FYI

Did/do you create a lot of test cases? FYI, I made this fix to one of yours. --Elvey (talk) 19:15, 26 March 2014 (UTC)

I haven’t edited any templates recently. BTW, why are you bringing up that old edit of mine? – Allen4names (contributions) 05:19, 27 March 2014 (UTC)
You created the test case. I brought it up so that if you create a lot of test cases, you can avoid the subtle bug I fixed... which was to a testcase page, not to a template (or template sandbox). I'm not complaining. Thanks for your contributions. I don't know how to search for other test cases that have the same bug.--Elvey (talk) 23:46, 27 March 2014 (UTC)
The MediaWiki software replaced the space " " with the NBSP entity " ". A bot could grep for the style attribute in templates and then track down all the instances where this bug may appear (ie. with grep 'style=\".*&#160\;.*\"'). – Allen4names (contributions) 16:59, 29 March 2014 (UTC)
Thanks but I still don't know how to search for other test cases that have the same bug, or ask someone to. I'd be happy if you did, but WP:VOLUNTEER... Wikipedia:Creating_a_bot#Overview_of_the_process_of_developing_a_bot feels overwhelming; maybe I'm misreading it, but it seems to be in conflict with WP:NOTBUREAUCRACY --Elvey (talk) 02:20, 2 May 2014 (UTC)
Unfortunately a bot will be needed for this as search engines look at content not code. I have a good idea about the steps needed (not limited to test cases) but creating a bot is beyond my skill level. – Allen4names (contributions) 17:53, 3 May 2014 (UTC)

Your reversion of my edit to "Andromeda Stories"

Greetings and felicitations. I noticed that you reverted my edit to Andromeda Stories, and am wondering way you feel that I added an "unneeded extra link". The article's info box includes the film adaptation of Andromeda Stories, for which there is no stand-alone article, so it seems to me that the A.S. article also implicitly covers the film, and therefore a link to the ANN Encyclopedia's entry for the anime is completely pertinent.—DocWatson42 (talk) 06:16, 13 July 2014 (UTC)

The ANN encyclopedia articles are linked to each other therefore the extra link is unneeded. – Allen4names (contributions) 14:36, 17 July 2014 (UTC)
But that is not apparent to the casual Wikipedia user, who may pass the manga link by because it (apparently) does not relate to the anime. Placing the anime link in the Wikipedia article makes it clear to the user that there is a specific entry in the ANN Encyclopedia, something that is not always the case.—DocWatson42 (talk) 04:23, 18 July 2014 (UTC)
Hello?—DocWatson42 (talk) 03:10, 27 July 2014 (UTC)
Hellooo?—DocWatson42 (talk) 00:14, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
I take your continued silence on this matter as tacit agreement and will re-add the link in question in the near future.—DocWatson42 (talk) 22:42, 12 August 2014 (UTC)
Don't forget to add the kitchen sink and all the other reindeer. You do want Wikipedia to be what? – Allen4names (contributions) 02:53, 14 August 2014 (UTC)
P.S. I am a little annoyed at myself as I have not been logged in as often as I should. I should have noted that there are no "manga" links but links to web pages. If needed the noparen property can be used with {{Ann}}. If you are going to add a bunch of ANN links you should not neglect to add IMDb and BCDd links (et al.) as well. I would not per WP:NOT and WP:LINKFARM. – Allen4names (contributions) 03:04, 14 August 2014 (UTC)
I want Wikipedia to be user friendly. And I would not add links to the Internet Movie Database or the Big Cartoon Database because the former isn't very useful for most anime (no Japanese language support and often non-Hepburn romanization, among other things) and the latter merely licensed the second edition of The Anime Encyclopedia, so linking to the last would be better. In any case, the third edition of TAE will be released in December, which will make the BCDb obsolete.—DocWatson42 (talk) 23:21, 18 August 2014 (UTC)
"User friendly" does not quite answer my question. What should Wikipedia be? An online encyclopedia? Spam site for ANN? What? I should also note that I can not justify excluding the other links (including "et al.") if there are to be a bunch of ANN links in articles (up to 4 for Andromeda Stories). – Allen4names (contributions) 07:00, 19 August 2014 (UTC)

Presumably this discussion is at an end. If you wish to continue it may be best to do so at WT:ANIME. – Allen4names (contributions) 03:07, 29 August 2014 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for May 5

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of Neon Genesis Evangelion chapters, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Dark Horse. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

A tag has been placed on Flower of Life (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G6 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an orphaned disambiguation page which either

  • disambiguates two or fewer extant Wikipedia pages and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic); or
  • disambiguates no (zero) extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. — Jeraphine Gryphon (talk) 07:14, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
