Wikipedia Project[edit]

You must create a page in your userspace to contain an article for a history paper at your userspace/sandbox. You can use your textbook and any book or magazine in the library as a source.

Summary: a short summary of the topic, heavily free linked to other wiki articles.	One Point: 1 sentence, 1 link	Three Points: 3 sentences, few links	Five Points: 5 sentences, many links
Sections: the bulk of the article's information, cited and free linked.	One Point: One section, no links.	Three Points: Two sections, few links.	Five Points: Three sections, at least five links each.
Sources: a variety of print and online sources. Footnotes contained in a {{reflist}}.	One Point: One footnote, or sources of questionable quality. Or no {{reflist}}.	Three points: The reflist contains ~three good-quality sources.	Five points: A variety of print or online sources, numbering five or more, of good quality.
Media: a relevant picture, video, or song from the Wikimedia Commons.	One Point: Irrelevant media included.	Three Points: Relevant media included.	Five Points: Excellent media included, captioned, and positioned.
Markup: Appropriate markup used.	One Point: Irrelevant or broken markup.	Three Points: Adequate markup.	Five Points: Excellent markup frequently used, clean, and no errors.
Extra Credit: Available when the project is really cool or well-made.	One Point: Page created about yourself in your userspace.	Three Points: Page in the userspace is well-sourced and written.	Five Points: Page in the userspace blows everyone's mind.

It is possible in any category to earn no points.

At the end of the project, in order to "turn in" the assignment, come back to this page and add the link to your username in the list of students. If you need help, remember to ask.
