May 2011[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Waldstock Festival UK do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used as a platform for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia.
Your edit here to Waldstock Festival UK was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://www.facebook.com/WaldstockUK) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Waldstock Festival UK, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Kevin (talk) 09:31, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I saw a post of your s somewhere else so I thought I'd try and answer your questions here. This page is still very much in danger of deletion. The event appears to be insufficiently notable for an inclusion in an encyclopedia. To assert notability, you must find independent sources that have found it interesting enough to write extensively about it, preferably on a national level in the established printed media, or a TV documentary dedicated to it. Fleeting mentions in other articles will not satisfy Wikipedia criteria. What you must do is remove all the disallowed references to the social networking sites such as MySpace, FaceBook, Twitter, etc, and to the festival's own website if it has one. See what you're left with, then take enough time to read thoroughly through these Wikipedia policy pages:

If the event then meets the criteria, you must find the kind of sources that are stipulated. Hope this helps, and if you need further assistance, don't hesitate to ask me on my talk page. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 12:40, 13 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I was not aware that fb and myspace links were not acceptable, but have now removed them as such. I will soon have a number of notable independent sources as I know there are some big regional publications who wish to write articles about the festival. Thanks for looking into this. Please be absolutely sure to follow the links I included in my message above, because it seems unlikely that there are going to be any major national press articles or TV documentaries about this event in the immediate future. To avoid deletion, sources are needed now (right now), or we can transfer the article to your user space for a very short time until the awaited major press reports have been written. Please note also that according to your recent statement, you should not be the creator of this article or be editing it. See WP:COI. Declaration of Interest[edit]

I am declaring my interest in [[1]] as the organiser of the event. My involvement in the event is solely voluntary and I get no material gain from promoting it Barneyfrench (talk) 11:04, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
