The last paragraph read:

Lammens concluded that the outcome of the meeting of Saqifah came about as the result of a conspiracy woven by Abu Bakr, Umar and Uthman, who, in the Saqifah of the Banu Sa`idah, had agreed to seize the caliphate and succeed one another. ref

I seem to recall reading in Encyclopedia of Islam that he believed there was troika made up of Abu Bakr, Omar, and Abu Ubaydah (not Uthman) - all the more reason for the author to provide a reference. Slackerlawstudent 22:16, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I took it out again. If it is used it needs include what the meeting of Saqifah was and an explanation of why it matters. Also - as noted it needs to be correct and sourced. If the motive for including it was no more than a Shi'ite desire to prove Abu Bakr and Omar were bad men it is too POV to tolerate. DKleinecke (talk) 04:59, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
