Speedy deletion nomination of Datavo[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Datavo, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. →Στc. 01:08, 4 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Datavo has been reverted.
Your edit here to Datavo was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://www.twitter.com/datavo) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, fansite, or similar site (see 'Links to avoid', #11), then please check the information on the external site thoroughly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creator's copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Explanation of notability[edit]

Here's the reply I left on the Datavo talk page:

I recommend you read Wikipedia's guidelines on Notability. From those guidelines: "If a topic has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject, it is presumed to satisfy the inclusion criteria for a stand-alone article or stand-alone list.". It then goes on to define those terms. The only source in the article that comes close to meeting the standard is the connectedplanet one, and even that is dubious at best. You need to provide multiple, independent reliable sources to show why Datavo is notable. Good luck, but please don't keep recreating the article in its current form Sparthorse (talk) 20:40, 6 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, At4470, and thanks for your contributions to Wikipedia!

I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you worked on, Datavo Communications, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

It helps to explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you have any questions, feel free to ask on the Help Desk. Thanks again for contributing! Sparthorse (talk) 20:26, 22 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You can remove the proposed deletion notice yourself, as explained above. However, in its current state, I will start an deletion discussion (AfD) about the article. Both the proposed deletion process above and the AfD process run for seven days, so you would have a week once they have started to find proper reliable, independent, published sources. I suggest you read both WP:RS and WP:GNG to get a specific idea of the type and nature of the sources needed to establish the notability of this subject. Good luck, Sparthorse (talk) 21:09, 22 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I've nominated the article for discussion, see below. This gives you a week to find proper sources that show how Datavo (not PSC1) is notable. I'll keep an eye on the discussion and if you can find proper sources and add them to the article, I'll try to ensure the article is kept. Good luck, Sparthorse (talk) 21:30, 22 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
