Untitled[edit]

This article isn't very good at all. It should be expanded to cover Mud prior to when they were successful, their RAK period and also their Private Stock years. There is s much that could and should be added. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.238.13.26 (talk) 22:16, 6 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think Mud's first appearance on TV was on Oppertunity Knocks which they won and then went on to release thier first single Crazy.

Dave Mount's death reports[edit]

I am still not certain that the reports of his demise are not either a hoax, or pertain to another such named individual. It seems strange to me that neither the BBC, nor this dedicated (and, in my experience, very reliable) website [1], has not reported it. More info please, before Wikipedia looks a little foolish.

I've moved the claim about his death to the main text of the article, and given a ewarning as to its reliability. It's not clear to me that even this is wholly appropriate, but it's surely better than including it as a fact. Googling reveals a few mentions by individuals on message boards — nothing official. It might be true, but it looks very like an Internet myth. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 10:56, 16 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Mudcd.jpg[edit]

Image:Mudcd.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Discography[edit]

A discography needs to have a distinguished order, be it the alphabet or the chronicle. However this discography lacks both. When a single didn't chart it doesn't seem important to date it chronically. "Nite on the tiles" did chart, however not in the UK, but in the Dutch Nationale Hitparade, in November 1976, which was months later than "Shake it down" did, which was a hit in spring 1976. 195.240.16.79 (talk) 01:41, 6 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Female Lead Singer (post-Gray)[edit]

Surprised that there is no mention of the period (following Les Gray's leaving in the late Seventies) when the band (I believe all of the remaining three) toured and recorded with a female lead singer, still under the name 'Mud'. (Personally saw them 'live' in Barnstaple c. 1979 and have a 7" single from this era somewhere. Can't remember her name.) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 132.185.240.123 (talk) 16:00, 17 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That has to be "Drop Everything And Run", watch http://www.discogs.com/artist/Mud#p=1&t=Releases_All for a complete discography. 83.83.119.239 (talk) 15:04, 29 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough. However, the article is not exactly bulging with references and verifiable information is a cornerstone of editing requirements.

Ray Stiles[edit]

It may be coincidence but bass player Ray Stiles ... the same bass player now playing in The Hollies? 83.83.119.239 (talk) 15:06, 29 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, the same man. - Derek R Bullamore (talk) 15:09, 29 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
