December 2021[edit]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Draft:Wildlands Festival a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, A.greco21. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Please explain if you have any connection to the music festivals you have written about. MB 21:30, 21 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there, completely understand where you are coming from! I don't have any connection to these music festivals, I am just someone who really enjoys going to Australian music festival and am planning to update/create a page for all the ones that I have been over the past couple of years, giving an insight into their history/lineup that these have previously had. A lot of the AUS festival either have very basic wiki pages or do not have one at all. I thought the addition of these onto Wikipedia would've have been welcomed onto the site.

Notice of Conflict of interest noticeboard discussion[edit]

Information icon There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard regarding a possible conflict of interest incident with which you may be involved. Thank you. MB 21:41, 21 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Pitch Main Stage.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Pitch Main Stage.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 03:57, 22 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Pitch Main Stage.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement of https://de-de.facebook.com/pitchmusicfestival/photos/a.3151858531511354/3151870911510116/?type=3&theater. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. December 2021[edit]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely for advertising or promotion and violating the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use. This is because you have been making promotional edits to topics in which you have a financial stake, yet you have failed to adhere to the mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a form of conflict of interest (COI) editing which involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is strictly prohibited. Using this site for advertising or promotion is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia.

If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, please read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock|reason=your reason here ~~~~}} at the end of your user talk page. For that request to be considered, you must:

  • Confirm that you have read and understand the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements.
  • State clearly how you are being compensated for your edits, and describe any affiliation or conflict of interest you might have with the subjects you have written about.
  • Describe how you intend to edit such topics in the future.

Just to clarify a bit: you were asked here to disclose your connection to these various music festivals promoted by Untitled Group, but did not do so. You then created this promotional page. Wikipedia does not tolerate promotion of any kind. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 13:19, 23 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

your reason here Hi Justletterandnumbers. I just want to start this off by saying that I have not been paid to create/edit these pages that have been taken down - which I have previously stated. I am not really sure why these pages have been taken down just because they were made in a way that makes it looks like someone has been paid to do so. I have done editing in the past (not on wiki) so that may be the reason why they sound that way. Being my first time editing/creating a page on Wikipedia I wanted to make sure I did it in a way that looks similar to how other wiki pages are created/look, especially other festivals pages (Tomorrowland (festival)). All the info I put in the pages was researched and referenced different websites where they talked about these individual festivals, so any quotes were taken directly from these places. If there is a way we can resolve this I would appreciate it or if possible you can give me tips on how I can fix this? This was my first time on wiki and I obviously have a lot to learn about how this space works as a community. I was planning on doing other festivals throughout AUS too, as I have been to heaps of music festivals throughout AUS and have seen that most of these festivals have very basic pages or lack one completely. As you can also see on the pages that I created, in the Talk spaces the wiki page “WikiProject Australian music” has supported the making of these pages so the need for these pages to be made has been recognised. I understand that it may look like the pages are promotional because I created festivals from the one organisers, but after I finished with Untitled Group, I was going to move onto Hardware Group (another event organiser). Also if you look at the original Beyond the Valley pages and the one I created all I did was update the page to make it more current. I confirm that I have read and understood the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements. I also just want to say that I did to appeal my block soon as I was away on holiday. can i please get a follow up on this?

Decline reason:

You are here for the sole purpose of promoting one business. It seems wholly improbable that you are doing this without being in the pay of that business, but frankly it doesn't make much difference whether you are or not, as editing for promotional purposes us unacceptable either way. If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
