Another possible Rev/Del

Hello Alison and a belated Happy New Year to you. I hope you are well!. This post and edit summary are an attack on one of our long term editors. I think they might be rev/del worthy. It is possible that another admin might get to them before you do but I thought I'd ask just in case. Cheers. MarnetteD|Talk 05:51, 16 January 2015 (UTC)

  • Thanks, MarnetteD, and Happy New Year to you, too :) You're absolutely right, of course - I've gone ahead and RevDel'd them - Alison 05:53, 16 January 2015 (UTC)
And many thanks to you for the quick response and action. MarnetteD|Talk 05:55, 16 January 2015 (UTC)

Yet another

Well I don't usually get to say hello again so quickly. Another long term editor is getting bombarded with person attacks by an IP. One of them was rev/del on Jan 15 but I can't seem to find which admin performed that task so I thought I would as you to take a look at things. Cheers. MarnetteD|Talk 20:17, 17 January 2015 (UTC)

Looks like it got taken care of while I was typing this. Still I did get to leave another Orange thing for ya :-) MarnetteD|Talk 20:18, 17 January 2015 (UTC)

Amazon Eve

I'm confused about your argument. You said that WP:BIRTHNAME doesn't say anything about including the birth name in the lead...except for where it does. In the "First mention" section, it says "In some cases, subjects have legally changed their names at some point after birth. In these cases the birth name should be given as well:", such as in this case. It then gives a specific set up example: "William Jefferson "Bill" Clinton (born William Jefferson Blythe III, August 19, 1946) ..." Does that not look exactly like the edit I made to Amazon Eve's page?

As for MOS:IDENTITY, I don't see how this relates to my edit. I didn't change "actress" to "actor", and I'm not trying to imply that she isn't a woman in the slightest. I'm merely stating what her birth name was in the lead, as BIRTHNAME recommends.

I don't want to edit war with you, but I'm having serious trouble seeing where your arguments are coming from, so I wanted to talk to you about it and try to get a clearer explanation. Conversations through edit summaries isn't the most useful, after all :P Sock (tock talk) 13:03, 22 January 2015 (UTC)

  • It's pretty poor practice, for one. It's already in the infobox, so it's already on the page. Putting it in the lede, as you did is just undue weight. In this instance, your Bill Clinton example is a pretty poor analogy. And you've been doing this repeatedly for a long number of months now, always returning to re-add it. That's just ... odd - Alison 05:51, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
I was unaware that I'd done it frequently, I only recall doing it twice. I'm not trying to belittle Erika's gender or anything like that (seriously, she's awesome), I was just trying to unify how these articles are frequently presented. I don't see how the Clinton analogy is poor, but the same case goes for The Wachowskis, which discusses Lana (previously Larry) Wachowski. As you can see, I've stopped adding it, I just fail to see how I was causing any problems. Sorry if I've offended you or violated policy! Sock (tock talk) 17:41, 12 February 2015 (UTC)

Your administrator and bureaucrat status on the Manx Wikipedia

Hello. A policy regarding the removal of "advanced rights" (administrator, bureaucrat, etc.) was adopted by community consensus in 2013. According to this policy, the stewards are reviewing activity on wikis with no inactivity policy.

You meet the inactivity criteria (no edits and no log actions for 2 years) on the wiki listed above. Since that wiki does not have its own rights review process, the global one applies.

If you want to keep your rights, you should inform the community of the wiki about the fact that the stewards have sent you this information about your inactivity. If the community has a discussion about it and then wants you to keep your rights, please contact the stewards at m:Stewards' noticeboard, and link to the discussion of the local community, where they express their wish to continue to maintain the rights.

If you wish to resign your rights, you can reply here or request removal of your rights on Meta.

If there is no response at all after approximately one month, stewards will proceed to remove your administrator and/or bureaucrat rights. In ambiguous cases, stewards will evaluate the responses and will refer a decision back to the local community for their comment and review. If you have any questions, please contact the stewards. Hello A. This looks ready for a rev/del. In fact it looks like all of the now blocked Tude 57 (talk · contribs) edits are problematic. I've seen your notes to others that you don't edit as much as you used to so if you would like me to take this somewhere else just let me know. Cheers. MarnetteD|Talk 00:59, 8 February 2015 (UTC)

You are welcome and thanks for dealing with those smelly socks. Most of Tude's edits were variations on this as they look to be BLP violations are they eligible for r/d as well? Enjoy the rest of your weekend. MarnetteD|Talk 01:19, 8 February 2015 (UTC)

Invitation

Have you heard of the Kaffeeklatsch? It is a test area for women to hear and support each other. The idea came about as a result of a discussion at meta regarding my IdeaLab proposal (yet open) for WikiProject Women.

Now that the klatsch has survived an MfD and WMF legal has said that it does not violate the non discrimination policy,[1] I am looking for women editors who might like to join.

Although I have started a couple of discussions, they are not urgent. For now, the "Please introduce yourself" discussion is more important! I want to take it slow at first and build a small group before trying to address heavy topics or come up with big goals. For now, the klatsch is there as a sort of refuge. I hope you will consider joining, and invite other women editors, too, if you wish. Lightbreather (talk) 21:37, 8 February 2015 (UTC)

BLP violation?

Hello, Alison,

There was a notice on Bruce Jenner's entry in this week's Wikipedia:Wikipedia Signpost/2015-02-11/Traffic report and User:Serendipodous/Top25 that he is transgender. I've left a note on Serendipodous's talk page to remove this since he maintains those pages but I haven't received a response. Should I just remove this myself? Thanks for your help. Liz Read! Talk! 16:38, 12 February 2015 (UTC)

  • Oh - you're absolutely right. It's a serious BLP issue, it's absolutely unsourced and just basically, tabloid gossip. As you know WP:BLP doesn't just apply to article pages, so I've gone ahead and removed them and RevDel'd the entries. Thanks for letting me know! :) - Alison 17:35, 12 February 2015 (UTC)
Thanks, Alison. Serendipodous does such an awesome job maintaining these pages that I was reluctant to edit them myself. I was uncertain if it was a BLP violation and then I went to Talk:Bruce Jenner and, wow!, it is such a controversial topic, like Chelsea Manning. I appreciate you getting to this so quickly. Liz Read! Talk! 19:40, 12 February 2015 (UTC)
Hi Liz! Thanks for the followup :) I don't like to step on anyone's toes either, but this one was pretty egregious. I understand that Serendipodous meant well, and that this one fell through the cracks. The way with the Jenner case is that folks are saying his LGBT status is a kinda "big, open secret" at this stage, which it may well be. Unfortunately, all of this is sourced to one speculative magazine article, plus whispers and comments from others, along with people making pointed comments about his appearance. In short, we don't have a WP:RS for anything about his orientation or identity. And until we do, it should be kept out. Especially when it comes to LGBT issues, this can have a serious impact on a person's life, and sometimes, their safety. We need to be super-careful. The same happened with Tim Cook. Everyone knew he was gay (especially us 'insiders' :) ) but there was no reliable source to confirm that until Tim actually outed himself in a recent interview. Then the floodgates open and his article was update, which is the way it should be, really - Alison 19:55, 12 February 2015 (UTC)
Alison, luckily, Bruce Jenner fell out of the Top 10 reported on the Signpost but he still appears on Wikipedia:Top 25 Report at #12 with an explanation that is a dig at WP:BLP. I don't want to be humorless but I think it's also an oblique way of saying that there is something scandalous about Jenner's life. What do you think? Liz Read! Talk! 17:30, 19 February 2015 (UTC)

Kallmann syndrome

Hello, I think you did some editing on the Kallmann syndrome page today and reverted some apparent vandalism.

I watch the page carefully as I have provided a fair amount of content for the page and was a bit concerned when a couple of edits happened recently. Thank you for keeping an eye on the page. I hope we do not get a recurrence of that sort of vandalism.

CheckUser request

Hi, Alison. I wonder whether you would be willing to do a checkuser for me. At User talk:Mr Rapano there is a request for an unblock of a proxy block on the IP address 197.85.132.8, which was blocked as an open proxy by ProcseeBot on 6 March 2014, a you can see at Special:Contributions/197.85.132.8. Searches on the internet confirm that the IP address was at that time in use as an open proxy server and a source of spam, but I am unable to find any evidence whatever that it is still doing either of those. Certainly, repeated attempts to connect to the proxy have all failed. In fact, it seems to me almost certain that it is no longer an o[pen proxy, and it should be unblocked. However, perhaps you could have a CheckUser look and see whether there is any evidence I can't see which would make unblocking unwise. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 14:32, 24 February 2015 (UTC)

  • Hi @JamesBWatson:. I took a look behind the IP and everything looks okay. I'd say go ahead and unblock, or at least maybe drop it down to just a softblock. Thanks for following up with this editor :) - Alison 14:40, 24 February 2015 (UTC)

New User Needs Help =

Hi. I don't know the processes very well. I had an assignment to keep up with wiki page for school and began. I first chose something non-controversial and it was asked that I try something with more depth. Thus, I edited Vaccine controversies. After almost making the mistake of an edit war, I went to the talk page.

I expected some back and forth, however one particular user AndyTheGrump appears overtly disruptive. He had content deleted from the commons despite the permissions being given, he deleted 12,000+comments that disagree with his point of view as 'archive', I think. Well, just look at the talk history and read my talk page. If he is correct, he is certainly not providing clear explanations nor being polite. Will you please advise?

Thank YouDcrsmama (talk) 12:31, 2 March 2015 (UTC)

I'd advise looking at the edits in question, which improperly removed posts by other contributors - the archiveng had been done by a bot. I have repeatedly pointed this out to Dcrsmama, who seems however to fail to comprehend why this is improper. As for the file uploaded to commons, it was speedy deleted as a copyright violation, since Dcrsmama had misleadingly stated that the image was public domain, - the supposed source for this statement said nothing of the sort. Dcrsmama is a WP:SPA clearly intent on pushing a fringe view regarding the vaccine controversy article, and who's response when policy has been explained has been to ignore such comment, and carry on regardless. Frankly, I can see no reason why Wikipedia would need such a contributor. AndyTheGrump (talk) 12:59, 2 March 2015 (UTC)
I had just told AndyTheGrump about the bot edits. this is the first he mentions the bot. Otherwise, he speaks for himself. Commons will make the decision on the copyright. As he well knows, I have published now three times the link to where the creators give permission to use their work. Vaccine reform may be a less vocal group, but not a fringe group. Otherwise, he speaks for himself.Dcrsmama (talk) 13:25, 2 March 2015 (UTC)
Commons has already deleted the image as a copyright violation. Nowhere on the page that Dcrsmama linked there did the words 'public domain' appear, and nothing on the page could be interpreted as a statement that they were releasing their own self-created content into the public domain. Though frankly this is a non-issue anyway, since a graph from a partisan source like healthsentinel.com is clearly unacceptable in a medical article per WP:RS.
Incidentally, I'm unsure why Dcrsmama chose this page to raise these issues - there doesn't seem to have been any prior interaction? AndyTheGrump (talk) 13:35, 2 March 2015 (UTC)

Hi Alison. I am requesting your attention over at WP:Requests for undeletion because of an article that was speedily deleted twice, uncontroversially. I recently contacted arbcom-l@lists.wikimedia.org about a recent WP:Child protection matter (see here), and I've emailed you with details. Turns out that the WP:WMF will be handling all future WP:Child protection matters, and so I had to email legal-reports@wikimedia.org with details. The WP:Child protection policy will need updating "once all the new arrangements are finalised" with regard to the WP:WMF handling WP:Child protection and other matters. I'm not sure about the change, as it feels like WP:ArbCom (for example, you and AGK) acted quicker on these matters and have significantly more experience with them. Anyway, if you have the same email address you had when we used to exchange emails, you should have the aforementioned details. Flyer22 (talk) 23:06, 16 April 2015 (UTC)

Issue with Robert / Rms125a@hotmail.com / "Quis separabit?"

Hi There Alison,

There's a discussion about user Rms125a@hotmail.com (Robert) aka (signature) "Quis separabit?" here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Administrators%27_noticeboard/Incidents#Bulk_Delete_Action_by_Robert_RMS125a_AT_yahoo.com_aka_Quis_separabit.3F

I was wondering if you cared to take a look and comment. I have no proof that Robert has practiced as he admitted, "deletionist tendencies", but perhaps you do. His comment on the thread seemed racist and bigoted as well, as he seemed to point a finger at a group of people (of which I happen not to be a member of) but it is nonetheless offensive and unacceptable.

Also, he did not respond to emails sent directly to him in order to address the issue(s).

Much appreciate your feedback or observations on the matter, as I believe that you have knowledge of and a history with this user.

I'm sure many other novice editors don't try to stand up to his aggressive and threatening manner. 66.65.111.148 (talk) 20:23, 21 June 2015 (UTC)

New rev/del possibilities

Hello Alison. I hope that you are having a pleasant summer. This edit and this one look like an attack on someone. I checked and the person does not have a article. As ever thanks for your time. MarnetteD|Talk 14:22, 9 July 2015 (UTC)

Question

If an editor has strong evidence of tag-team activity, would it be appropriate to ask you to check an IP that suddenly became involved to avoid 3RR? Atsme📞📧 16:36, 11 July 2015 (UTC)

I need your help, please?

There is an ongoing ANI Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Incidents#Vandal-like_disruption.2C_aspersions_and_PAs_at_WP:AVDUCK which I filed because of the disruptive behavior of 3 editors, one of whom is User:I9Q79oL78KiL0QTFHgyc/Previous_Account_Names who has a history of sock activity and disruptive editing. I certainly don't want to make false allegations against any editor but his disruptive behavior at WP:AVDUCK leads me to believe he's back at it, especially considering the IP keeps restoring the gibberish he added to an image caption at the essay now subject of the ANI. I believe the IP may be a sock: [3] [4]. At the very least the timing is suspect. I don't want to get in trouble for falsely accusing anyone so I am seeking your advice as to the proper steps I should take. Thank you in advance. Atsme📞📧 18:32, 1 August 2015 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) If you don't want to get in trouble for falsely accusing anyone, perhaps you shouldn't accuse them, User:Atsme. This is a public page. If you want my advice, starting a case at WP:SPI shouldn't get you in trouble; implications on user talkpages like the above are more likely to lead to trouble, in fact. Also note that Alison edits a little spottily — not since July 27. Bishonen | talk 20:36, 1 August 2015 (UTC).

Invitation to subscribe to the edit filter mailing list

Hi, as a user in the edit filter manager user group we wanted to let you know about the new wikipedia-en-editfilters mailing list. As part of our recent efforts to improve the use of edit filters on the English Wikipedia it has been established as a venue for internal discussion by edit filter managers regarding private filters (those only viewable by administrators and edit filter managers) and also as a means by which non-admins can ask questions about hidden filters that wouldn't be appropriate to discuss on-wiki. As an edit filter manager we encourage you to subscribe; the more users we have in the mailing list the more useful it will be to the community. If you subscribe we will send a short email to you through Wikipedia to confirm your subscription, but let us know if you'd prefer another method of verification. I'd also like to take the opportunity to invite you to contribute to the proposed guideline for edit filter use at WP:Edit filter/Draft and the associated talk page. Thank you! This is a message from the Wikimedia Foundation. Translations are available.

As you may know, the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees approved a new "Access to nonpublic information policy" on 25 April 2014 after a community consultation. The former policy has remained in place until the new policy could be implemented. That implementation work is now being done, and we are beginning the transition to the new policy.

An important part of that transition is helping volunteers like you sign the required confidentiality agreement. All Wikimedia volunteers with access to nonpublic information are required to sign this new agreement, and we have prepared some documentation to help you do so.

The Wikimedia Foundation is requiring that anyone with access to nonpublic information sign the new confidentiality agreement by 15 December 2015 (OTRS users have until 22 December 2015) to retain their access. You are receiving this email because you have access to nonpublic information and are required to sign the confidentiality agreement under the new policy.

Signing the confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information is conducted and tracked using Legalpad on Phabricator. The general confidentiality agreement is now ready, and the OTRS agreement will be ready after 22 September 2015. We have prepared a guide on Meta-Wiki to help you create your Phabricator account and sign the new agreement: Confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information/How to sign

If you have any questions or experience any problems while signing the new agreement, please visit this talk page or email me (gvarnum@wikimedia.org). Again, please sign this confidentiality agreement by 15 December 2015 (OTRS users have until 22 December 2015) to retain your access to nonpublic information. If you do not wish to retain this access, please let me know and we will forward your request to the appropriate individuals.

Hi Alison,

I found your username listed at Category:Wikipedia administrators willing to provide copies of deleted articles. Can you please move copies of the following articles to my userspace so I can review + see about improving? Thank you.

Hmlarson (talk) 06:40, 25 October 2015 (UTC)

I've updated User:Hmlarson/Cassandra Dimovski with content and references and would like to re-publish. Can you take a look? Thank you. Also, can you userfy one more so I can review? Monnique Hansen Kofoed. Thanks again. Hmlarson (talk) 21:08, 7 November 2015 (UTC)

Hi Alison. I noticed that you indefinitely protected this talk page back in 2010. Although the policy is silent on this issue, in my opinion, talk pages should only be protected indefinitely in the case of serious and ongoing disruption. According to the protection log, you protected the page due to BLP violations, but I can see no evidence of such edits in the 11 months or so before you protected the page. As such, I can't see any good reason to continue with indefinite protection of this talk page, which is preventing unregistered users from discussing and proposing edits to this semi-protected article.

Would you consider removing the protection? If disruption resumes, of course, I would not object to the protection being reinstated (although ideally not "indefinite" protection). Thanks, — This, that and the other (talk) 01:02, 29 October 2015 (UTC)

  • Hi there. The edits in question were suppressed, so will not be available to you. Given the nature of the issue back then, I'm not going to unprotect the page at this time. Your best option would probably to drop an email to WP:ARBCOM or email legal@wikimedia.org and ask them for their direction on this - Alison 01:32, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
  • Admins can see some of the damage over here - Alison 01:34, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
    • Wow, must have been pretty serious disruption if they were expunged altogether. I suppose it's fair game to leave the page protected then. All the same, indefinite protection of a talk page does make me a little uneasy in general, so I'll contact ArbCom or Legal if I find the time. Thanks for the response. — This, that and the other (talk) 23:09, 29 October 2015 (UTC)

I came by to alert you to the discussion taking place on the talk page concerning the use of the term "investigate" vs. "discuss" or perhaps some other. I also had a question and request. According to some past discussions on the talk page, you appear to have a direct connection to the subject matter. My question is whether that is correct such that would it place your participation under WP:COI. If so, I'd ask that you not edit the article directly and participate instead in the talk page discussion. Figureofnine (talkcontribs) 13:24, 5 November 2015 (UTC)

  • I accidentally reverted an edit, then reverted myself when I realized my error. How does that constitute editing the article? - Alison 19:38, 5 November 2015 (UTC)
    • Was this an error too? It is the edit that drew my attention the word "investigate." Yes, the scare quotes were inappropriate, but someone other than yourself should have made that edit because that is the path advised by WP:COI in such situations. But putting that aside for a moment, I have a question. Why haven't you complied with WP:DISCLOSE by putting the connected contributor template at the top of the talk page and making a COI disclosure on your user page? In the RfC discussion you say in small print that "we all know that" you are the site's co-founder. I don't think that's correct, and I only had a vague recollection of that which I had to do some digging to confirm. Figureofnine (talkcontribs) 15:17, 26 November 2015 (UTC)
  • Appreciate this edit to the Wikipediocracy user page, which I assumed was a good-faith effort to comply with WP:COI, and was not intentionally snarky or disruptive, appearances to the contrary notwithstanding. WP:COI says that users "should also disclose the COI on your user page and during any discussion about the topic elsewhere. You can also make a statement in the edit summary of any COI contribution." Will you be doing any of this, or is it your position that this part of the guideline does not apply to you? Figureofnine (talkcontribs) 13:31, 1 December 2015 (UTC)

I see that Inspector Hardcase is on the scene. Luckily, WP:UCS says that you can ignore him and get on with something that's actually useful.  — Scott talk 15:50, 1 December 2015 (UTC)

Thank you for remembering Telsa. Please look at her entry at WP:RIP and add/edit/modify it as you see fit. Research was sad, seeing her enduring "misogynistic and demeaning comments" and other obnoxious treatment on-line. I did my best to be positive in writing her obit... or am I ignoring things that need to be said? I will value your opinion. Thanks, DocTree (ʞlɐʇ·ʇuoɔ) WER 23:05, 9 November 2015 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Strong-Deaf

The article Strong-Deaf has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Sourced to one editorial article - no evidence supplied of wider use. Googling finds a widely-reviewed book title but not much else.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. PamD 10:42, 13 November 2015 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Alison, there is a discussion at WP:COIN on the issues that have arisen at Talk:Wikipediocracy. See [5]. Perhaps we can discuss there if you feel the guideline doesn't apply. Coretheapple (talk) 02:28, 9 December 2015 (UTC)

  • I can see that. It looks like a whole lot of drama, posturing and finger-pointing. Why would I be interested in wallowing in that? Also - I'm busy IRL - Alison 02:30, 9 December 2015 (UTC)
Just out of curiosity, have you ever discussed whether WP:DISCLOSE applies to you? I searched. I see the issue has come up before, but you never talk about it. You do revert, though. Coretheapple (talk) 02:33, 9 December 2015 (UTC)

Alison you commenced and sustained the "drama and posturing" by your edits on the talk page. Pleading "RL" now seems disingenuous when you are approached for serious discussion at the noticeboard. Would you consider absenting yourself entirely from that article, talk page included? Figureofnine (talkcontribs) 05:04, 9 December 2015 (UTC)

  • Absolutely not! I'll edit as I see fit, under the rules that govern Wikipedia. Same as I've always done. Nor will I be bullied into submission, thanks. And, unlike you baying wolves, I'm open about who I am. If you know me IRL, you'll know why I'm busy ;) - Alison 05:21, 9 December 2015 (UTC)
  • But that's my point. You haven't been following the rules. All you're asked is to do is follow WP:DISCLOSE. That involves placing a connected contributor template on the talk page. You declined to abide by that rule. So I did, because you are cofounder of the site and disclosed that on the talk page. You and your friends responded by treating that like a joke, disruptively adding the names of nonconflicted editors to the template. Just recently you revert-warred to remove the entire template. You still refuse to discuss the template on the merits and resort to ad hominem. Looks to me like an editor with advanced permissions evading the COI disclosure rule. I don't find that funny at all. Figureofnine (talkcontribs) 05:48, 9 December 2015 (UTC)
  • Wikipedians sure can get self-righteous when the topic in question touches on criticism of Wikipedia itself. So, shouldn't that mean that all WP editors be listed as having a COI with the Wikipediocracy article, since Wikipediocracy's purpose is to investigate and criticize Wikipedia and Wikipedians? I would say that, based on Figureofnine's interpretation of the COI policy, no registered WP user can edit the article without declaring a COI. Cla68 (talk) 05:58, 9 December 2015 (UTC)
I pointed this out. But sadly they want it both ways. To declare a COI by others but not acknowledge their own. Only in death does duty end (talk) 09:08, 9 December 2015 (UTC)
I've been clear that only the site founder, Alison, having declared a connection, should be in that template. She and others sought to evade use of that standard template, present in hundreds of articles, by adding nonconflicted editors and treating the whole thing generally as a joke. Alison herself has branded that standard COI template a "badge if shame." If it is for her it is for every conflicted editor. Alison does not warrant preferential treatment because of her advanced permissions. The only persons who have added names other than Alison are Alison and the persons themselves. Cla68, your quarrel is with them not me. Figureofnine (talkcontribs) 13:55, 9 December 2015 (UTC)
How dare you publicly dismiss my advanced permissions in such an offhand fashion. My crack team of lawyers and I will be seeing you in Wiki Court, where I will be claiming damages of approximately one bajillion internet doubloons to compensate for this slur on my reputation.  — Scott talk 15:03, 9 December 2015 (UTC)

User:Velebit, Blocked or Banned?

Hi, me and another user are having a small dispute about an editor and the templates that are displayed on his page. Is User:Velebit Blocked Indefinitely or Site Banned? Thanks, TF { Contribs } { Edit Quest! } 18:37, 16 December 2015 (UTC)

We're not having a real dispute here, it's been well known for years now that he is banned, as the ANI discussion linked from User:Velebit elucidates. But there is a tool that User:Titusfox is using that thinks that a ban is not in place. Someone just needs to do whatever is necessary to clear up that tool. --Joy [shallot] (talk) 18:53, 16 December 2015 (UTC)
Hi there. I've commented here, as best I can. Note, though, that I'm by no means a final arbiter in these things. In this case, the previous sock was blocked by another checkuser, so that was a  Confirmed sock.
