you wish to keep uploading images, please check each individual image with me first. If you can think of another compromise, I'm happy to discuss it. We cannot allow the continued image violations, however. It's not a matter of being mean to you, it's a matter of protecting Wikipedia itself. --Yamla 01:15, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You said: "See the biggest problem with this is that I would like to upload images that I know for certain I will be able to add for example some Voice Actor Clips could be added via www.bangzoomentertainment.com's Adventure in Voice Acting Video Pictures because that is streamed online video and because It is a screenshot of the voice actor in question. I think that you should at least give me permission to upload screenshots from movies."

What makes you think these would be appropriate? They certainly could not be used to show the person in the clip. They could be used with detailed fair-use rationales to provide critical commentary but this is unlikely given that they are voice actor clips. Similar problems exist with screenshots from movies; unless you are using them to provide critical commentary rather than just to provide pictures for an article, their use is in violation of WP:FU. --Yamla 03:46, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey[edit]

By the power vested in me by the lords of Kobol I hereby revoke your "image ban" - on a serious note: you are not banned (see WP:BAN#Decision_to_ban - Yamla's "ban" doesn't meet the Banning policy)

If you'd like to talk you can contact me on MSN Messenger (matthew@[trimmed]) and AIM ([trimmed]) - you make to many valuable contributions to be beaten down because of the fair use police. thanks/Fenton, Matthew Lexic Dark 52278 Alpha 771 03:31, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Untagged image[edit]

An image you uploaded, Image:Ppt-seal.png, was tagged with the {{coatofarms}} copyright tag. This tag was deleted because it does not actually specify the copyright status of the image. The image may need a more accurate copyright tag, or it may need to be deleted. If the image portrays a seal or emblem, it should be tagged as {{seal}}. If you have any questions, ask them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. -- 14:23, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:02matt4.jpg[edit]

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:02matt4.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. When you use a generic fair use tag such as {{fair use}} or {{fair use in|article name}}, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

Thank you. MECUtalk 20:37, 31 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Can I or can I not upload images?[edit]

You said: "Christ I would like to upload some screenshots is that difficult of not, I'm not uploading web photos, I'm uploading screenshots from Shows and from programs. I honestly don't think you should threaten my into doing this. I have the rights as a wikipedia user to upload photos and while I've had some problems this is upsetting me and I ask you to drop this or I will report you."

You can so long as you adhere to Wikipedia image copyright and fair-use policy. I've offered to work with you prior to your uploading an image to see if it is appropriate for use on the Wikipedia. The offer still stands. --Yamla 02:11, 3 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You said: "Are you telling me I have to screen every single thing through you before I upload it, I'm done uploading images from Websites, i would like to upload screenshots from my computer."
What I am telling you is that you must adhere to Wikipedia image copyright and fair-use policies. I am offering to help you out by reviewing images you upload prior to your uploading them to ensure you do not run foul of the policies. You are free to ignore this offer. I will not block you for uploading images which do not violate the policies but Wikipedia must protect itself and we may be forced to block you if you continue violating the policies. This is obviously a last resort but note that you have been blocked by more than one admin in the past for violating these policies. You've already had several second chances (granted, because you clearly mean well). The problem is that your continued violations put Wikipedia directly at risk, let alone the fact that you are continuing to violate policy. So, once again, you are free to upload images provided you adhere to Wikipedia policy. We are willing to help you proactively to ensure you are not violating these policies. But you must adhere to the policies. This is not negotiable. --Yamla 02:22, 3 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Aaron Krohn.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Aaron Krohn.jpg.

Thank you. MECUtalk 03:03, 3 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pelosi as Speaker on Order of Precedence[edit]

Hi!

Enjoyed going through your User page and noticing that you were a supporter of Howard Dean in the 2004 primary! You made a change to the United States order of precedence page that put Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House. I reverted that change back to J. Dennis Hastert. I included my reasons on the Talk page. Just wanted to give you a heads up. If you agree/disagree, I'd love to hear your thoughts. JasonCNJ 08:24, 3 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:AngusKing.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:AngusKing.jpg.

Your opinion is sought about the Frank Caliendo article[edit]

An anonymous editor keeps adding what is in my opinion, extremely trivial information to the Frank Caliendo article. I am soliciting the opinion of other editors who have edited this article about the appropriateness of this "information" to the article. Please review the details at Talk:Frank Caliendo#Consensus about inclusion of specific football predictions and if you desire, add your thoughts to this section. Sorry, I know I know. I'll stop the ANS vandalism. I got a little hyper and just wanted for a tiny tiny second to rebel against the machine. That's enough. But I'm really going to miss those yabbos.--Jack Cox 02:24, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
