Hi. I'm John from Idegon. I have been here for 3 years and I mostly edit high school articles. You seem to not be getting my point on the removal of some things from the above page. There a zillions of facts in the world that can be referenced well enough to pass the verifiability standard here. That does not mean we include them. There is air in the hallways and water in the drinking fountains. That does not need to be in the school's article. Since I have never seen a high school (and I watch over 2000 high school articles) that does not have a prom, a homecoming, and a student government, the fact that this one does too does not need to be addressed. If there is something about one of those things that has been written about in reliable, independent sources from outside your local community (as that would indicate that the info was of interest to someone other than a part of the school community), you are welcome to add some prose about that. We do not include things that are primarily of interest to those attending, alumni of, or employees of a school. The target audience for any article on Wikipedia is the entire English speaking world. Do you think Ben in Bhopal or Beth in Boise needs to know that this school, just like every other school in the US, has a prom, a student government and a homecoming? Hi, John from Idegon. Thank you for your feedback. As an obviously new user, I do appreciate you taking the time to reach out to me; in many ways I am still figuring out Wikipedia editing. While I do not disagree with the premise of excluding relatively universal high school activities such as prom and student government, I am perplexed as to why Brevard Future Educators of America (which is both verifiable and arguably interesting) was included. Furthermore, should not yearbook and National Honor Society also be removed for consistency? The only reason the activities were re-added was because they were erroneously identified as non-verifiable, not as too generic. In all honesty, I would not be opposed to removing the section entirely; when I found this article there was only one activity listed, yet an entire section devoted to activities. In lieu of deletion, I opted to flesh it out. What are your thoughts on removing the section entirely? Amockens (talk) 22:13, 24 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Removal would be my choice. Sections on clubs tend just grow exponentially, mostly with stuff that is only marginally true. Since generally, the only source for this info is the school's own webpage, I personally remove any club that isn't on it (there is a HS in Minnesota where the students keep adding their lunchtime card-playing groups, writing about them in flowery language like a game of euchre is going to lead to the cure for cancer!). The future educators verifiability is questionable, as the link you provided is to a log in for them on the private student use section of the school webpage. I don't feel they add much to a school's article unless there is some encyclopedic level of accomplishments that go with them (we only discuss state or national championships). Robotics clubs, club level athletics, mock court clubs and model United nations clubs are examples of groups that sometimes have verifiable accomplishments. Once you list those, with a bit on accomplishments, then you kinda have to list all the clubs on the school's website to avoid kids willy-nilly adding their club of choice. It is a hard balance to keep. If you write about some you need to write about all to be fair, so unless there is something to say about one or more, my choice would be none. And belatedly, welcome to Wikipedia. I work on mostly schools and places in the US, but I have experience in things like the deletion process and the article creation process too. I am always glad to help new editors, especially ones that are willing to try to learn the ropes here and care enough to communicate like you have. Drop me a line on my talk page if there is anything I can do for you. John from Idegon (talk) 22:33, 24 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the suggestion. I plan to slowly fix this article: update the statistics and demographics (some of which are almost ten years old), replace the broken links with updated citations (if I can find them), expand on the Fine Arts section (because SHS has won state and national level awards), and (thanks to your suggestion) delete the activities section. I am sure we will work together again,John from Idegon, as I am bound to err at some point. Until next time! Amockens (talk) 23:05, 24 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
This is probably the single best source for demographic data on any school: NCES. Athletic info can be found at: FHSAA. Keep up the good work! John from Idegon (talk) 23:38, 24 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello why was the Yamimash page deleted? You gave me a chance to put references. I was abut to but it was deleted. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ambyamby (talkcontribs) 14:12, 6 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I was not the editor who made the deletion; I only nominated it. However, it seems that there have been quite a few other editors who have felt similarly. Debatable significance aside, my biggest concern was that it violated the No Original Research policy. I also recommend using more formal language in any future articles you work on. Best of luck!Amockens (talk) 14:50, 6 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Non-dropframe. Thank you for reaching out! I added additional citations, so there are now seven distinct, independent sources, in addition to the citations to the primary source. Please let me know if you have additional feedback!Amockens (talk) 16:57, 24 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
