Copey 2 is now Koro Neil (talk). This is because of a glitch in a recent attempt to log on. This is not intended as a sock puppet, as I will be relinquishing the username Copey 2 for the foreseeable future. Koro Neil (talk) 10:29, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome[edit]

Hello Copey 2 and welcome to Wikipedia! I'm glad you've chosen to join us. This is a great project with lots of dedicated people, which might seem intimidating at times, but don't let anything discourage you. Be bold!, explore, and contribute. Try to be civil by following simple rules and signing your talk comments with ~~~~ but never forget that one of our central tenets is to ignore all rules.

If you want to learn more, Wikipedia:Tutorial is the place to go, but eventually the following links might also come in handy:
Help
FAQ
Glossary
Manual of Style

Float around until you find something that tickles your fancy. One easy way to do this is to hit the random page button in the navigation bar to the left. Additionally, the Community Portal offers a more structured way to become acquainted with the many great committees and groups that focus on specific tasks. My personal favorite stomping grounds are Wikipedia:Translation into English as well as the cleanup, welcoming, and counter-vandalism committees. Judging by your user page, you could contribute significantly to the Translation into English page as well. Finally, the Wikimedia Foundation has several other wiki projects that you might enjoy. If you have any more questions, always feel free to ask me anything on my talk page. Again, welcome! -- Draeco 00:45, 10 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Templates[edit]

Wikipedia:Template messages has the exhaustive list of Wikipedia templates, but it sometimes can be as hard to navigate as it is to find. Judging by what you mentioned, the standard {{cleanup}} and {{stub}} tags should do. The cleanup tag is pretty universal, though there is a range of specific tags at Wikipedia:Template messages/Cleanup. There's an even wider range of specific stub markers...as for where those are, I don't know, the best advice I can give you is to browse [[Category:Stub templates]. Kapa O Pango[edit]

Neil,

I noticed your comments about the new All Blacks haka on the main "haka" talk page. If you didn't remember, or haven't already found out by now, the first performance of Kapa O Pango was in your own city, at Carisbrook. Also, I looked at Allblacks.com and found out that the ABs haven't played on the South Island since playing the Boks at Carisbrook in the 2005 Tri Nations. Their next fixture on the South Island will be the 2006 Tri Nations and Bledisloe Cup opener at Jade Stadium in June. I do seem to remember that the ABs used Kapa O Pango against England during the Grand Slam tour, but I may be mistaken. Cheers! — Dale Arnett 17:26, 15 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Neil. I noticed on the talk page for the Tabaluga article, you posted a message along with Arturo Reina asking for clarification of the age span of Dragon Years, compared to humans. If you are interested further, I have now provided clarification for you of how this works. I had already spoken to Arturo, who is attached to Catalan wikipedia, back in January this year. You can find the relevant information on the Talk:Tabalugapage. I hope this helps you. Regards, Thor Malmjursson 12:36, 12 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Could you review your comment on the talk page to that article as I am interested in the point you were making. Thanks. Str1977 (talk) 22:43, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I was Copey 2. I've been without a computer for some time, and had a glitch logging on my wife's computer, hence the new username.
I'm not clear on what you're wanting from me. I came across the apparent Cyprian quote by accident. I am not at all of the KJV only camp, and I have only subsequently found reference to the Cyprian passage in their literature. It strengthens their case somewhat. That is to say, it shows, I think with reasonable certainty, that the comma is far older than any extant text containing it. It is still a very long way, however, from proving that the words were in the original. Koro Neil (talk) 15:19, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to an in-person meetup in Mohua / Golden Bay[edit]

Golden Bay Air are holding some seats for us until 21 November

Thinking about your summer break? Think about joining other Wikipedians and Wikimedians in Golden Bay / Mohua! Details are on the meetup page. There's heaps of interesting stuff to work on e.g. the oldest extant waka or New Zealand's oldest ongoing legal case. Or you may spend your time taking photos and then upload them.

Golden Bay is hard to get to and the airline flying into Tākaka uses small planes, so we are holding some seats from and to Wellington and we are offering attendees a $200 travel subsidy to help with costs.

Be in touch with Schwede66 if this event interests you and you'd like to discuss logistics. Schwede66 09:14, 13 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
