Motor racing

You plainly have views on the subject of the varying nomenclature surrounding motorised sports, however as you are in conflict with a number of editors I recommend you put your case forward here; Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Motorsport, and discuss it with involved editors instead of edit warring your version into the pages. Your co-operation is appreciated. --Falcadore (talk) 17:15, 28 October 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for your comments. I don't have "views" on this at all, I just noticed that "motorcar racing" was included as an alternative name, when it is not commonly used. By comparison, "motor racing" is a widely-used term for car racing around the world - a quick Google search would confirm the two terms' respective use. I have not found a single reliable source which states that "motor racing" is used to mean motorcycle racing, truck racing, or lawnmower racing etc. If you know of any such sources, can you point them out? I am not edit warring, and I have no agenda on this at all. There is also no requirement for me to discuss a change and reach consensus before making a change, as you probably know. --hippo43 (talk) 20:18, 28 October 2013 (UTC)
