Notable Filipino American Section[edit]

Why is it that you continue to remove Fireman 1st Class Telesforo Trinidad's entry in the notable filipino americans list? At the time the Philippine Islands was an insular area of the United States, and thus filipinos born prior to the annexation and during the annexation were US Nationals until that status was rescinded under the Tydings-McDuffie Act. --72.199.154.162 (talk) 10:24, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

As you want. I'll try to stop noting you. Remember that fixing image is always easier than making a long deletion log.--OsamaK 22:26, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Keira Knightley "vandalism"[edit]

My edit to the Keira Knightley page was correcting an error. Her 2005 Golden Globe nomination for Pride & Prejudice was in the Musical/Comedy category, not Drama. Check facts before you call it vandalism.

Candace Kita Page[edit]

So we are kind of new to this Wiki thing and are trying to figure all of it out. Do you work for Wiki? I am not sure why you keep taking our section down. I think its valuable information for anyone interested in her. I read through the policies and we will come up with another way to present the information if we have to, but if you could give us a break and leave it up for now.

Thanks, Matthew Felts —Preceding unsigned comment added by TheOldRonin (talkcontribs) 01:23, 4 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Theta Delta Beta[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Theta Delta Beta, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Image source problem with Image:Elmer davis.jpg[edit]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Elmer davis.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 02:11, 17 October 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Selafim Cash (talk) 02:11, 17 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Pi kappa alpha badge.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Pi kappa alpha badge.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:08, 1 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

And now, for Fvasconcellos' traditional nonsectarian holiday greeting![edit]

Wherever you are, and whether you're celebrating something or not, there is always a reason to spread the holiday spirit! So, may you have a great day, and may all your wishes be fulfilled in 2009! Fvasconcellos (t·c) 14:30, 24 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Is this a combination of my Christmas greeting from 2006 and my New Year's greeting from last year? Why, it most certainly is! Hey, if it ain't broke...

I made no unconstructive edits to Bible nor did I make any edits to Bible at all. I haven't even been on Wikipedia for about a week...I doubt anyone using this computer did it, did you make a mistake? Oh well, no harm done I suppose, but please don't suspend my computer from editing Wikipedia, for I personally haven't done anything. First off, I apologize for the spam. You are receiving this message because you have indicated that you are in Southern California or interested in Southern California topics (either via category or WikiProject).

I would like to invite you to the Los Angeles edition of Wikipedia:Wikipedia Loves Art, a photography scavenger hunt to be held at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) on Saturday, February 28, 2009, from 1:00 to 7:00 PM. All photos are intended for use in Wikipedia articles or on Wikimedia Commons. There will be a prize available for the person who gets the most photos on the list.

If you don't like art, why not come just to meet your fellow Wikipedians. Apparently, we haven't had a meetup in this area since June 2006!

If you are interested in attending, please add your name to Wikipedia:Wikipedia Loves Art#Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Please make a note if you are traveling to the area (train or plane) and need transportation, which can probably be arranged via carpool, but we need time to coordinate. Lodging is as of right now out of scope, but we could discuss that if enough people are interested.

Thank you and I hope to see you there! howcheng {chat} 23:49, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks![edit]

I completely missed that when I added the info last night. Thanks, Dismas|(talk) 21:44, 14 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Shopping Whittier[edit]

Hi Dysepsion,

I want to appologize for the contribution made to the Whittier, CA wiki page.

I added this bit of information because I truley believe that www.shopwhittier.com is a great shopping resource for those who are interested in Whittier, CA.

I understand that vanity is not allowed on wiki, however I thought I was adding value to the page by offering a link to a resource that showcases the community and it's shopping.

Again, sorry for the assumed "spam",

Ken Collins

PS If you reconsider "whittier shopping" as a resource for the whittier page, I would be very pleased, though I do understand that is not very likely. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Birth2work (talkcontribs) 21:19, 29 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Mare Dayco is a Filipina American Star - Google her name.[edit]

The fact that Mare Dayco's name is being constantly deleted from the Filipino Americans list is not right. She is the National Spokesperson for the National Psoriasis Foundation, she is currently recording her second album with Dr. Dre's apprentice (Tootie aka Jesse Lars - platinum producer for Ice Cube), is on IMDB listed as an actress and a movie producer, and has the first ever Filipina American based sitcom currently in the works at Universal. So, for those who choose to be ignorant and naive to who this girl is, wake up! Mare Dayco has played the US Philippine Expo, was one of the four artists chosen to speak at their National press conference and is the one artist that may put Filipinos on the map for good. You're going to find out that out this year. I promise you that. Famous1media (talk) 01:28, 30 January 2009 (UTC).[reply]

The Removal of Lambda Phi Epsilon Controversy Section[edit]

First off I admit that I am a member of the fraternity. And I am sorry that I was just really frustrated of the haters who kept uploading accounts of our fraternity incidents, including those of individual actions that have absolutely nothing to do with the fraternity. I have raised such concern in the discussion page several times but nothing ever happened while the Controversy section kept on growing. In fact, I just read through all the NIC fraternity pages in wikipedia, and I was not surprised to find out that my fraternity is the only fraternity with such "Controversy" section.

I know for a fact that several fraternities from my school were suspended recently. Several students in fraternities were also arrested for various crimes and felonies. Does it mean that we should update every single trivial incident on every single fraternity's page?

Our fraternity is very young and not as well established as others. The existence and influence of national boards were almost like a joke until recently when we started to learn from our mistakes. However, I deem it really unfair for us to suffer our public image because of it. We have more than thousands of active brothers, and 45 active chapters (3 suspended). I really do not believe the actions of a few brothers define who the other thousands of brothers are. The national fraternity is supposed to provide a guideline and ideals for the chapters, but it cannot oversee ALL of them at all time.

I do not really know how everything works in wikipedia. But I was wondering if it is possible to lock up the page and only allow editors of reputable record to edit and oversee its quality and neutral point of view? Thanks. 98.226.198.234 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.226.198.234 (talk) 06:55, 19 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Alpha Tau Omega[edit]

I have to agree with the anon that a level 4 warning is ridiculously extreme for edits as mild as these. Please remove the warning. Also, please read our policy on No Personal Attacks, and in future do not tell other editors that they're "immature" thank you SpitfireTally-ho! 18:46, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

furthermore please do not bite the newcomers, thanks SpitfireTally-ho! 18:49, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The anon's edits was that the actress in question was awarded an Adult Video Award for best ass-to-mouth. That, in my opinion is extremely degrading. That is not "mild". That is what his "commentary" meant. Violations of biographies of living people are taken seriously and I have on occasion handed out level 4 warnings without any confrontation. I've dealt with vandalism for years and this is the first time someone has actually defended it. I will not remove that warning. ----Ðysepsion † Speak your mind 18:55, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well, you're assuming thats what "AVM" meant. Nonetheless, I'd still say thats only worthy of a level one or two. Also your personal attacks still stand SpitfireTally-ho! 18:59, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
OK, obviously that was vandalism. Level 4 was still extreme in my opinion, the Anon has admited that their editing was "silly" and has decided to leave the project. Personal attacks still stand, please stay cool in future, good day SpitfireTally-ho! 19:02, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Truth be told, I did start with the crude expression but immediately changed it, as it was simply too offensive. So, by the time Dysepsion saw the article, it had been sanitized to the point that I'm surprised the acronym was recognizable as meaning anything. (I had to google it to see if the acronym actually existed.) Regardless, as mentioned on my talk page, I will refrain from editing anything here, even with purer intentions. 75.100.95.127 (talk) 19:06, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dysepsion: in regard to your latest message on my talkpage, thanks, and hope to encounter you again on wikipedia, cheers SpitfireTally-ho! 19:13, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you delete my civil comments from your talk page, I shall delete your uncivil ones from mine. Shame on you. 75.100.95.127 (talk) 18:47, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Note: Another IP editor that has been geolocated to the same state, city and zip code as 75.100.95.127 vandalized my user talk page [1] before reverting it [2]. It was the only edits that came from the IP address and I am more than comfortable in believing that I was justified using a level 4 warning to the anon editor previously. ----Ðysepsion † Speak your mind 02:41, 9 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
