Proposed edits[edit]

Patrick Reynolds was recently in touch with me; I sorted out getting clear license releases for some more recent photos of him (one of which I added to the article and to Wikidata, the rest of which are just on Commons). He also had a request for some edits; I'll leave that to whoever is working on the article. He proposed a possible paragraphs, with the following citations:

"In 2016, frustrated by years of near unanimous opposition by Republicans in Congress to increasing the Federal tobacco tax, passing FDA Regulation of tobacco and a national workplace smoking policy, Reynolds founded a political action committee, Congress Majority PAC, www.CongressMajority.org . The PAC's TV spots mention no candidates by name and urge voters to vote Democrat. In 2021, with his background in advocacy and public speaking, Reynolds is contemplating a run for Congress."

He adds "All our releases were distributed to the press, and some were picked up" so someone might want to look for independent coverage of this. It would seem to me that existence of an organization and who its founder was don't really require an independent source, though.

As for his "contemplating a run for Congress" my own inclination would be to leave that out until such time as he formally announces.

For the record: I do not know Mr. Reynolds, nor has he in any way compensated me. I got involved with this because he requested licensing help on the Commons help desk. However, I felt that since I had a good deal of interaction with him in this process and have not edited this article except to update the photo, I'd leave it to someone else to make this editorial decision.

Pinging a few people who have passed through here: @SilkTork, Fences and windows, Martarius, TAnthony, and NormalPerson7: sorry if I missed anyone very active, only so much patience to read decades of history. - Jmabel | Talk 21:16, 23 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
