Merge[edit]

In order to reduce the large number of articles on the Simpsons, I have suggested this as a posible page for things such as Buzz Cola, Duff Beer, Krusty cereals etc. which probably are not deserved of their own aritcles (though duff beer might be as it is so pervasive in the simpsons - have nt proposed that one). Rename[edit]

Rename to List of products from The Simpsons, per naming convention...

Done. —Nightstallion (?) 12:43, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Argument for 'consistant products'?[edit]

Can I argue that products on this list (Re: 'Doze') should only be products that are seen or mentioned in more than one episode (Duff Beer, yes; Fudd beer, no - add it to the Duff article if you feel it's a vital point)... or else you're going to get about a thousand throw-away one-time jokes in here. I'd delete Doze if you ask me... which you didn't... which is why I'm not doing it myself TheHYPO 06:31, 22 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Laramie in other TV programs[edit]

I was just watching the first season of 'The Practice' (fourth episode) where they are suing a tobacco company and they show advertising for Laramie. Do we assume than this is a nod to the Simpsons and not the rolling tubes? They name hasn't been associated with cigarettes before the Simpsons?Twinstar 13:55, 8 July 2006 (UTC

Laramie is a cigarette brand, admittedly now non-existant (see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laramie_(cigarette) ). Should it be included on the page? There is no mention of it. --87.112.166.93 (talk) 10:19, 11 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ah Fudge?[edit]

If my Simpsons memory serves me right, it is to chocolate like Duff is to beer and Laramie is to cigarettes. Here's a link to a transcript of episode Bart the Murderer, where Bart misses a school visit to the Ah Fudge factory: http://www.snpp.com/episodes/8F03.html - also, in the episode Guess Who's Coming to Criticize Dinner?, an Ah Fudge booth appears at a food expo. There may be more. JCCyC 19:37, 15 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Consistant products[edit]

I understand that I probably put too many non-consistent products on the list, so I'm deleting the Disemboweller IV section, because the game only appears in one episode. -- George cowie 08:38, 30 August 2006 (BST)

I'll also delete Mr. Sparkle Washing-Up Liquid -- George cowie 08:42, 30 August 2006 (BST)

Ironically, Mr. Sparkle is one that I wouldn't necessarily delete. More than one appearance doesn't necessarily have to be in more than one episode. That product appears all through the episode and is a major plot point. It's really a matter of significance. like, "Uncle Jim's Country Fillin'" appears in one scene and isn't particularly important. "Dancin' Homer T-Shirt" is not even the name of a product and it's never actually mentioned. It's just something you see in the background indicating that Dancin' Homer is popular. "Glum Toothpaste" is also just a throwaway product. At least Disemboweller is used for a plot point - I'd personally make a "Video games" section and list video games invented by the simpsons briefly and any appearances, since there are multiple shown throughout the series. A brief list of insignificant ones, and actual content on games that have information to print (like Lee Carvallo's golf game). things like "Econo-Save Budget Stools", "Timely Magazine", "Extra Extra", "Soy Pops" are all throwaway jokes, as are many others added to the list. TheHYPO 12:20, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It has been mentioned in another comment that the Bonestorm game that Bart shoplifted was important to an episode, and I agree. Should we put that on the page if we can scrape up enough information about it, or just leave it alone? Thesithwithashotgunshell (talk) 04:44, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Buzzcola.jpg[edit]

Image:Buzzcola.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 06:00, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

References.[edit]

I've removed all the references in this article, and, I wanted to explain why.

As the article is now unsourced, I've added an {{Unsourced}} template. I'll look for some sources later (Don't forget, you can cite the shows themselves! Use {{Cite episode}} for that...)--SXT4 01:39, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The List[edit]

Some of the items in the list are really important to the plots of some episodes, like the Bonestorm Game, so the list should be re-added AND improved, NOT deleted. 62.31.242.55 21:47, 11 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Krusty Burger ingrdients[edit]

Just wanted to add that the ingridients of Krusty Burger meat are in fact known: In one early "Eye on Springfield" episode in the intro you see a horde of zoo animals walk into the back of a Krusty Burgers and happy customers walking out of it in the front. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.220.38.30 (talk) 18:53, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Major cleanup[edit]

This is one of the worst Simpsons related articles going by the number of tags. Since the article was recently kept after an AFD discussion, which resulted in no consensus, we need to do something about. I am therefore going to do a major cleanup. Basically, I am keeping everything that is sourced and has relevancy to the real world. I do this per WP:INUNIVERSE. --Maitch (talk) 14:35, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Merge from Tomacco[edit]

I don't think that Tomacco is notable enough to warrent its own article and it is better described in this list, so I propose we merge the two pages. Although the merge would just consist of a redirect, since we don't need the plot summary and the real world stuff is already on the list. --Maitch (talk) 21:54, 25 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. —TheLeftorium 20:38, 1 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Move[edit]

I have moved this article from Products produced from The Simpsons "List of products in The Simpsons" to "Products produced from The Simpsons". The reasons for this are: First, it is not a list since it mostly contains prose and not tables or bullet points. Secondly, it is not a list of all the products, which have been featured on the Simpsons. It is a list of those products that have been featured and later turned into a real product. --Maitch (talk) 20:41, 1 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Tomacco[edit]

I removed the following doubtful uncited information from the article. If it's accurate, please re-add it, making appropriate citations to reliable sources. Thanks, Vectro (talk) 04:42, 10 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The world's first tomacco, destroyed in the testing process, contained no nicotine. The second tomacco was given to and eaten by Simpsons co-executive producer Ian Maxtone-Graham, who wrote "E-I-E-I-(Annoyed Grunt)". The third was sold on eBay, the fourth was eaten by a Xerox engineer who suffered no apparent ill effects from the tomacco, and the last was given to Portland talk show host Rick Emerson.
