Hello CAPTAIN RAJU. Thanks for patrolling new pages – it's a very important task! I'm just letting you know, however, that you shouldn't tag pages as lacking context (CSD A1) and content (CSD A3) moments after they are created, as you did at Challengers Friendster. It is also suggested that pages that might meet CSD A7 criteria not be tagged for deletion immediately after they are created. It's usually best to wait at least 10–15 minutes for more content to be added if the page is very short, and the articles should not be marked as patrolled. Tagging such pages in a very short space of time may drive away well-meaning contributors, which is not good for Wikipedia. Attack pages (G10), blatant nonsense (G1), copyright violations (G12) and pure vandalism/blatant hoaxes (G3) should of course be tagged and deleted immediately. you recently created this article, which currently does not currently seem to satisfy the requirement that information on Wikipedia should be based on independent reliable sources.

In particular, I am curious about your claim that he won a Millenium Mathematics Prize. This is not consistent with Wikipedia's article about these prizes.

At he time of writing i added most of the information on the basis of IISWBM. However, i also couldn't found any solid evidence. Draft:Justin Barbour

Hi DMySon,

Can you explain the reasoning behind draftifying the article on Justin Barbour? I'm curious to know because the reason stated doesn't seem clear enough. If it is about sources then let me explain that the CBC is a reputable and reliable independent media agency, being Canada's primary broadcasting agency. Because each of those stories is dated from different years they would be considered separate sources and demonstrate a longevity of the subjects potential notability therefore they pass WP:BIO1E. I didn't know if you were aware of this so I wanted to let you know just in case the reason was its sources. While I would not base notability on any of the other sources, alone, they do cover the subject and are independent and secondary. The lone exception would be YouTube. It should be removed from the references but can be left as an external source. Their reliability may be in question but the CBC sources are enough to establish notability. Hi ARoseWolf, I can see only CBC references which are reliable but those are not secondary and independent of the subject. Other resources which are Social Blade (Self published): a YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, & Instagram Statistics platform, YouTube(Self published): Not reliable, Flanker: a selling book platform, nfldherald.com: about his book self published, Flanker: biography of the subject self published]. I disagree. The CBC sources are both primary and secondary. There is also biographical information and analytical information in the voice of the journalist written into the article about the events. It is not strictly an interview in the traditional sense. I agree with most of the other sources as you described them here. Regarding nomination for deletion of page Anjali Rattan Nashier

India a country where gender discrimination is prevalent. Anjali is one of the few women who have broken the glass ceiling and has taken the charge. She is leading a corporate house from the front. She has played a pivotal role as a business leader in renewable energy sector when solar energy generation projects were in nascent stage (https://issuu.com/solarquarter/docs/solar_quarter_magazine_august_2017_/28). Now she is creating ripples in electric mobility through her new venture by investments in Revolt Motors. There are not many female corporate leaders in India that have such charisma. That is the reason the article was written on wikipedia. As far as RattanIndia is concerned then it is a big group and does not require publicity. There are already two entities in the group that are listed on Indian stock exchanges and both of them have combined market capitalization of about $1.8 Billion (as on today). Most of the business newspapers publish articles regarding their initiatives regularly.

Ridma Weerawardena has been featured in Sri Lanka's top Newspapers (Lankadeepa and Sunday Observer)^[1]. Was chosen for the ILO's Global Music Against Child Labour Initiative. He had a concert in Sri Lanka^[2]. Are these not enough for the notability?. And he is very popular throughout Sri Lanka in general, as noted in the Daily News article. Moving page directly and changing page name to avoid past deletion history

Hi, User:DMySon, This draft was rejected earlier Draft:Manoj_Kumar_Pramanik. Instead of submitting again the creator directly moved it to live space Manoj Kumar Pramanik. I suspect COI editing here. Also, upon checking more this page seems to be deleted before too under the name [[1]]. The creator seems to have used the full name to avoid past deletion history. New Page Patrol newsletter September 2021

Hello DMySon/Archives,

Please join this discussion - there is increase in the abuse of Wikipedia and its processes by POV pushers, Paid Editors, and by holders of various user rights including Autopatrolled. Even our review systems themselves at AfC and NPR have been infiltrated. The good news is that detection is improving, but the downside is that it creates the need for a huge clean up - which of course adds to backlogs.

Copyright violations are also a serious issue. Most non-regular contributors do not understand why, and most of our Reviewers are not experts on copyright law - and can't be expected to be, but there is excellent, easy-to-follow advice on COPYVIO detection here.

At the time of the last newsletter (#25, December 2020) the backlog was only just over 2,000 articles. New Page Review is an official system. It's the only firewall against the inclusion of new, improper pages.

There are currently 706 New Page Reviewers plus a further 1,080 admins, but as much as nearly 90% of the patrolling is still being done by around only the 20 or so most regular patrollers.

If you are no longer very active on Wikipedia or you no longer wish to be part of the New Page Reviewer user group, please consider asking any admin to remove you from the list. This will enable NPP to have a better overview of its performance and what improvements need to be made to the process or its software.

Various awards are due to be allocated by the end of the year and barnstars are overdue. If you would like to manage this, please let us know. Indeed, if you are interested in coordinating NPR, it does not involve much time and the tasks are described here.

@DMySon: Thanks for your edit on the article. But I do not think that the article falls WP:TOOSOON. As per TOO SOON, A film could merit an article if it meets either WP:Notability (film) or WP:GNG, and the Article just need to meet one of them otherwise it could be on WP:TOOSOON. This is the first Indian multilingual off-road race film and I believe that there is a scope for WP:FILMS Project. The article is well-sourced from reliable sources such as National media also the film is completed and confirmed the release on 10 December also the release date confirmation is sourced. Somebody from Wikipedia told me earlier on live chat that a film which is not been released yet but if its release is confirmed and sourced may have an article and also there are so many upcoming film articles are on Wikipedia. I researched the film, Muddy, before I create the article. I didn't expect an Afc redirect. What else should I include in the article? Hello, you’ve marked my article on Claude Addas she may not meet general notability guidelines. However, she is an academic. She does not need to meet general notability guidelines. She needs to meet WP:ACADEMIC. The first criteria is, “The person's research has had a significant impact in their scholarly discipline, broadly construed, as demonstrated by independent reliable sources.” Per this page, academics can be notable for their work with not being the subject of secondary sources on their biography. It is a substitute for general notability guidelines.

She meets this guideline by publishing one of the most major biographies of Ibn Arabi which I provided reviews for in the reference section as well as quotes by scholars on its notability. Google scholars has 109 citations for Ibn Arabi ou la quete de sulfre rouge. The English language version is at 242 citations. Quest for the Red Sulphur has 399 world cat holdings. I recently created a film article Muddy (film and you moved it to Draft: Muddy (film), and also declined the draft because it's not released yet. Request for advice on how to improve my article

Thanks for taking the time to review my article on Tempura (magazine). I'm not an experienced contributor, so I'm trying to get a proper understanding of Wikipedia. I saw the article has been moved to draft, as it is not ready yet.

This article was a translation of the one I did on the French Wikipedia, since the magazine has an English-speaking readership. The French version has been validated, so I kept the same sections and references. I used references in French, English and Japanese to justify the notoriety of the magazine.

May I ask for your help with two questions?

1) If my understanding is correct, it is not because an article has been validated on one local Wikipedia that it will be validated on another one?

2) What do you advise me to do in order to get my article validated on the English Wikipedia? Is there anything in particular missing from my article?

If you ever come across an editor working on any main space or draft version of an article about a Bikram Malati, please report them to Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Bikram L malati. Most of the obvious page titles have extended protection so the pages won't be recreated again but that doesn't stop sockpuppets from coming up new varieties of page titles for his autobiography. This has been going on since 2018 when the sockpuppeteer was only 15 so it is likely to continue into the future. Just thought I'd give you a head's up.

Notability tag

Good day. You added a senseless (senseless, as the article largely met Wikipedia's general notability guideline, 1) Notability tag to an article I created based on the history of the article creation (the page had been deleted in the past) rather than an objective assessment of what I published. There were six links to articles published by the top-notch Belgian publishers, and by googling the article's subject one immediately realizes whether they are notable or not. The latter you either didn't or neglected the result, for whatever reason.

Page history says no but whatever, I didn't come for that. I was contacted by Cassius Fury earlier today about the article and he indeed thinks that it's notable. Cassius asked me to review the article, and knowing Dutch, I looked at sources in the article and online, then responded, and then reviewed the article. Reading what you said, something isn't right. According to the page logs, you didn't tag the page as "reviewed" in the first place and you marked it unreviewed roughly three hours after Cassius added extra sources and I reviewed it, so, something went wrong I suppose? Hello DMySon, nice to meet you. I am contacting you regarding the TECH Technological University article. I see two warnings were added: notability and advertisement. I would like to know how to improve the writing in the article. I have checked the Talk Section of the article but there is no annotation about the parts that should be edited or deleted. If you would be so kind as to point out the sections that need to be improved, I would appreciate it. I am translating this and other university articles and any help to improve is welcome.

I would like to make a few notes regarding the notoriety. I have read the Wikipedia guidelines about it and in them it is pointed out that: “Notability requires only the existence of suitable independent, reliable sources, not their immediate presence or citation in an article. Editors evaluating notability should consider not only any sources currently named in an article, but also the possibility or existence of notability-indicating sources that are not currently named in the article.”.

On this matter, as you can see all the information in the article has been referenced . I have included different sources to make the information as objective as posible. You can find in the different sources provided the enormous notoriety the university has acquired since 2019. Moreover, searching “TECH Universidad Tecnologica” in Google will show lots of intormation found in all sorts of media.

Regarding the advertisement warning, I would like to improve the redaction style as I mentioned before. In that order, I would like to know which parts of the article are subjected to this warnin in order to edit them. I remain attentive to your comments.

Regarding User:DareshMohan

Hello, I noticed that you filed an SPI which included User:DareshMohan, suggesting that they were a sockpuppet of User:Editiors. I do not see any evidence at all that they are engaging in sockpuppetry, and the only thing that they did was improve a new article, which is quite typical, especially for that editors area of interest. I have made similar mistakes myself in the past, and I learnt from them. I hope you can learn from this too. We need people who can look out for sockpuppetry and report it when they see it. I suggest using Twinkle to do so, as it makes it much easier to list the puppets. You may want to read Wikipedia:Signs of sockpuppetry, if you haven't already, it has some good guidance on spotting fairly straightforward cases. If you think it necessary, you may want to comment on the SPI and say that you would like to withdraw your accusation against DareshMohan, as you don't think that there is any evidence. You may also want to look at their contributions, and compare them to the other socks on the list, you will see a massive difference. Anyway, everyone has to start somewhere, I started off my presence at SPI by filing some which were fairly ridiculous, so don't feel too bad about this one.
