UK National Trails and U.S. National Trails System[edit]
Within the UK, 'National Trails' is not an agency but a class of recreational provision administered by the statutory bodies in England and Wales - 'Natural England' and the 'Countryside Council for Wales' respectively who as part of their remit are charged with developing, maintaining and promoting such routes for walkers, cyclists and horse-riders.
